This is the song that Israel should have represented Israel at the Eurovision. But the union rejected it, so Israel changed the words a bit. Eden sang it at a rally for the return of the abductees, in which the families of the abductees also participated. And thank you for supporting Israel. Long live Israel ❤️❤️❤️🇮🇱

The change that I noticed was the removal of the word, "cowards".

The changes:
- The melody.
- "Hours & hours & flowers" instead of "empowers" (a flower is the israeli military code name for a dead soldier (301 were murdered in the massacare).
- "Life is no game for the cowards" - I'm actually not sure but I assume she means the r@py terrorist who targeted civilians and elders and kids.
- "We got nothing to hide" instead of "I got.."
- "Take me home" instead of "take it all" (regarding the hostages)
- "NEVER AGAIN" - the meaning is obvious...
- "I'm still wet from this October rain"....... 😢
- The hebrew part was changed to:
"no need for big words / only prayers / even if it's hard to see / You (God) alway leave a little light for me" - but in this original version she says:
"There's no air to breath / there's no space / there's no me (hebrew slang for when you're emotionally crushed) from one day to the next (as in, it gets worse daily) / they are all good kids, every single one".

The amount of stoicism required by a 20 year old woman in the face of the absolute zombie herd she faced and never flinching once is quite astounding.

Eden is an amazing performer and has a very special voice in both sad and happy songs. Recommends following her songs from the television singing competition called the next star that was in Israel. She is gorgeous. This year Israel is at war after we went through a terrible massacre on October 7th and the whole country is still hurting and bleeding.... both for those who were brutally murdered and for those who are still in captivity. The song October Rain talks about the horrible massacre. 1500 Israelis, and not only... who were brutally murdered, some at the Nova music festival and some in their homes. Women, men, children, old people and even dogs 😥 Eden sings from the depths of her heart the pain of all of us. She is a good person and did not deserve the boos....She is 20 years old and came to Eurovision to develop her career, she has nothing to do with governments and what is happening. Ok, so 'Hurricane' was originally named 'October Rain' and was written by Israeli composer, Keren Peles. This lyrics was the original one. once the EBU recievced it it disqualified it, saying it was 'too political' (such words as "promise me that never again" don't sit well with Europe, for some reason), so it was changed and besically censored. On the Israeli stage Eden felt finally safe enough to cry out this song, which was dedicated to the 364 victims of the #Nova festival masscre. It sounds painfully like Hurricane because it's the original song.

The place where Eden performed the song in this video is in Tel Aviv and is now called h stage square. There is a huge table there, set for all the h stages. We know all of them by name and face, we know their stories and we need them back. The very last words in Hebrew in the original version were: they were all good kids, every one of them.

@@RadioTeo by going into Rafah, so far four were recovered but they were not alive. But at least now they can get a proper burial in Israel. we are still waiting to hear about the Bibas family, The youngest son is still a baby.

To quote from a website: "The organisers of the contest, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden, this year, took issue with Israel's original entry, October Rain, which referenced the October 7 Hamas attacks and the ongoing conflict with Palestine. As a result, the original song was banned by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for breaking rules on political neutrality.
The lyrics have now been reworked, and the title renamed Hurricane."
There are comparisons between the original lyrics and the ESC version on the internet.
I think EBU had a double standard because Jamala sang a song about a genocide of her people by Soviets and it wasn't political enough, even though Ukraine was invaded by Russia in 2014. Where is a line when expression of grief on Eurovision becomes political issue?

Eden is phenomenal!! The lyrics are sublimely meaningful and simple. I have watched this over a hundred times (no exaggeration). I actually listened to it in one day, alone, from morning to sun-down. How can a song sung by a young woman evoke the same trembling traveling upwards from the spine accompanied by weeping? Are the angels weeping with me? Is this song divinely inspired? Eden's singing these lyrics alone transcends Eurovision. A Masterpiece!!
Now, "October Rain" with only a few allterations. For myself, the true winner was the lyrical purity of Eden Golan's soul and voice. Eden personified two qualities lacking, humility, and love.

The lyrics were changed for Eurovision. They removed references to never again. The line "wet from October rain" is from the testimonies of the survivors of Nova that were buried under the bodies of their dead friends and were covered "wet" in the blood of their loved ones. The Hebrew was changed. She says she can't breath, there is no air, they were all good boys and girls.

It has more to do than being surrounded by the people.
This is the initial version which has been disqualified by ECU that runs Eurovision for being "political" so the lyrics had to be modified.
The song is not about a Hurricane but rather the Hamas massacre which took place last Oct , as well as the victims and hostages. That is why the title was October Rain.
Basically, the ending in Hebrew says it all: ( It does rime in Hebrew)
