It's a first in Custom Collectable history, Geeks & Geekettes!
Today we'll be pimping out the Transformers Series 83 Soundwave figure!

This hurt me a little to see a great figure be destroyed, but at least it looks good.

Idk this diorama makes no sense for a transformer it just sorta looks like something made by someone who dosen't know how anything about transformers

I like how the end result reminds me a bit of the technorganic Cybertron at the end of Beast Machines

If it had some blue neon lines (possibly energon) all over the place then it would totally be technorganic cybertron (man i love BM and its ending, wish we could see more technorganic cybertron and this era in general).
I like it (very well done), but it's actually kind of sad seeing any of the Transformers characters broken down and abandoned like that.

Awesome build. If you do another one, it would interesting to leave Ravage normal sitting there looking up at Soundwave. It would be like a loyal dog that keeps going back to his owner's grave. It would then have both visual and emotional interest.
I felt like there was a huge war going on at earth, where Ravage was fatality killed, and Soundwave being wounded from the battle decided to spend his last moments with ravage.
YES! After watching this series for the last 8 years, seeing my favorite franchise make it's custom collectibles debut is so satisfying.
You should definitely do one with a Pacific Rim figure! If you do, I recommend Cherno Alpha, because of his really interesting and cool design!
OUCH! Such a great looking figure... Should've got one that was heavily played with and maybe even broken, could've turned out even better... But it does look cool in the end.

Really love how this came out great job man. I think I would have preferred more color variant within the brown and the green, the initial visual impact seems to be solid green and solid brown but still overall a great diorama piece

Boylei Hobby Time uses an old sock and a vacuum to clean up the extra static grass so none of it is wasted. Also, the hole kinda looks like a heart
I love watching this the way you made him look like his power died out.. but I don't know if I could see myself doing that to one of my toys, I grew up with Transformers Generation 1. But I would love to try and do something like that but I'm no pro I'm still a rookie at doing dioramas.

As a model maker, some advice on the static grass. Never use just one color, and try to paint over it a bit once its set and dry. Either with a soft dry brush or a wash, just to break up the neon green of it. Its a day and night contrast when you add that little extra touch!

To be honest with the trees, it kind of makes sound wave look absolutely mass
Soundwave is my Favorite Character in the Transformers Universe. He has always been a loyal friend and savior for Megatron. This looks amazing the only thing I could grip about is you should have cut off those pegs on his side of his chest and his arms and made them flat since you're not gonna transform him ever again.

Can you imagine if some guy if like walking through a forest or something many many years after someone big battle and the guy finds Soundwave and maybe a few others bots and cons all dead rusting away like this

A good way this could fit in the story is sound wave crashed on earth but somehow got in a confrontation with Optimus before he met up with bumblebee and they battled and Optimus was struggling in the beginning but came out on top in the end and left soundwave somewhere in a forest alive but beat and the rest of the deceptacons arrive on earth after rise of the beast and find his body and ravage and repair him to fight once more

This would look great on a diorama where the two factions are facing of but something got in the way and now every transformer on the battlefield is locked in position. Eventually they shut down and nature grows around them, creating the effect that you gave to Soundwave…
What do you think? Is it great or excessive?
To be hoinest, applying the same effect to the glass as the metal doesn't look right. I think covering up the screw holes would've been better, but the moss gets the job done.
Ugh. Seeing any Transformers figure destroyed hurts. Especially since some of them are so damn hard to find. At least it wasn't an MP or MPM that would have truly hurt.

Debate time: who is more iconic to Soundwave? Laserbeak, Ravage or Frenzy?
The vines are too much. You should have done some thin vines growing up around his arms and legs. You should have also blacked out his red eyes. And put a bird's nest in his chest.
As a massive Transformer nut (and obviously a Display Chris fanboy) this made me very happy indeed! My favourite detail has to be the small pond in the centre. If you were to do another TF figure that's shut down, may I recommend darkening the eyes/visor so it's as if their spark has died. Great work sir 👍

i have found this old transformer from like. centuries ago, and his name was soundwave. i hear he sacrificed himself for the cybertronian war to end... but that was in the past and transformers returned to cybertron... now it a statue of that war.
he was known as the right hand man of megatron, and had cassets that transformed into mini transformers, he fought well until he tried to stop megatron and prime but got shooted and the two decided to end the war. overall very weird ending to a war.
start of the war (on earth): 1984
end of the war(year that soundwave died): 2084
transformers leaving to cybertron: 2111
