I'd love to see more summer content so have a suggestion -- how to use old basics to build new looks (instead of always buying new)

OMG! I can’t believe you mentioned my comment, I’m so flattered!
I love your channel, especially how responsive it is to your viewers, our questions and suggestions. I’ve learnt so much. How to tie a shirt at the front was game changer for me.

I'm totally up for a shorts + blazers video. I'm with you if the shorts don't show under a jacket or a top. It just looks awkward on people. (Please include shoe styles with them. Not that you wouldn't do that. You do it all the time! )

Jamie, first I want to say that that colour green looks gorgeous on you!
I like to wear my platform sandals with wide leg pants or long midi/max dresses. My daughter who is much younger wears them with shorter dresses. It looks good on her, but not for more mature women.

I would definitely like to see a video about shorts with blazers, etc. - especially for petites.

  • @melissakelberzimmerly9557

Thank you Jaime! I am 5’10” with a DDD bust, broad shoulders, and short waisted. 1) My experience is peplum tops always draw the eye to my bust (all price points), not my goal in my upper 40’s, 2) My experience with wrap dresses have never worked (any price point) because they are awkward fit in the bust…not enough material or too much material on the bottom half, 3) My previous stylist for over 15 years, who has since retired, always dressed me in elongated clothing with scoop neck or V-neck, no bulk on top, and balanced out with wide or straight leg pants. I have muscular legs and arms, so I tend to show them off with dresses & shorts, 4) Material & patterns of your clothes are very important. It can make your outfit look cheap or expensive...because the way it lays on your body. My favorite’s are organic cotton & linen in the warmer months. Just my 2 cents.

Same here on the wrap dresses, they always slide down over the boobs as the hours go on. Annoying! I wear loose tops and fitted bottoms to create length, and I agree, be picky about the fabrics you choose 💪🏽💪🏾💪🏼

I am also a senior with this problem like Rita. I buy, or make, clothes for this exact reason. I love your white blouse you showed for a peplum. I don't try to find a peplum anymore, I am very tall and have found a ruffle something like your white top, but only want the ruffle around the arm to add some width to my shoulder to make my bust look smaller. I also like to buy silky tops with the ruffle around the arm and flows over my bust and large stomach. Looks great with longer shorts that I love to wear to draw attention to my lower half, not the upper!

Another awesome question and answer video. I'm large busted with a short waste also. I've tried on many peplum tops and even purchased some and they really just never worked well for me either. And only occasionally do I find a wrap top that works. I'm an overweight hourglass also trying to hide a small tummy. My best friends have been the type of necklines that Jamie recommends v-neck, scoop-neck, square neck, and asymmetrical. I found that printed fabrics distract from the size of the bust better than solids. Surprisingly, the crop trend with mid rise jeans has been a helpful fashion season for finding tops although most of the crops are too small, there are some that hit me right below the waistband but above the hip, and I find that really flattering with either wide leg, Bermuda shorts, skirts. In the summer I search out princess seam dresses or A-line or swing Style and as many times as I've tried a belt it never looks right. It just draws attention to the bust no matter how wide the belt or where I place it. And for the winter I really like sweater dresses that are oversized with warm leggings, faux leather leggings, or skinny jeans. Or short boxy sweaters with wide leg pants, bootcut jeans. I hope that helps.

When I was younger I wore a lot of peplum tops. I found they needed to have either darts in the bust or be A-line with a separate fabric piece for the sides. This means they neededto be very fitted. I am a short wasted petite but need the fabric to be generous on the bustline.

Another great video thanks. I will not be wearing platforms but I found your proportion advice very helpful because I do have some chunky sandals and shoes. I am a 34 GG and have given up on peplum and wrap tops. They just don’t work if you have a small back and large cup because there is too much material to accommodate the large cup so don’t ‘sit’ nicely no matter the material.

Please make a video on styling peplum tops and wrap tops. I have the same problem with these. I am an 5'4 inverted triangle balanced torso, and it's hard for me to find a peplum and wrap.

I would like a shorts/blazer video. However, I feel like my personal style is more “feminine, sexy, romantic” and I have a pear shape. I think blazers look too boxy/masculine on me or too structured. I keep hunting for blazer styles that would work for me, so… more videos with blazers and anything help give me try-on ideas.
