About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

Frank Translates Korean For Elaine | The Understudy | Seinfeld
bit.ly/OfficialSeinfeld - Komedie
“This guy……this is not my kind of guy.” Phenomenal line delivery 👏🏻👏🏻🤣🤣
Hilarious 🤣
One of my favourite lines in Seinfeld for me
For whatever reason, Jerry Stiller just could not remember his lines and that's what led to his stilted manner of speech.
I hear it in Jon Voights voice.
My favorite too. It’s brilliant! The comedy gold is not in the words.
I love how they kicked Elaine out but not frank 🤣🤣🤣
She brought the spy.
He had to stay in for the reencounter scene lol
And the look on her face outside the door 🤣
Take your dry brittle nails and get out! LOL
I think they did not want to tangle with Frank. Funny how he just stood there glowering at them.
2:10 The way Jerry Stiller delivers this line cracks me every single time. R.I.P. to a legend
When you hear him pause in mid sentence, it’s because he is actually forgetting his lines. Larry David loved it and kept it that way.
You know who speaks Korean- Georges father
@@thagoods3763 "I had some kind offffaaaaaaaaaaaah phobia"
@@thagoods3763 Actually, Stiller didn't forget his lines. It's just he had so much anxiety about remembering his lines that he would give the most bizarre line readings with the most awkward speech rhythm that no actor would ever use. And he would always apologize in between takes; meanwhile, the entire cast and crew were in tears because of how funny he was.
I wanted to make this exact comment haha I love that part!
"I had an affair with a Korean woman."
ill concealed look of disgust - "Oh, Mr. Costanza I don't...."
"No. I feel I need to unburden myself."
Just simply exquisite.
Gold. No matter how many times I watch it.
I laugh just reading his lines. He could deliver.
You’re a dialog repeater . Thats worse than a close talker and a low talker combined.
@@markmed9091 you're a dialog repeater pointer outer, that's like putting your whole tedious pedantry right in the comment section.
That lip quiver from her is just 100x acting
The infamous move that Frank made famous, he always stops short
Always stops short always!!!
It's a good move!
We don’t do that in Korea.
why wouldn't he? it's HIS move!
@@mariobros4448 slams on brakes.. arm extended… bam! He stops short!
Lol anything Frank said sounded funny... the hand movements, the facial expressions, the voice inflections... Full comedic package... 😊😊
No one could do it like Jerry Stiller!
@@nthgth indeed
Jerry Stiller was a brilliant actor. Absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t see anyone else nailing this part like he did.
That's the literal definition of a 'character,' but he was excellent at performing the role. May he rest in peace.
@@Mr._Sandman Indeed
Can’t imagine how many takes it took Julia to get through that diner scene. Her facial expressions when Frank “unburdened” himself are priceless.
She is Great on this show and was very CUTE in first 3 seasons before she changed her Hair du !!! ❤️
Why? Her reaction was probably genuine.
@tamathawalden2037 You said it! This version of Elaine is her best. Sweet, sensitive, and a little awkward. I think she probably wanted to play a stronger character, like Roz on Frasier. Maybe, if she had played Elaine that way from the beginning, it wouldn't have seemed so strange in later episodes. My opinion.
A writer's dream actor.
@@oriraykai3610 She finds him so hysterical she can't speak.
I love the smirk on Frank's face when she gets angry because he stops short, its like he was saying "I had to give it a try"
She is not in Korea
Yeah, I noticed that too. :D The scene is basically over but Jerry Stiller's so good you have to keep watching and he gets that look...I'd have said it was a bit "I had to give it a try", "I had to take a shot" but also, "Worth it!" A few guys have tried that with me. and I'd say they were thinking that last thing, "Worth it." but it always annoyed me that they were too impatient to let the game play out. They'd have felt them, seen them and done all manner of things with them if they played their cards right!
But they stopped short! We don't do that in France! Take me home! :D
@@andersonsmith979😂
"Quick Tempered with a strange... Halting Way Of Speaking"! LOLOLOL Gets me every time! Frank works himself into such a lather almost every time he starts talking. Thank Goodness he knows that release valve...."SERENITY NOW" Cheers Seinfeld Universe!
