  • Pokemon Live! was a multi-million dollar musical stage show featuring the adventures of Ash, Brock, Misty, Pikachu, Giovanni, Team Rocket and the mechanical Pokemon, MechaMew2. It premiered on Broadway at Radio City Music Hall in September of 2000 and then toured the United States and Canada. I was the Production Stage Manager on the show. The show was directed by Luis Perez of Broadway renown.

I love all the total crap the actors are saying, I bet everyone of them is thinking "I hate this show and I will regret this job for my whole life but I'm short on cash."

Honestly I hope that when Andrew becomes old and someone asks him what his favorite show he's been in was, he says this.

Hi, the Pokémon were chosen based on popularity. That is what we were told. It was not difficult for the dancers to work with two Pokémon each because we worked with that idea since day one in rehearsal. The flying Pokémon were VERY light. I wore several of them to see how they were going to be for the dancers and they were very easy because they were so light. The puppeteer that made them had worked on the Broadway production of THE LION KING and really knew how to make things light.

So, 'James' later went on to become the original Elder Price from The Book of Mormon.
