    Another great video, quick question do you always use the instrument, or do you option to draw up in cad, then export ???

    • @SITENG
      @SITENG  Před 22 dny

      I typically take info from CAD and then into the instrument - especially now when on site there are mostly robotic Total Stations with software easily taking CAD drawings

    Greg,
    Very informative video which you explained nicely but it was like you was travelling on a London Eurostar to Paris Gard e Nord in France at a breath taking speed and leave everyone behind.
    I have to see this video two or three times to get the full effect of the message embedded in it as it is rich in information for the new Engineer to grasp it in one viewing session.
    I like the running commentary on what to avoid and what to retain for your work while working with the different mode of the same drawing in pdf and DWG format.
    Very good instruction.
    1: When you copied the values of the coordinate onto your Notepad from the survey drawing then does it always copy it as shown on the video with commas and separation as shown?
    Please explain.
    Superb video and congratulations and many thanks.

      You have to look for it on-line, I am trying to find it now myself for my future students, as I can't get it like before😁

    Thanks for posting these videos they are very informative. Would you be able to recommend a good laptop to me for running these programs. I recently graduated college with a civil engineering degree.

      @SITENG  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Alan! I have a gaming one and it's not bad, but it really depends on your budget and I can't really recommend any as I don't know :) Just check requirements for CAD as this probably will be most demanding one, unless you're using Revit, or some 3Ds.

      Let me know if you need anything else.

    You already have the angle difference between the two grids, not sure why you need to ask for more co-ords. Personally i would create two separate grids and use my own local co-ords rather than use Ref line.

    • @SITENG
      @SITENG  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Rob! Having GL AQ/A4 intersection giving us all we need to go and set everything using paper copy and TS06. If using TS06 I would use 2 local grids LATER (as at this point it's not necessary and I have time for architect to reply, checking at the same time how long it takes to get the response from them ;). If using robotic I would just co-ordinate the drawing in global and just work off the drawing/map (Still having my paper copies with me;) . Thank you for comment, it's great to have discussions like this so we can see there are different approaches and many ways of getting the job done right:)

      How would you get the coordinates?

  • @unda25

    for RC FRAME WHAT laptop minimum configuration do you recomen i have an i5 cu 6gb ram , but 10 years old and is a little slow computer

    • @SITENG
      @SITENG  Před 3 lety +1

      If CAD works well enough you don't need anything else really. I have now company's i5 and it's good enough (not sure what ram). If it starts to annoy you and slow you down then you think to change it :)
