- Okay, not going to lie...there is some frustrating decisions with the McFarlane Toys My Hero academia Hero Killer Stain, but I still dig the way it looks standing in the display. But Iida? Aw man, so good.

The overall problem with Mcfarlane is that they do the sculpt and then add the articulation system in straight cuts.
If you cut some chunks of plastic of Stain's crotch it would have better movement. I did that with most of my DC Multiverse and they're doing pretty well.
stain has a very insaniac from small soldiers look ( all the hints todd make it happen)

McFarlane has been improving a lot on this line. The new Midoria they anounced looks way better than the original release, if they do proper All Might and Froppy I will get on this line

A 12-inch sized All Might would be cool to see.
Yeah, even though it may not be exactly perfect to the show, I feel like I need a huge All Might.
@@TheFwoosh and a 12-inch sized one would be bigger than the standard-issue retail release, but still a somewhat-reasonable size for general retail. I've seen the larger-sized 12-inch Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny Silverhand out at retail, so it's not unreasonable, though I'd hope a 12-inch All Might would be properly articulated and not just a statue.
I love these figures and can't wait to get them. I am hoping that they fill out the rest of class 1-a and the league.
I hope they make Twice, Spinner and Overhaul.

It's obvious McFarlane doesn't care about this property. Imagine Hasbro with this line with properly scaled heroes.

I'm into these Mcfarlane MHA figures too because I'm not buying the $90 figma figures, way to expensive for an over 10 main character collection.
Even if you're swapping heads with the Banpresto statues the price is still half the price of figma. I actually skipped the last couple of figmas, think I'm just sticking with McFarlane and doing some tweaks here and there.
Detail(sans faces at times) is there with Mcfarlane toys. The sculpts are on point.
It's the articulation that's the real criticism that Mcfarlane needs to address.
Based on all mods I've seen. Mcfarlane with just some under the hood tweaks(Adding some slots) could have far more range then they currently have.
The figures are just so close to to hitting every box.
They just keep getting better 🤩
Saw another review of Iida, he actually has a swivel right above his knees, which is a nice additional point for him.
Stain looks awesome. I only wish that his knives could come out of their sheaths and that his scarves had joints so they can be moved around more.

Robo the ML Iron Man blast effects fit into the exhaust. Iida also has above the knee swivel.
I found an unused 25 dollar best buy gift card, and went to my local best buy and both of them were right there! Super happy with these two, i thought id be more into stain, but i honestly cant put the iida figure down!
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but if you drop Stain in some hot water it breaks in the joints and the bandana piece will also. You'll be able to swivel it around. TOTALLY AGREE with the hard plastic used on those parts...they made the sword soft and rubbery but made the bandana and scarf hard plastic????..LOVED YOUR REVIEW BTW!!!! As always brother...shoulda led with that, lol

McFarlane is 100% improving on this line .
There's little to no paint slop unlike series one and the headsculpts seem . . . better ?
I can agree with that.
Like every McFarlane release, 2 mins with a dremel,razor blade and an occasional peg swap gives them better articulation than most figures. Add in the fact that they arent fragile and are really inexpensive its hard to take anyone that complains about them while praising tiny 100 dollar fragile figures that can break taking them out of the package seriously. That's just me though, im happy to see people enjoy whatever they buy/collect no matter how I feel about those products/companies.
Better articulation than figma or AY? I doubt it.
But they are good alternative if you don't have the cash for the other lines, plus McFarlane being better at releasing more characters.
@@pvmeza4277 yes, better articulation than figma or AY, because it doesn't fall apart. Honestly, even stock, these come close to figma posability but with mindful mods, they'll move better. AY... I don't know, that's tough because they're very stylized but I find mcfarlane stuff more posable while still standing. Smoother looking too, AY are pretty crap in vanilla poses. AY does take more dynamic posing, if you use the flight stand, but for just standing on a shelf, they're pretty limited actually... and bits fall off all the time. That's not a problem with McF.
@@kiltedcripple AY has been taking the criticisms with neutral posing to heart it seems.
Every release from around the time their Deadpool 2.0 came out has honestly been pretty flawless. Only thing left to overcome would be their anime-style aesthetic that gets too over-the-top at times.
Why am I watching reviews for figures/lines I am not collecting! I'll end up buying them like every thing else! I had no intention of getting Fortnite or Warhammer or DC ... come to think of it, it's all McFarlane stuff that I've started collecting lately!
Needed to see this I’ve been wanting to buy these for a while but I couldn’t pull the trigger, I wish the articulation on all these mcfarlane toys had better range and the heads was so iffy but hopefully down the line they continue to improve
You missed the thigh swivel above the knee on iida!! It actually rotates 360 around!!! Using that with the waist swivel you can get some DOPE ASS KICKS!

Pretty awesome figs too might I add, tho I don't watch MHA, the Mcfarlane figs does them justice so well, I might just...Also, here's a little (toy collector's) box opening hack: When you cut the factory seal tape with your xacto knife blade, don't put it down just yet! Take the blade, slip it between the box flap at the opening flap corner, twist like a car key in the ignition, then voila! Repeat steps 1 thru 2 adjacent to the corner you just flipped up with your knife blade. It also preserves your figures box and prevents damage while unboxing! Give it a try on the next box package that you open. Thank me later...😉😏

I dunno if you've read any of the books for My Hero Academia, but in Vigilantes (one of the spin-offs) they have a storyline that covers Chizome before he became the Hero Killer Stain, just look up Stendhal.
I think a proper All Might Fig from McFarlane would be 10 inches+
I had just gotten comfortable with McFarlane doing minimal accessories but now they're doing everything I could really want. Should Stain have 2 swords? I cant remember anymore. Either way him and Eraserhead have been at the top of my lists.

I really like how did Iida but man, Stain's eyes just creep me out. I think they could've done better on it, especially on his skin color (Stain is almost as light as Midoriya). Iida still looks skinny in his hero costume which is a red flag for me. His armor (especially around his legs) should be bulky like Bakugo's costume.

Iida has swivels at the top of the knees. Also both have angled peg holes in the feet but, they don't work. Don't know why.

I am really weirded out by the quality of mcfarlane for this anime. They're so good at the DC head sculpts but for this anime all that skill seems to fly away.

Bro! $20 for a piece of articulated plastic it is not a bargain. Those $80 imports are criminally expensive. The thing is we are getting used to this price range. That does not mean it is right.
