I’m interested to use this as pen display tablet. Have you tried in display clone mode? How does the pen compare to a Wacom tablet? Thanks
Great video. Waiting for your battey test results.
Nice review! Do you know many external monitors can I connect using a Thunderbolt 4 dock + the HDMI out?
More than you want
Do this Intel arc has own gb just for graphic and do you think 4K Video Editing is possible or is it to Hard for this Notebook/graphic Card ?
I think 4k video editing would not be a problem especially if you get the core 9. Could also use external video card if necessary
Im interested in using this for video editing but would love to know in your next review how does it handle playback of 4k footage and exporting it?
Not the first person to ask about this. Which makes sense, the dual screens would be awesome for editing. Which editing app?
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt premiere pro and after effects would be cool to see but any kind of videos editing benchark test would be awesome
Can the usb-c port on the keyboard transmit-receive data? Or only charge the keyboard?
Good question. Let me test it out
Please how can I buy this laptop I am from Nigeria
My german Version arrived today and i dont had The backpack i had some Kind of an envelope
Can it connect to 2 4k external monitors?
I have seen some people saying that old zenbook duos would only support 3 monitors in total counting internal and external
Not sure and unfortunately I don't have 2 4k monitors to test. Sorry!!!
Do you know what the size of the drive is? I really want to place a preorder from amazon but I cant find any info if its a 2230 or 2280 drive. Any chance you could open it up and confirm the size of the ssd?
I can see about opening it up but here's what I know - the model # is SDDPNQE-1T00 is I'm pretty sure (95%) that is a 2280 from my research. Let me know if you have any more luck tracking down that info. Will see how accessible the SSD is when I have access to my workbench later today.
Yea you might be right its a 2280 drive. I was able to look up the model number on kingstons website and it does recommend 2280 drives as compatible upgrades so I do believe you are correct! @@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt
Glad I could help. Thx for watching my vid! Cheers
What about the screens? I get it's amazing when watching media but having a not so common 1800p resolution, do texts/icons look blurred or do they look fine?
Not at all. Text looks great. As long as the card is driving the screens properly there should never be any distortion
Aamzing, thanks for the reply!!
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt
They have a 3k option too
@@insevanhoutsIt's not actually 3K.
It's just stupid Asus rounding up the number so they can claim 3K which it isn't.
I just received mine yesterday 5/7/24 from Amazon. The i9 version for just $1699.
I had to wait about 3 weeks before it shipped out and was going to cancel because of the wait, but I'm so glad I didn't.
This Asus Zenbook duo 2024 model i9 is a beast.
Not only is it beautiful with the OLED screens, but it's fast and not sluggish at all.
This is definitely the future of laptops and one of the best business laptops on the market.
It may not be for everyone, and can't do everything, but for a business person, even someone in school, this is the laptop to get.
how long is your battery life using both screen, and using just 1?
@deltax7159 So far, it's pretty good for me because I'm not on my computer all day.
Using one screen after the keyboard is charged up, I have gotten 6 to 7 hours, but you have to make sure you turn off are down the keyboard keys backlight. In dual mode, it is just around 3 to 4 hours before I get around 20%.
But that's more than enough for me. I also purchased a 100 w power bank that I can now take with me to charge it up if I have to.
Either way, I'm in love with this thing. Damn Asus is going to end my marriage 😆 🤣 😂.
Whatever you do don't get the i7 version. Don't cheap out get the i9 version way better performance.
Awesome. Finally! Congratulations
Could you do another benchmark test? I'm really interested to see the dedicated GPU equivalent to this new Arc igpu
I only have access to the ARC version to compare
I was able to Pre-order i9 version. So freaking stoked. I'm getting it on the 18th
Is it the 18th of Feburary?! I just ordered mine on amazon today but I haven't gotten a delivery date yet! I'm so excited for this.
k777 Supposedly, it's coming this Sunday. Most likely yours would come sooner as well.
@@GautamAtri Wow okay, thank you! Enjoy your new laptop : )
Awesome! Can't wait to hear your impression of the laptop!
@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt It's here and it's Gorgeous
Got any updates on the battery life, if it will last up to 10.5h with dual monitors?
nope, my everyday usage proved that it won't last longer than 8 hours on one screen and around 5 hours on two screens. I have the core 9 model, maybe the other model with worse specs can do better
@@kristiankameniczki3932 That means asus over claims again? What about the USB-C on port on keyboard? Can the usb-c port on the keyboard transmit-receive data? Or only charge the keyboard?
@@komo5049 yep, I was honestly expecting at least 11 hours on one screen. But the 8 hours is the hard maximum. Maybe if you only leave it open to check your emails (basically without usage), then it will of course last longer. I use it as a business laptop, so MS teams, emails, some background music and then photoshop + code + web browsing pretty much at the same time. The USB-C port on the keyboard is for charging only. The laptop has 2 more C ports with both of them on 65W and it's enough I would say.
How Is The Pen? Is It Working Fine Or Lagging? What About The Touch Sensitivity While Using Pen Bro?@@kristiankameniczki3932
How Is The Pen? Is It Working Fine Or Lagging? What About The Touch Sensitivity While Using Pen Bro?
