I like how Bobby needed to chamber the rifle before he fired it into the air. He cares enough about safety to not be walking around locked and loaded when he knows he likely won’t need it. Bobby really is a stand up guy.
Bobby really was, his death was the closest I came to crying when watching this series.
@@thorbat He truly did die doing what he loved, got to give that much to the writers. Almost wound up as a cold case on account of a group of youths, after picking up a collection. That would have been a bad way to go out. You could tell Bobby didn't like the mob life. I could see him as a train conductor in real life had his father perhaps been something else.
@@Kee2Oz Yeah exactly, you can tell he was genuinely a good person but that's a bad thing when you're involved in the Mafia.
@@thorbat He did a good job taking care of Junior, its tough to see anyone else from the show that would take that obligation so seriously and without worrying about their image for doing it. And certainly anyone else in the crew would have been bitching about needing more chances to earn, long before Bobby came to Tony toward the end. I can't begin to imagine Paulie or Christopher being even slightly content with what Bobby had to deal with.
Its also tough to imagine anyone else being as heartbroken after their spouse dies as much as Bobby was. Even if Carmella died, I doubt Tony would go into the grief and depression that Bobby sank into. Christopher only slightly seemed to cared about Adriana's murder.
He may not have been the most exciting character but he was the most human I think among his peers.
Metal Man he shouldn’t have shot in the air though
The bear left joke scene is incredible. The way Tony doesn't react to it. It nearly kills me every time. 😂😂😂😂😂
That was comedy gold. Not so much at Tony not laughing, but the fact that we all know dam well, maybe a few days or even a week later, he was doing his normal routine and all of sudden remembers and now can’t stop thinking about it until it gets to the point where it more than likely became something that made him laugh to himself every time!! We all have been there before cracking up to ourselves thinking about something stupid that one friend we all have said that you either ignored at the time or tried to pay no mind to!! Bobby was the cousin or uncle we all wanted, but didn’t deserve! 😞😢
Bear Left! So we went home!
I think he doesn't laugh because it wasn't that funny but also because he didn't want Bobby to feel like he had to make jokes about himself or his dad (who Tony got killed). Aside from maybe Silvio, Bobby was by far Tony's most capable and trustworthy employee and friend.
@@flightofthebumblebee9529The Terminator? Tony didn't get him killed. He took on the job willingly because he was on his way out from his cancer anyways.

Tony eyeing Bobby's steak like Artie eyed his hostesses.
Oooohhhh
You look at me like food!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Tony was at first trying to eat healthy but ultimately gave into his temptations and got the steak and onions also. But I guess he ate the eggs and tomatoes also.
You mean Ginny Sack
Bobby confusing Quasimodo and Nostradamus, he should have been made right then and there!
He was lucky he wasn't totally ostrafied from the crew.
Bobby was 'made' during the entirety of the series. He was made long before he ever made his bones; which is why Tony made him earn them on the French guy after they had the fight @ the lake house. Bobby was made early on because of his father, and was just a bitch boy for Junior until he be came Tony's underboss. But he was made the entire series
hahahaha this comment is love
No questions asked!
don't forget Notre Damus
Bobby was accepted into the Social Club outa respect to his fawtha
Social club? He's gotta GO!!
Jackie “my fawtha” Aprille
The fundamental question is, will he be as effective as a hitter like his dad was? And he will be, even more so? But until he is, it's going to be hard to verify that he thinks he'll be more effective.
He was accepted because there was shortage and he was a type of blind follower. Not saying he was dumb, but he was bit naive and that's what Tony needed. Friendly believer instead of calculating snakes.
He never had the makings of a varsity athlete
It was that infamous “bear left” joke that ultimately got Bobby clipped. When word about the joke got to Uncle Phil in New York, the call was made to the zips right there and then. The guy was practically a calzone with legs, and never put any serious thought into salads. Besides, they couldn't let jokes like that exist at the top level of any social club. It’s embarrassing.
social club? he's gotta GO
frankly, it makes me depressed and ashamed
when he was always talkin bout greasin the union
Kyle Chilton patsy and Chrissy laughing there heads off at Chris joke 👍🏻👍🏻
He's got no respect for this thing
Tony's face when Bobby told him uncle June loved him it was like even though he was dismissing it he couldn't help but love hearing it, like the kid in him came out again seeking approval. Love sopranos for all the subtle stuff
I've rewatched this a few times, there so many underlying stories and subtle details. It's fkn amazing
I love the Soprano's for this reason. It isn't always cinematic. Sometimes people do say stupid shit. It's funny that they capture these moments. People aren't always at their best.
The Sopranos keeps having those character say dumb things in order to underscore the point that these guys are not well educated and not particularly sharp.
NC7491 common mundane and unflattering behaviours were pretty well established in the writing style, my favourite being that tony would always parrot things other characters had said to him that he thought were profound, usually to try and come across as insightful himself.

You look like a Puerto Rican whoah, makes me sick
I'm tempted to call Phil a hypocrite because of the ice cream cone, however he compromised and true it out da window as Tony was chasing him. Then again maybe the no ice cream in the car was a rule put in place after his car went askew and ended up in a major collision and he never felt like he was sitting at 12 o'clock anymore.
The way Bobby secured stool softener for Junior on a regular basis was really underrated.
He had to. Else he'd have to break Uncle Jun's rock hard stool with his fingers.