Serenity now! 😆👍lol
Are you supposed to yell it??? The man on the tape wasn’t specific. 😂
@@LowLevelNC LOLOLOL....Both Frank and Estelle had a tendency to "Talk Loud" when getting their points across! Enjoyed this reminder Boom slang! Cheers
Her hand movements clinched it. lmao
@@notsocrates9529 LOLOL Exactly! POINT SET MATCH
Frank was the best character in my opinion. I am never disappointed with him.
Facts
I think it was George
Him, Newman and Kramer are tied for me
we can all agree the worst character was "jerry".
George was my favorite but Frank was the same type of character.
Frank’s delivery, facial expression, and mannerisms on “This is not my kind of guy” line is absolute comedic acting perfection🤌
Facts it is absolutely hilarious how he says it.
I can't help it but laugh even though I've seen that scene many times.
That line was from drummer Buddy Rich
"I saw a moth fly out of his pocket."
Idk why but that line killed me. Such snappy writing 💗
Echoes when George sold Frank's clothes, which were infested with moths.
The moral of the story is that if someone is talking in a foreign language in front of you, they are ALWAYS making fun of you!
😄 🤣
Hahaha...was at the nail salon 2 days ago...yes...they are always saying something about you 😁😂🤣
@@patsalas5170 that's what you get for wasting your money on NAILS!
Paranoid. I jump at the chance to practice. I studied French for years. You think it's just talking to me? It's music.
I always wonder when I get a pedicure? They speak Vietnamese not Korean.
I love that Kim knows and used the "stop short" expression.
Ikr! 🤣🤣🤣
There's something special about classic shows like Seinfeld. All the support actors deliver great roles. Those ladies were all fantastic.
and they really got Korean actors. They're even speaking a regional dialect from Busan.
Frank had the moves! RIP Jerry Stiller, thanks for the laughs.
I didn’t even know he was sick
"The father would look at me and say... 'Ono... inawa... shiyo'... which means... this guy... this is not my kind of guy."
Yeah, we all watched it
@@Zeppelin927 Yeah, but this was the best line in the sequence, and one of Frank's better delivered lines overall. Warrants highlighting.
@@CompassIIDX whatever flips your skirt
Isn't that a quote from the angry drummer Buddy Rich?
I bet Jerry ad-libbed that.
😂😂😂 I love how she knows the “stop short” move 😂😂😂
Elaine standing outside looking trough the door crying allways gets me 🤣🤣
Her crying expressions were hilarious 😂😂
Reminds me of when she angered the Italian Baker guy and was banned from the store. She always goes to get help from someone else and makes it worse.
“What’s so funny?” “Sunny tell Knock Knock joke”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
They all speak Korean, but the writing on the signs is in Chinese. 😂
I never paid attention to the signs before, but you're right.
Yeah, I saw that too!
I thought that I was seeing things, but I thought those characters weren’t Korean!
Korean used to be written using Chinese characters. It still might be done for stylistic/artistic purposes.
And Kim woman is Hawaiian 😂
I love how Frank not taking his shoes off for anyone is consistent with him wearing his 👟 in the pool.
Lol Frank’s expression at the end was like “well… it was worth a shot.”
I love the way Elaine looks like she's ready to cry after getting thrown out of the salon, and Frank is still in there screaming.
The writers were gifted beyond measure and the actors were the absolute best to make their vision come to reality, well beyond even what they could think of originally! We need more Seignfeld type of synergy going on with the present scene in comedy.
Agreed! Sadly, it's not likely to happen again - there are so many hyper-offended, oversensitive people out there now. The balance is way off, it's either really plain and corny, or it's profanity filled beyond belief. Bummer.
One of the traits of good writing is not simply writing witty lines, but to make them perfectly consistent with how a particular actor would deliver those lines.
Very similar story line in King of Queens with Carrie and a Korean nail salon. I wonder if Jerry Stiller gave them that idea, lol.
There are so many funny lines in these scenes. The bit actors in Seinfeld are all so perfect - that’s the show’s special sauce. “Take your dry, brittle nails and get out!”
Yes... terrifically horrid woman
Thank you! I heard "Spy", and "GET OUT!", but couldn't understand what was in the rest of the screaming.
