  • Very scary Steinfjelltunnelen in Norway. It was impossible to see where the road stopped and the wall started. And it was about 1.5 cars wide.

In winter they actually close the entry gate - there is a winter video showing this, and predictably the gate is bumped into all the time, and one car actually crashed right thru it in March 2004.

True :-). They actually close the gate to prevent the tunnel from filling up with drifting snow. Mountain roads in Norway are often closed in winter, I guess they want a way to keep this tunnel open throughout the year. Mighty strange solution though.

you were right, that tunnel really is completely creepy, and it almost looks like a construction area when you enter it...at least you didnt meet up with any other cars while you were in there!

Has the driver not heard of head lights?

@eskmaratojanilhan Yeah, I passed it when I crossed from Sweden to Norway. I passed a few other "interesting" tunnels in Norway, but this one beat them all :-) Sadly the camera did not deal to well with the low light situation :-/

Even more a reason to think; "wow, why would someone build his garage over here" :-)