Not lagging at all. Response seemed great. I wish there was more pen software to drive the experience. Samsung does a good job with this. I don't think it would replace a proper digitizer for graphics work but def a good pen experience for basic usage/writing.
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt I Use The Pen For Basic Mindmapping With Concepts, Will You Recommend This For That Basic Writing & Arrow & Simple Sketches
@user-yb2bq9dc1w 100% would work for that.
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt Thanks A Lot Sir
Is that a microphone clipped on your jacket?
Yes it is. I use one from Newer. amzn.to/4a2A0vG
Oops, it's spelled Neewer
Very interested to try this, but starting the video saying we've never seen anything like this... as I type on a Yogabook 9i... with two screens and a keyboard on the screen... seems disingenuous lol
Def not disingenuous, perhaps I should have explained more. I was referencing a laptop that opens with a keyboard, looks like a traditional laptop only to reveal a second screen hidden under the keyboard. The yoga is cool but def does not integrate the keyboard the way Asus did.
I pre ordered on Amazon uk, it says 3-7months delivery timeframe… what is going on with this thing, can’t seem to find a way to actually buy it in Ireland 😢
3-7 month?!? 🤯
I just order one in the US on Amazon and it will take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive.
I got one on Amazon UK last Thursday, arrived today ( in Ireland). I guess keep checking for restock
More on the hardware:
- There are 3 variants based on the built in cpu, although not all of them might be avaible in your country.
- You can have an Intel u5, u7 and u9. The u9 has 32GB Ram with a 2TB SSD and the others 16GB Ram and a 1TB SSD. Only the u5 variant got the lower res OLEDs.
- The cheaper OLEDs only got 60hz so the difference between the two screen variants is quite big and keep in mind that lower res looks worse on OLEDs than on LCDs.
- You won't be able to change much more than the SSD. It has a complex, custom made cooling system to handle the 2 OLEDs.
- Keep in mind that the hinge doesn't turn 360°. So you can't go full one-screen-tablet-mode and always need more space if you want to lie it on a table...and it won't be complete flat cause of the hinge.
- Besides the price difference between the u9 and the u5 variant, around 900$/€, there should also be a noticable difference in battery time with 2 lower res screens and the slower cpu.
- If you get the Pen 2.0, backpack etc. depends on your country. In some you also get a free mouse if you order on the asus website.
- An alternative laptop with 2 screens would be the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i Gen 8 which is generally considered worse and more expensive but does have some advantages.
Thanks for this.
It’s the not being able to fully fold over that worries me otherwise this would be top notch.
Because of that I find the Lenovo Yogabook a cleaner look / more compact but that costs more.
@@RemofRenaissance Indeed. On the other hand, the keyboard solution on the Lenovo is way worse and you shouldn’t forget about the internal software which controls the 2 monitors, which is way better on the asus. In the end the Lenovo is not just more expensive but also worse in my eyes.
Thx for the comment. Tons of info!! My spec sheet directly from Asus does not show a u5 variant and also shows all screens as 120hz. Not sure if this is correct or not but I also wonder if it's region dependent.
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt Not all variants are available in every country, that’s absolutely correct.
The OLED HZ thing was indeed weird. At first both variants had been advertised as 120hz OLEDs. But now at least my European Asus website says they lower res variant is only 60hz. But that was actually changed like a week ago. Theoretically it might be possible that there are 3 different OLED variants but I don’t think so. Using 60hz on that lower resolution on a laptop screen does make sense.
I wouldn’t pay 400€ more for a better screen on a non-gaming laptop though. And as mentioned, you should get some more battery time which is worth a lot in my eyes.
@@fydofire guess that means “we out” of this current gen of dual screen lol. Back to surface pro + monitor / conventional style 😀
Only if they didn’t keep selling out in under 40 minutes
I've heard. 😭 So frustrating. I also haven't seen the preorder option. Any luck with that?
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt I had an initial pre order but they cancelled it cause whatever reason
Ugh! What's up with that? I don't even see any option to order on their site now. Simply says out of stock. :(
FOR REAL! signed up for the notifications and missed it by 27 mins the 1st time and by ONE FRIGGIN MINUTE the 2nd time 😭😭
@warriorjennings2733 shouldn't be that hard to buy something!! 😡
I am a Sales and Landscape Designer. I would love this to be able to run my 2D sometimes 3D software. Although based off that benchmark, I am not sure I trust it to be honest. Being able to Mirror and share with clients is the main reason I would love it.
Oh man, I could see that being a PERFECT use case. I bet it would be plenty beefy for design software. Good luck!!! Thx for watching my vid.
You mentioned you daily drive an 11 inch. What’s your daily?
I use an 11" Galaxy Book Pro 360. It's a great laptop although I do most of my heavy lifting on an HP desktop.
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt Are you going to do a “daily carry” video?
@millertime247 yeah, that would be fun.
Cheapest configuration in the UAE is $2300 with 5% sales tax included.
Will get one (shipped from the States when available) but hate this regional pricing.
