    I have a GP100, blued, 4 1/4" barrel. Love it and highly recommended.

    • @Conklikov
      @Conklikov  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Blued is always gorgeous, I think more so than stainless. My issue is I’m anal and if I get a scratch on a stainless I will fix it. Blued is way more challenging. That said I need to add some blued guns to my collection

    I had a GP100 back in the early 90's. I could shoot this just as well as the .45 I was issued, and even better than the 9mm that replaced the .45.
    I had to get one again, and this is the exact model I have now. It's a great firearm to have.

    It's simply one great revolver, it holds up to full power 357 mag loads (Buffalo bore 357mag/180 grain )all day long for years on end. Price and quality are in sync! One of Ruger's best revolvers in 357 mags, next to their 357 mags single action New Blackhawks (which are even more robust than the GP100). Btw, the Ruger New Super Blackhawk 44 mag Bisley with a 3,75-inch barrel is a dream to carry in the backcountry and a pleasure to shoot. Can't go wrong with either!

    Got mine new in 1985 for $340. The stainless finish with 4" barrel cost me $10 more than the blued gun. I'm going to guess about 10K rounds through it and it's just as tight and solid as it was the first day. This is the LAST gun I would ever think of selling.

      I have a royal phoenix i bought from cabelas put thousands of rounds through it. Sold it, bought it back used it as a carry when hunting got in pretty poor shape. Sent it to ruger for refinish like new again! Just ordered the same one in video here stainless with hogue for my new woods carry since the royal is a very rare piece less than 700 were produced.

    Its five years i have my 4.2 " SS GP100 ,I love it and shoot it everytime I go to the range more often than my other firearms, the only gripe i had were the front sights ,black front and back sights wasnt doing much for my old eyes so i got the Ruger GP 100 high viz sights and what a gamme changer ,happy shooting and stay safe.

  • @perplexingperceptions8888

    Get the Williams fire sights set & they're made of stainless steel too, accuracy increased by 50% with my GP100 6" stainless. I highly recommend those sights.

      Just a heads-up, make sure you have a 1/16th punch tool on hand to slowly push the rear sight pin out. I scratched the frame a bit trying to push it out with a small drill bit.

    Hell yea they picked up the game on the cases! Mine came with a smaller gray case. Regardless, super glad I picked up the SS 7 shooter before it fell off the Commiefornia roster. I prefer my 686 over the GP100, but it still a great gun!

      I hardly see revolver in shops much anymore lately. At least the ones I frequent. I’m not sure why , don’t get me wrong there is still revolvers to be had but I used to be able to pick from 30-40 different models at a bigger local dealer now in terms of Rugers they only had a few lcrs and the wranglers . Either they are selling the other ones like hot cakes or ruger isn’t putting out as many revolver runs focusing on. Newer more profitable product lines

      I would imagine any currently produced gp100 would be the same. I know there is big differences in the 22 model frame to be sure, but the difference may only be in cylinder wall thickness or something of that nature rather than of the frame due to the dimensions of the round being so close

      Ammo or guns? , there were no 10 mm on the shelf when I went through. But they did have some 10 mm revolvers and 1911s. That being said when I bought my gp100, they sold me some 357 out from the back because I bought a new gun. Two boxes of 50. So if you know someone they may let you luck into getting some.