Bobby is so sweet how can you not love him by far the most gentle of the crew
He's like a giant teddy bear who can simultaneously kick Tony's ass.
@Adrian At And T Bobby's not real in reality
@Joe Blow I agree, underestimating anyone is risky. You can be kind or gentle and still be dangerous.
Like a big kid
“On the other hand anything’s possible”
Probably the least helpful answer I ever heard
somtimes it's allo that can be said though
Tony's reaction to that useless advice is great.
Unhelpful? Maybe. True? Absolutely.
That's his best friend right there. Bobby even gives Tony an assault rifle that Tony eventually uses to protect himself. No one ever gave Tony a gift like that. A gift that protects you even when the giver is dead. I loved Bobby.
Best friend in the game at least. Artie was Tony’s best buddy even if he did treat him like shit most the time.
like a friend in law?
It wasn’t until that powerful gesture by Bobby that it dawned on me. Nobody ever gave gifts like that, especially to Tony. The only gifts given between friends were favors, stuff you can get something in return for, or stuff that was stolen and cost them nothing to lose. Bobby went out and paid for that AR and gave it to Tony to keep him and his family safe. I love Bobby Bacala.
"I loved him like a brother-in-law" -Phil Leotardo
Ar 10. Full auto. Somebody give that rifle and I may have to give em some. 😂😂
Out of all the characters from this show Bobby's death hit me the hardest, he was a great character on the show.
Same!!! 😭
Involving Bobby was one of Tony's better decisions. Unfortunately it was further towards the end.
It shoulda happened sooner.
Bobby Bacala was such a great character. In my opinion, one of the most stand-up guys. That conversation between him and Tony about his promotion always seemed beautiful to me because of how they let out so much about his character being true to the game. He never tried to force a step up the leader, even if he knew he was more deserving of it than others. He tells Tony that it should have happened sooner. He was never like all the others that kept insisting for a promotion. In the end they all were either irresponsible or abusive of their new position of they got it.
Subsequently you can see tony gaugeing his intelligence after the quasimodo remark and immediately react to it. Fantastic characters

Bobby was getting more ballsy towards the end for sure, who knows, with Janice maybe he'd get the Richie special

Bobby is the exact kind of guy you want as your right hand man. Loyal, unquestioning and ready to step up and do anything.
I love that Tony attempts to eat healthy. In the end: he eats his original plate in addition to a steak. 😂
Steven Anderson
If you want to eat healthy you DO NOT eat scrambled eggs, it’s a butter fried cholesterol bomb FFS.
You want to eat healthy? Take some advice from a guy who got to be 110kg and now is 87kg with a well defined bulky muscular build (I’m 50yo) Size 52 Drop 7 (I’m european):
- Cut down the carbs and sugar, possibly never use sugar at all
- Never drink carbonated drinks, they inflate your stomach and you then need more food to reach satisfaction
- Never eat carbs after 5PM, your “night time” metabolism turns them into sugars
- Avoid eating carbs and proteins in the same meal
- avoid saturated fats like butter or margarine
Best meals. DINNER - grilled chicken breast and salad/vegetables, grilled fish and salad/vegetables, pan fried beef steak (lean cut) and steamed vegetables of choice. LUNCH - big mixed salad with boiled eggs, onions and mozzarella, pasta with simple tomato sauce and some parmigiano cheese grated on top.
You’ll feel better and loose an average of 3 to 5 kg a month if you need to :-)
ClaudeMagicbox damn bro, all this reading makes me crave a big ass plate of steak and fries and onion rings
@@ClaudeMagicbox he had his eggs done with no oil. Doubt butter was used
Scrambled eggs with tomatoes is practically a salad for Tony.
ClaudeMagicbox good to know thank you lol
I think what makes Bobby so great is that he evolved so much over the course of the show. He first appeared as a background character who was mainly comic relief and grew into a capable and reliable member of the crew. He became more ruthless but was still comparatively a softy.( he becomes more aggressive and would punish people if he wasn’t respected and he still made his money as a racketeer/ their/ blackmailer/ killer but he wasn’t a sadist/ or abusive person. granted in network shows he’d be hardcore but for cable/r rated stories he’d a decent dude.)
True, too bad he and Sil underestimated NY though when they encouraged Tony to go to war.
2:26 *Russian guy get hit by bobby shot falls out of the tree dead* 😂😂😂😂😂😂
And then comes back to life and cooks bobby alive like a cheese on a radiator grill
He'd have been made immediately. 🤔😉😁
So that’s what happened to him!!
Jocelyn Carter: I liked Bobby. To me he was too sweet to be part of the crew. He was really nice to Janice and he tried to get along with Tony. When Bobby and Tony got into that fight Bobby really felt bad about it. When he got shot and killed I cried and really felt bad for Janice.
You always make great comments thank you !

The smile Bobby gives Tony while eating the steak gets me everytime
This is the most hilarious exchange of the whole show.
Junior and Bobby are the funniest.
I love how Paulie and Chris wave their arms, it’s full of hope
Bobby was well aware of who should be allowed in the social club, Carlo as well.
They also knew who had to go
I love how when Tony asks if he made it out alive and Bobby totally does not answer his question by saying "flesh wound, maybe. Head shot, I don't know. on the other hand anything is possible" 🤣 all Tony wanted was reassurance, he got none lol
