    New Thermostat from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1ACT...
The thermostat controls the flow of coolant in your vehicle’s engine. When a thermostat fails, it can lead to overheating, which will damage the engine. One sign of a faulty thermostat is a cool upper radiator hose when the engine is at full operating temperature. It’s important to replace the thermostat immediately if you suspect it is failing. This video shows you how to install a new TRQ thermostat and housing in your 2002-2009 Dodge Ram 1500.

That’s got to be for a 4.7 liter engine. The 5.7 is on the top side of the water pump.

I never drain my radiator when I change the thermostat. I just make sure I have something to catch the fluid as it runs out after I remove the thermostat.

Regarding coolant orange, universal, and green. In my understanding the orange and green can’t be mixed, so in this scenario (the entire system was flushed) what is the harm of using green?

Can this be done from the top of the engine or do I need to jack it up on a lift?

If you haven't done it already, jack it up. I changed mine last week. '09 1500

+Urban Hunter Step 4 is: Check the thermostat gasket before installing
      Put the thermostat into place
Put the thermostat housing into place
Insert the two 13mm bolts into the thermostat housing

You’re gonna wanna burp that radiator if you’re just gonna fill it up manually, I’m sure you know that though, seems like you know what you’re doing
