    Hello Keegan. I've been out of the loop for a while. I stopped playing music all together, and havent touched a guitar in years. I'm sorry to see you lost all your content from your former page, but glad you're back at it.
    Your cover of Room 1000 Years Wide was incredible. Hope you're doing well.

    Yeah, French Canadian is something 😂. English people told me they can’t hear the difference compared to France French. But for us it is as different as UK vs US English.
    France people mostly don’t understand when us, French Canadian speaks. But I think they are just being snob 😂.

    In about 1989 i got right into Rose Tatoo , I use to sing rockn roll outlaw in my very first band , and have you listened to stuck on you?. Great guitar pieces and that vocal was something i wished for. But he just had that natural rasp

    Great vid Kegan, i was just wondering what your thoughts were on the squeaky/creaky door exercises. I find that they feel alright and sound ok but idk if they are really helping me develop my voice

      You mean vocal fry as your onset? I'm not a fan. Ultimately, no exercise "builds" your voice other than what it shows you to do, and the coordination it builds. What do you feel you get out of doing this creaky onset? (You'll notice I don't use fry either in my onset, or even in my lower singing unless it's stylistic) Best - K

      @@FoundationVocalStudio Right right right makes sense. Yeah because I do find that it helps me access some notes high (for me) in my range with good cord closure but I don't think it translates well into actual songs or other exercises.

    What do you think happened to Chris Cornell's voice? Its not talked about often and it would be awesome to see a detailed video on it.

      @FoundationVocalStudio  Před 5 měsíci +3

      He started having issues around Superunknown, took lessons with someone that told him to clench the belly on high notes - and it was downhill from there. The difference in his range from G4-D5 is so pronounced between Louder than Love and the first Audioslave record that it's almost like a totally different singer due to this misstep in his approach. However, I'd rather do videos on positive stuff (like my Chris Cornell tutorial on how to actually DO it...) rather than gossipy stuff that doesn't actually help anyone sing better. All the best - K

      To me the best Cornell stuff is Badmotorfinger.
      The audioslave is less impressive for sure… but, working on Like a Stone atm, it’s still impressive how high he goes while sounding round and full. I sound like Mickey Mouse on F4 and higher 🤪😂. Slowly getting there. Slowwwwwly .

      Yeah, Audioslave is unlistenable for me.

      Still some good songs.
      Like a stone, Cochise, Gasoline, Show me how to live…. And that’s it

    How tall is Angry? I had never heard of them before and checked out a video. He looks like so many of these awesome singers who are so much shorter than their band mates.

    Chris Cornell took lessons from a guys named the Maestro who also taught Lane Staley.

    • @FoundationVocalStudio
      @FoundationVocalStudio  Před 5 měsíci +1

      After the fact - Layne was totally broke and living in the rehearsal studio for free, how could he have afforded Hollywood rates at the time? He didn't. 'maestro' David Kyle, Ron Anderson - they were the go to after an issue had occurred, not the initial training. Chris worked with Ron in the 90's after losing his voice on the Superunknown tour, queue downfall of his voice from that point... Best - K