They really said that?? Hold on
Hahaha that makes it even more hilarious 😂
The extras on this show were funnier than the main characters of many other shows.
The anger the Korean nail shop ladies had for Elaine upon learning that Bette Midler wouldn't perform Rochelle Rochelle performance they were given tickets for- that needed no translation.
Free Broadway tickets, ungrateful b*tches
No happy endings
He once talked to the Reverend Sun Myung Moon 🌝
🌚
God I loved Jerry Stiller in this role.
Jerry and Julia had some of the best scenes together. I am sure there were many outtakes of Julia cracking up watching Jerry do his on screen magic.
That's just facts.
There’s an epic amount of outtakes for the “you want a piece of me!?!?” Exchange where they fight. Basically, they never *really* got one where Julia kept it together, lol
She cracks up a lot on the blooper reels
This guy. This is not my kinda guy.
I dunno how Julia got through those scenes with Jerry Stiller in the diner - knowing how quick she breaks and how funny Jerry is!
Jerry Stiller was able to do this character (at the highest levels of comedy) on TWO Shows,...has anyone else?
Frank's whole ladies game took a big hit when seatbelts came into place.
I died when he stopped short with her. That's his move!!
Episodes like this, with this kind of writing and set up - is what puts "Seinfeld" in the top rank of comedy greats. "Friends", are you kidding? There's no competition.
Shouldn't be mentioned together in the same breath.
I nicknamed "Friends" to "FIENDS"! When it first came out, every place I looked, they were plastered on I don't know how many magazines, newspaper articles, and clothing.
The top 3 sitcoms in no particular order are, Seinfeld, Married with Children and Two and a Half Men. One could add The Simpsons too.
Bart, Homer, Al, young Jake, George, Kramer and Frank cracked me up all the time.
Lmao 😂🤣😅 Exactamundo.
The best sitcoms of the 90s: Frasier, Malcolm in The Middle, Seinfeld, 3rd Rock From the Sun, and Arrested Development ❤
I love Elaine's facial reactions in the deli with Frank.
politely horrified is the best way to describe it
I love how you expect it to be a powerful, bold declarative statement...which translated to "ehh...this guy...not my kind of guy"
Frank probably paraphrased it.
4:50 In all these years watching this episode, I've never noticed that Frank stopped short on purpose! lol
Naughty Frank-u...
That's HIS move!
The best part was his face after the woman told him off in the car. He was like "Damn, well, I tried!"
"Like a biiiiiiiig apple pie!" Love that line.
Me too!😂
Definitely a one of a kind show.....frank was a "must see" every time I watched,..love how they sprinkled him thru out the run.
"I thought maybe you had holes in your socks." I love that for some reason 🤣
That's a typical excuse people made in Korea when they don't want to take their shoes off. LOL
Or maybe that they’re not wearing socks
It's mainly that this guy... This is not my kinda guy.
@@willc5723 Stupid reply
Lmao the moth joke. I don't know if this is before or after the episode George tried to sell his clothes and the guy burned them because they were riddled with moths but that's hilarious.
It was in the Season 5 Ep: 18 & 19 (The raincoats) before this episode. "The moth ridden Cabana crap." at Rudy's. That's a good observation on your part.

Earlier when Jerry Stiller is in Jerry's apt. with Julia, and does the stop short move, she has to turn and laugh because otherwise she wouldn't be able to stand there with a straight face. I love how they left that in the episode.

Update: I got it - I just thought I missed something
I like how Frank has a decade long foot odour problem that he's never thought to address.
A decade? This has to be at least 3 or FOUR decades.
It’s so nice to go to CZcams and watch comedies that could never be made today
I think it could. Curb Your Enthusiasm is basically Larry David's more "TV-MA" version of Seinfeld (a lot of the jokes are similar, and he even brings in the original cast from time to time).
Frank evidently learned that move in Korea
"This is not my kinda guy" is one of the lines that Jerry lifted from the Buddy Rich bus rants.
Frank went for the stop short move right off 🤣
Frank's stopping short move is a classic 👌, I MUST try it one day!!! 👍😎✌️
