  • This is the second "Fandango" across the Fabulous Flint Hills of Kansas. You will ride shotgun next to The Sky Surfer as he flies "nap of the earth" over an area of The Great Plains of America that few have examined in this way. This is as Original As It Gets!

When the world needed him the most, he returned!!! Always excited to watch these adventures!!!! I BEG you to reconsider ending your Sky Safaris. You made Kansas look BEAUTIFUL instead of a flat boring state people normally associate it with, which is a feat in and of itself!!! The State tourism board should consider using your footage!!! Maybe for future Sky Safaris, they don't need to be as long to cut down on editing time. Even 10-15 mins on a semi-regular basis would be a blessing. Maybe take a Sky Safari outside Kansas!! I felt like I found a hidden gem when I found your Sky Surfer videos, and would hate to see them go. This was your best one yet, thanks for taking us along!!!!

      Dear Falcon,
I am honored by your post and happy that you were able to catch "Spring". I hear what you are saying with the "shorter movie idea" but I don't think it would help me much. Most of the effort involves the mounting of the cams and reviewing the footage. Just adding two cameras increased the post production time by maybe a third.
I am considering shooting some new movies with my 4K camera. I haven't come up with a theme or themes. I want to produce some movies with "legs". On the flip side, I might do some shorts regarding my thoughts about sport aviation and light aircraft. I'm thinking about it...

    Great co-pilot!
    AND
He's singing about the best co-pilot of all.
In fact He's going to take me flying one day soon... Raptured... I'm not dying yet... I don't think. If I am... I'll just go flying that much sooner.
From your previous videos and what you've said, when the Rapture happens,I think we will be flying together.
I have really enjoyed your videos, The Harper Run, The Flint Hills Fandango, Magic Time, Mustang Valley, Sun Over Severy. I've loved them all. Watched them all several times and am going to miss them.
    God Bless.
    Tony

      Dear Tony,
Thanks for the great post! My Grandson did such a great job singing about The King that I figured he needed to be in the movie. I am glad that you and others have received my message over the years. Jesus, Flying, Freedom, Creation - they are all tied together. God has given me some more years in this life, so, I need to do what I can to reveal Him to as many as possible before time runs out...

@@BrianFitzGerald-TheSkySurfer Love you brother. You've done a great job. I'll see you there... and flying??? How about flying horses when we follow Jesus back, (although I'll be in the back riding a mini-burro)... I don't care. As long as I'm there and looking at Jesus' back and not watching Him riding toward me.
      God bless. Happy flying.

One of my favorite Neil Armstrong quotes (when being congratulated about walking on the moon), “Pilots take no special joy in walking. Pilots like flying”!! Great video as usual!

Neil Armstrong was a unique fellow. He reminds me of my Dad's Buddies. After fighting in WWII and Korea, they had a different outlook on life.
The older I get the more amazed I am at what Armstrong and those guys (and the scores of engineers) did. To go to the moon and back is a REALLY BIG DEAL. People take this kind of accomplishment too casually. It was truly amazing. Also, the bravery of these guys is not spoken of enough.

Another Great video! I really enjoy them all. I'm sorry to hear that this is the last of the POVs.

Thanks, Airmail Man! Frankly, I just can't think of any more "angles" to take on the POV thing. I am considering some other movie types about Sport Aviation, though. I bought a 4K camera a couple years ago for that reason and I need to put it to work.

Sad news to hear. Sure am going to miss you Brutha Brian. Sure am going to miss your vids, but understand at the same time. Maybe one day, you'll rethink this decision and surprise us all. God Bless!

      Dear Dave,
Thanks for the uplift. I still fly a lot but just don't have any fresh ideas for the Quicksilver POV concept. I'm thinking I must do a movie to show you all my Solar Hangar. Stay tuned!

Hey Brian...do you use GYroFlow with any of your cams? Very nice footage!

Dear LJ, No. I designed all my camera mounts. Different techniques were used at the different positions on the plane. Mounting the cameras to get shots I required was an extremely complicated endeavor. Too many guys who mount cameras on planes have no art sense. One of the worst shots I have seen a lot is the mounting of a camera under the wing. Since these "goPro" type cams all have 170 degree lenses, mounting under the wing often provides a weird, stretched out, distorted "wing" at the top of the frame. It is very unpleasant. That's why I spent a lot of time working out methods to put my wing cameras fore and aft of the wing tip. Doing this is much harder than just hanging a cam at the lift strut or the wing light. "Spring Fandango" involved 8 cams and a lot of prep work. I'm pretty happy the way it turned out.