That is frustrating. Wish it was universal in all markets. Hearing some markets get different configs.
How is it with 4k video rendering?
In premiere?

I'll see if I can run a test
Sir, it seems there's a problem with the quality of your voice. I think your lapel microphone is a contributing factor.
🤔 not sure what you mean? Sounds normal to me. Got a timecode? You're the only one to say something?? Perhaps it's on your end?
Yes nearly perfect. The only thing missing is an NVME M.2 slot that should be under the kickstand for easy memory storage.
Other than that, it's the only laptop I see myself purchasing soon.
Ordered in January. Delivery promised Feb 6th. It never arrived, and is now "no longer available". Asus have not responded to any queries on any channels.
Ugh!!! So frustrating!! Kind of wish they would hold off on releasing any product until they have enough to sell. Right?
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt definitely - or at least respond to customer queries. I'm in the UK, maybe it's a local issue, had same issues with their Space Edition - still waiting for answers from queries about that - took months and months before it was available to purchase by which time it had been superceded.
There is barely any technical information in the video... I have not heard a word about storage, ram, or battery, and I'm not even talking about poorly no tests, except the one for graphics with zero reference or comparison to other laptops. What size is the battery and how long does it last? What is the brightness of the screens? What about processor's and graphics' TDP and TGP? Or power efficiency at different tasks (aka performance per watt)? Or temperatures? Or fan noise? Build quality? Keyboard battery? Webcam quality? Screens colour accuracy? Upgradability? Is there an extra m.2 slot? And many other questions you didn't cover in this review.
Maybe I'm wrong and you will cover those things in a different video or have already covered them in one of the previous ones, but then you should've mentioned it. It is still a good video but you should just call it "My Impressions" or so, not a "Full Review - Deep Dive - Benchmark Tests".
Anyway, wish you good luck with your channel and have a great day
Appreciate the feedback. Never enough time in these videos to get into everything. I will definitely take your suggestions to hear for my future vids. Cheers!!
I like this but I don't see a use case for me when considering the price. I recently got an Asus with a 14 inch oled screen for $499 and I bought the Wuawe portable monitor for $55 after coupon. It literally takes me just seconds to setup and now I have a 14 inch screen and a 15.6 inch screen. I can also position the monitors anyway I wish. The portable monitor takes little to no room at all in my backpack and my laptop powers the monitor. To be honest I'm not sure if I would ever use a dual screen setuo on a plane (just too cramped). I actually really like this new Zenbook duo but I don't think for $1500 vs the $555 price I paid justifies it considering for my use case I'm getting a very similar experience. Great review by the way. I've seen many on this laptop and yours is perhaps the best one yet!
Translation: I am poor and can only afford laptops under $500.
Super hyped to get one of these, if asus ever gets them in stock. Great video!
Super surprised they're having such a hard time keeping them in stock. I think everyone knew they'd be popular considering the price?
@@TechItBeforeYouWreckIt it’s wild! I’ve been checking a few times a day for the last week and I haven’t been able to catch one in stock yet. This one is a big hit for ASUS for sure
Why is no one talking about battery on this laptop when doing benchmarks?
Battery benchmarks are tough and take time... def working on it but didn't want to half a$$ it for this video. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Same question!
It is 2024, the battery is fine on every laptop.
@@RK-um9tu well, my last laptop was ThinkPad X1 Extreme and battery lasted 1-3h tops
What about battery life
Asus claims that it'll play video for 10.5 hours on both screens, 13.5 on just one. But they're gonna be doing everything under ideal conditions, and I haven't seen anybody doing real benchmark testing yet.
So tough to test this in such a short time frame and feel good about reporting it. And a true test needs to do it with one screen on and with two screens on. So far so good with battery life but I hope to have more soon.
What is the pricing?
Starts at 1499
Wow. You have never seen anything like it? I got my Lenovo Yogabook 9i 9 months ago! As a tech enthusiast and reviewer, you should have been aware of the Lenovo already. Also it's 120Hz refresh rate, not 128. :D Other than these two glaring issues, thanks for your review. :D
Did I say 128hz??? Total brain fart. Good catch and thanks for watching
Bought and returned it.
The first one had a non-working key. I've been using laptops for almost two decades, and this was the first laptop I had with a hardware problem with the keyboard.
The second one had such severe coil whine, that I could hear it from the next room, and it was intolerable when using the laptop.
Otherwise, awesome laptop, incomparable to anything else on the market - the Yoga equivalent requires the user to set up the laptop and the keyboard is a separate piece. Would love to buy it either in half the year, when Asus quietly updates the production or the Gen 2.
This laptop is constantly sold out, so there is NO WAY you have been able to get your hands of two of them.
Based on your made up problems, I seriously doubt you even purchased one.
Thanks for sharing.. i am hesitant. Did you get the higher res model by any chance? I thought they were releasing 2 versions of the display, but i could only find the lower res one.
@j0404t yeah, there are two displays versions. My model is base i7 with the lower displays.
@@j0404t it depends on the country you live in. Here, in Bulgaria, we only get the higher-end models with Ultra 9 and Ultra 7 CPUs and hi-end screens.
