/ top8tt Masato Shiono (塩野 真人) is a Japanese table tennis player. He plays defensive style. Chops the ball with long pips from backhand side and chops, topspins and push the ball from forehand side with inverted rubber. Masato Shiono game is very entertaining, reminds a lot to Koji Matsushita.

Thanks for the videos, i'm new in the world of ping pong and defensive players are the ones that i enjoy watching the most.
Thank you for watching!
defenders are only fun to watch when they play against an attacker, and at pro competition. If you watch 2 defenders play against each other you're gonna hate table tennis for it. Also if the level of 2 players are low, club level for example, the game will be super boring as well.
then be a modern defender.
He always reminds me of Koji Matsushita.
Woojoo Kim yea, koji also jumped a Bit and Made the crowd laugh With his moves :D
Koji coached him. Almost like he copy & pasted himself.
stomp stomp stompity-stomp stomp...
Lol yea xD
hey no swearing
Smile (Mr. Tsukimoto), is that you?
Kazama, I found him. Come invite him to Kaio high
bet his blood tastes like iron
*Mr. Tsukimoto
That last point with Timo though.
ほんと凄いわ。本当にお疲れ様でした

Amazing!

Это же одно сплошное волшебство.
Very , very excelent choper and defensive hard mentality.thanks
no
unbelievable...
no
Shiono was acrobat, like Koji Matsushita.
Sehr gut.👋👋👋
God of chop
Mantap bro sukses selalu
I love watching good choppers. Tougher on the men's side. It's the 40 & 40+ balls that makes so much harder, along with top players. There are a lot more choppers on the women's side.
Oleksii Vilchanskyi smaller ball and different material
Troller Number 1 yea, the Ball doesnt take that much Spin anymore, so the pimples cant preoduce the Spin on hard Balls like With the celluoid (is that the right way to write? xD) ball. but i dont unterstand why the ping pong Sport is allowed to use the old table tennis Ball and we arent ;(
The 40mm balls made the defenders life difficult because it's not possible to give effect to the ball anymore, and it gave speed to the attackers. That's partly why I stopped playing.
@@eldontyrellcorp thats sad
@@eldontyrellcorp plus they have gone to plastic (poly) from celluloid. Plastic cannot also be guaranteed to have a nominal diameter very close to 40mm. The tolerance can shift appreciably higher (40+)
Looks like Koji MATSUSHITA.
why so many dislikes ? it's an attractive player , good mentality etc ... what's the problem?
Frustrated players who play well against other attackers, but lose to every chopper they ever meet in a match.
tubeist- dan it is the hardest to beat a defender
Not for me. I was lucky in that the first chopper I ever played couldn't play against fast loop; and I had that on both wings. I used to practice in the basement against an 1/8 inch plywood backstop at the end.
So the idea of backspin return was quite natural, and beating the first chopper was a great confidence-booster. Later I had trouble with the new weird rubbers, but that's another story.
choppers are sadistic cucks who like to see their opponents suffer in the worst ways possible. they suck the enjoyment out of this game and even if their opponent wins they feel dead inside cause theyd rather stub their toe a milion times than play vs a chopper
what rubber he using . lp . .?
I have never seen how defenders do the exhibition! (at the end)
Can someone tell me what he is playing with ? FH, bh ?
What is up with the rumbling though?
What is the name of the first player he played against? Love his technique ;)
I think Masaki Yoshida
Is choppers really frustrating ?
40+ mm ball is a disadvantage to chopper. Tried it and the feel not like 40mm ball. The LP will not gives that backspin effect to the opponent consistently. Opponent does have better chance to corner LP player. Unless the recent latest LP has better effect specialise on 40+ ball. Donic spike2 try it
顽强的削球手
Is he still playing?
He has an unusual career path! I believe he's an office worker at Sanyo or one of those companies, and only comes out to play when he feels like it, but when he does he regularly beats top ten players. I love some of his matches where he's getting thrashed all over the hall by some all-out attacker, and gradually you see an expression of horrible doubt come over the attacker's face: like, "Oh shit, whatever I do I'm not going to win this". Fantastic!
He played with danced.... hahaha.....
Defense seems to work great against low and medium level players, but I never see defenders win tournaments.
Since June 2003, the International Table Tennis Federation has consistently ranked Joo Sae-hyuk as one of the 40 best table tennis players in the world after he defeated Ma Lin. Since July 2006, he has been consistently ranked in the ITTF's top 20. His peak rating was at #5, in March 2012
Legandary koji matsushita winning the CL and beat ma lin in the final
Also jo se hyuk won many open tournoument and had deep runs in many massive events
@@hossein.g5685 will you please name few defensive blade?
@@sumandas9487 check koji matsushita blade. Donic defplay senso v3 is also good and much cheaper.
That's also because globally there are less defenders than attackers.
Same applies for left-handed (how many ranked first?) of penhold grip.
so it's like, "well, eventually, you're gonna mess up so, lol" :D
Vertically challenged players' match?
Nice happy japanese
Shiono Masato = Koji Matsushita ... The same stille , same movements , same way of defense ...
looks he's having a seizure while he's chopping
Reminds me of Jackie Chan
Top class defense...but to be this good takes some skill and fitness wow
존나 비참하게 치는데 잘치내
i came here for ping pong the animation
2:35 - 2:45
loool
He retired
so?
no, with the new ball its almost impossible to play in high level
0313 X-01 He's just getting married. I don't sure that he's now retired or not.
It is true.
@@jeanpablo3995 ill play you a song on the worlds smallest violin 🎻
He seems very uncomfortable with using a forehand chop.
But why defenders always lose?
they fuckin' suck, thats why my dude
It's entertains enough to watch but against a good player it won't win you games.
Toxic Hazmat highest World ranking: 23th of the whole World, so there are only 22 good Players lol
hp hp they are still all unter the top 50 of the world wtf, they are top Players, Players like ma long or Fan zedong are such big Talents, and i bet u would also mention in ur list of non top Players dima ovcharov who is just a slight better than fang bo
Counting on your opponent to make a mistakes is not a strategy that will work on better players, like I said. And anyway that ranking was definitely his peak, he's much closer to ~60th place now.
It looks from this vid he was beating Ovtcharov, who is extremely good against choppers.
2:05
yea, in 2003 i believe joo se hyuk made the 2cd place in wttc, he beat ma lin which was defenetly a top level player. but as we re talking about shiono, i said "highest world ranking is 23" so ofc it is/was his peak, i bet he won against some high level players sometimes, even bojan tokic almost won against ma long (at his peak lol)
Less attack than Yuto
Poor choppers. In the majority of the matches in this videos, he is lagging behind the opponent on scorecard.
The dude at 2:45 reminds of the "most outrageous table tennis match" When they pretend to play like girls.
I like to watch choppers get crushed
像小孩儿打球。
hes good but he not control the ball like koji Matsushita .Masato need to train to be same good like koji Matsushita
This isn't a real chopper. He only chop for backhand. Forehand is awful.
Choppers have to be the most boring players to watch. yawnnnn...
