    I really like this video, straight to the point and no self indulgent waffle like you get with some other reviewers, much appreciated.

    Excellent overview! I am seriously excited by contrast, and think the shadespire warbands are the perfect models to test them out on.

      Thanks! Definitely think more 'busy' models benefit from them the most!

    Well I'm sold will be perfect for my chaos and dwarf , hoping they bring out a lighter tone suited for dark elf flesh

    Thanks for testing these! The one combination I was looking for, however, is exactly the one you skipped: Fyreslayer and Wraithbone

      Aha my limited models course me yet again! If it helps I think I did show a dwarf with the wraithbone zenithal with fyreslayer over the top if that helps!

    Fantastic video, and really helpful. Subscribed, and sold on these Contrast paints. Where you've slopped over the edges with the flesh tones, before moving on to the next step (the leather, furs and cloths), did you touch up the bleed with a bit of wraithbone / grey seer? How well do the contrast paints paint over earlier layers?

    • @tabletopandgaming
      @tabletopandgaming  Před 4 lety

      Hi there, honest answer is it depends on the colour, if it's a 'strong' colour then yes I tend to tidy up with the pot version of the undercoat paint - hope that helps!

    Do it really thick? I tried but I was not being heavy with Gilman's flesh and it was looking dirty patchy really dark.

    I'm gonna try these paints on my new Arena Rex miniatures I'm really excited

      I think they' be really good with the muscled tones of those minis, especially as they're a little bigger!

    Great content. I'd love to see a video on tackling the Flesh Eater Courts like Grymwatch.

    Man they look great for just the single coating! Did you have to do alot of clean up? Lots of those marines fall in either the brushstrokes and pooling or emmaculate clean coverage :P

    • @tabletopandgaming
      @tabletopandgaming  Před 5 lety

      Nothing done at all mate, literally pot/splodge/done, which was phenomenally impressive. I was conservative with how much I was putting on and basically treated it like a shade wash!

    • @brence1984
      @brence1984 Před 5 lety

      @@tabletopandgaming Sweet! Have any space marines lying around? GW's ultramarine was kinda meh on the streaking and pooling. Might have been to show the "quick and dirty" painting (to show off the effect that any newbie painter can achieve).
      However I'd love to see someone do a regular paintjob (with Contrast) on one of them :)

    • @tabletopandgaming
      @tabletopandgaming  Před 5 lety

      Yeah I was a bit surprised they actually put that one out as of all the contrast vids I've seen, that looked the worst finish. I think we might have a marine somewhere, we're recording a batrep tonight so I'll see what we have over the weekend! :)

    Have you found any that work well for pale flesh, like for vampires, etc?

    • @tabletopandgaming
      @tabletopandgaming  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi, honestly guilliman flesh does the job, if you want it more pale either drybrush it after with pallid wych flesh or just mix in some contrast medium to lighten the tone when applying.

  • @hunterkl6
    @hunterkl6 Před 5 lety +15

    In my opinion these contrast flesh tones look a lot more natural to the usual way of painting skin. Personally I don't think they need extra highlights, just paint in the eyes and mouths etc and it's good to go.

    • @tabletopandgaming
      @tabletopandgaming  Před 5 lety +3

      Definitely agree, they're far less 'pinky' than the main line paints.

      I agree, it's probably the only contrast paints I'd ever bother with.

      I feel the exact opposite. These flesh tones just look like a brown wash to me.

      T&G Productions turned it off after you listed the three in the beginning. I’m interested in the Ork Flesh. It wasn’t mentioned that it was going to be covered so turned off the video.
