Normally it's considered rude to just ask someone where they are from before even striking up a conversation with them. But I think that rule flies out the window when you're 99.9% sure you're going to be able to speak whatever their native language ends up being, even if you're wrong.
He used to strike up a little small talk in his other videos, but man is too powerful now and he's wasting no time getting this XP

I love that he shows the awkwardness because that is an unavoidable part when learning a language I can imagine and for people who are social awkward and get anxiety like me this is a welcoming thing to see. We are all human after all and no one is perfect

@@jazzyb819 I'm also a socially awkward person. I've kinda been like this my whole life. But it gets worse when I spend time doing things I like, alone and don't hang out with people as much. Like writing, playing video games, watching youtube, etc.. Then the ol' people skills get rusty!

I can't help but think of the *cringe* of a stranger guy following you and suddenly asking personal questions, speaking your native language that almost no one speaks, and wanting to be your friend. *Harassment/stalker* feelings for real. I realize that even though the guy had good intentions and just wanted to practice, it is still uncomfortable. (I'm aware he passed away, but I stand by to what I perceived from his videos).
