The camera was focused on Bonnie's stomach, which isn't where his ears are. Its where the kid was shoved in presumably. So hey, he could've been "blinking" for all we know :)
I think the reason why we feel so nostalgic towards classic FNaF when we watch FNaF VHS is because it emulates classic FNaF with its lack of animation and liminal space aesthetic, and gives it a realistic VHS filter. It makes us and FNaF feel old.
the liminal space of this one really scares me, like the motion of turning around and seeing nothing but an empty room is terrifying. sorta reminds me of the feel of old pixar shorts with the unicycle

Tapes, chapter 2 After being horrified at the first tape, I push the second one into the player. I made a promise to myself that I _will_ watch all five, and I am planning to _keep_ that promise. The tape starts with a simple title screen, "Bonnie Joint Movement Testing." There is nothing but static in the background, but that's to be expected when it comes to animatronic movement test videos. It then flips to a new card. "Arms." The camera cuts to Bonnie. But this model is different, just as the Freddy one was. Bonnie has whiskers, his head _and_ body shape is different, and he's blue. He moves his right arm, then his left. A title card pops up. "Fingers." Bonnie moves the fingers on his left arm. A new card appears. "Legs." Bonnie lifts his right leg, and moves his foot. Once again, a new card shows up. "Ears." Bonnie is completely still. Just staring into the distance. I look at his ears during this point. They make no movements. _His ears must've been broken,_ I think. "Eyes." Bonnie has slightly changed position. He is now starting directly at the camera. I stare back. His eyes do not move. This is when I know things are about to get creepy. "Jaw." Bonnie has vanished. The camera moves to the left. A title card appears, but it doesn't say anything. It's just the background. The camera cuts to darkness. Only, I can see Bonnie. He's definitely there, he's just hard to see. Another card. Bonnie is more visible, and is on the other side of the room. A card, once again. I can make out eyes and some parts of his chest, but that's all I see of Bonnie. It gives a weird vibe. Some would call it terrifying. I consider pressing the eject button right then and there, but my thoughts are interrupted by another card. I jump back in terror though the horror of the sight I am seeing. Bonnie is staring at the camera again, and is scarily close to it. It is sudden, and practically unneeded. A loud noise blasts through the speakers, which forces me to turn down the volume. Then, the camera cuts to a present. A white one, with red ribbons. A music box plays as that "Puppet" thing appears. "Puppet" is one of the company's original characters. It starts making inhumane noises I cannot describe. This goes on for 15 seconds before the box opens, and what appears to be Freddy jumps out at the camera. The tape abruptly ends.
07/23/2023 I received an email from Miss May last night out of the blue. At exactly twelve o'clock midnight. She had inquired about the report progress so far. I find it peculiar that she only now thought to check in despite the fact that I had been putting off the project until very recently. Did she somehow know that I only now started it? No. That can't be possible. She probably just remembered about it herself. I can imagine she's probably been dealing with a lot in the company at the moment. Especially due to recent events that I merely understand the basics of. Dead kids. It's always dead kids in these cases. Anyways, I told Miss May all I knew, mainly about the tape I had found. I tried to probe about the blood inside the animatronic character shown on the footage, but Miss May casually sidestepped the issue in her response, simply reminding me to complete my work by the project deadline yet again. I pretty much figured I wouldn't be getting any answers out of her any time soon, though. I decided it couldn't hurt to check one of the other heads for another tape. After all, that's where I had found the first one, so it would only make sense that the others had some too, right? The tapes could very well be the only thing I have to write my report based on. Sure enough, I found another tape inside the head of the bunny, this time falling from the thing's disgustingly wide open mouth when I moved it from the box. When I popped the tape into my VHS player, I was greeted with the same shoddy quality of the first tape. After a few moments, the video displayed the message "BONNIE JOINT MOVEMENT TESTING". I supposed this was a demonstration of the range of mobility built into the animatronics. I guess the manufacturers were proud of the fact that they made a robot raise it's arms and bend it's fingers. Then again, I don't know enough about programming to really chaff that. Why would a normally stationary robot need to move it's legs, though? That didn't register as having any real purpose to me whatsoever. There were some prompts that the bunny didn't seem to respond to at all. It just stood there. Staring. And for a moment, I thought it might've been staring at me. And after one last prompt, "JAW", it had disappeared. The camera shifted, and all I saw was pitch black. The footage continued to display blank prompts as the bunny came back into the focus, shifting around the darkness, still staring. Staring at me. Then it was before me, and it made this awful sound that made me almost jump from my chair. Then the image changed to a box. A present? I could hear a music box playing, but it didn't sound right. It just sounded off. I don't know how else to put it. There was this...thing that dangled above the box. This thing with a horribly human shape. This thing that made a horribly inhuman noise. Like a static wailing, almost like a creature of some sort. Like a monster. What happened next was too sudden. Something leapt from the box. The screen froze on it for a few minutes, but I wasn't able to figure out what I was looking at before the footage cut to black. Another bone-like crunch. My VHS player ejected the tape yet again. And just like the first one, it was broken.

The fact that they used psychological warfare by making the text disappear and Bonnie move ever so slowly instead of a quick and simple jump scare is FREAKING TERRIFYING!
i love this series but i hate how everyone says that it doesnt have jumpscares as if that's what makes them good, also it has jumpscares (or at least screamers) like in 1:27

Something that I appreciate is that you don't just copy and paste the same sounds from the original game. You make something entirely new. That's what's amazing about your work- it's somewhat familiar but also brand new
The fact that it sounds like the Puppet/Marionette is screaming "WHY" makes it seem more plausible for these to be real. And is an awesome touch outside of potential lore.

I supposed this was a demonstration of the range of mobility built into the animatronics. I guess the manufacturers were proud of the fact that they made a robot raise it's arms and bend it's fingers. Then again, I don't know enough about programming to really chaff that. Why would a normally stationary robot need to move it's legs, though? That didn't register as having any real purpose to me whatsoever. There were some prompts that the bunny didn't seem to respond to at all.
It just stood there. Staring.
And for a moment, I thought it might've been staring at me. And after one last prompt, "JAW", it had disappeared. The camera shifted, and all I saw was pitch black. The footage continued to display blank prompts as the bunny came back into the focus, shifting around the darkness, still staring.
Staring at me.
Then it was before me, and it made this awful sound that made me almost jump from my chair. Then the image changed to a box. A present? I could hear a music box playing, but it didn't sound right. It just sounded off. I don't know how else to put it. There was this...thing that dangled above the box. This thing with a horribly human shape. This thing that made a horribly inhuman noise. Like a static wailing, almost like a creature of some sort.
Like a monster.
What happened next was too sudden. Something leapt from the box. The screen froze on it for a few minutes, but I wasn't able to figure out what I was looking at before the footage cut to black.
Another bone-like crunch. My VHS player ejected the tape yet again.
And just like the first one, it was broken.

as a horror film buff, the setup and tension building for this video was absolutely masterful. im not scared by much, but this got me
