The difference between a more typical neutron star system and this one seems like the difference between sucking up the water in a swimming pool with a hose pump, and lighting a jet engine over that pool and blasting the water into steam.

Actually given that Neutron stars emissions typically come from literally "burning" their magnetic fields away in either intense jets(Pulsars) or enormous gamma ray emitting magnetic outflows (Magnetars) I have to wonder if this is just a far older Neutron star than we have normally seen before.
With the companion likely being the remains of a white dwarf, it could presumably have occurred long ago perhaps the interaction between the two might have been due to gravitational waves sheering away the distance between them leading them to directly interact and "reenergizing" the Neutron star.
The lack of a strong magnetic field would also play a role in the weak radio emission as the magnetic field is usually one of the major sources for that field

They didn't say how far away in LY this pulsar was. This may mean that the different spectrums of the light that they are measuring will have arrived before or after other spectrums. This is because different spectrums have wavelengths that travel faster or slower than light itself. This may throw out the calculations due to a large margin of error due to when exactly the different spectrums arrive to be measured.

Theory; this neutron star is old I mean O L D and is merely a captured wanderer not a twin. It doesnt have the mass to become a black hole even with the white dwarf it's consuming.
What if neutron stars bleed mass not unlike a black hole (theoretically) maybe the strange matter (again theory) burns off in some way or reaction to non strange matter? This would explain why both masses are so low the neutron star was nearly spent and by sheer luck caught (or was caught) by the white dwarf and began to feed.
Another theory (yeah I'm going there) is this isn't a natural pairing. If it's THAT rare it should at least be looked into that an alien sentient species made this. They could be mere boundary markers for something or anything really. Again yes I went there if it is a rare natural phenomenon it may stand to reason that it can be a marker or something.

    Hey Anton,
    Off topic
it is my personal observation living on planet Earth for over a half century our planetary trajectory spin is spiraling into towards our Sun, accelerating our own planetary spin faster and closer towards our Sun, increasing our temperature and our perception of the day night cycles experienced by living species, our quest for knowledge and technology is for not, letting our personal lives become rather moot for our short existence as a trajectory spin....
Ty again for increasing our curiosity for Science, something that probably has little to do with our own personal lives as far as our long term human journey to the end other than curiosity with a flip of a coin creating long term happiness as a social class of biological creatures within the gamut of infinity minus one mathematically speaking..lol..
    Peace and Love Always ❤️🙏

i would guess that the leading edge of the partner orbit and the application of its tidal force is taking centrifugal forces above the escape energy, momentarily... before the trailing edge transitions the matter into centripidal energy. this constant transitional effect is creating a torus shaped gravitational lens which is digesting all the em above microwave.

Is it spinning so fast its signals just aren't going toward us because of its unique properties? "In the 1600s Johannes Kepler saw that the tails of comets always pointed away from the sun because of radiation pressure,"

The final test of any theory is its ability to predict observations before they are made. How much longer to we need to hear "not expected by astrophysics" or something to that effect before we look for another theory?
