  • I still remember back when I started learning on how to fix my own G-Shock. There're no good helpful guide or video at all regarding this topic.
    After years of experience of learning all on my own, here's how I do it. I hope this will be helpful for your future use.
    ______
    Why/When do you need this???
    1. There's 2 small O-Ring on your G-Shock that helps with water resistant, like any O-ring, they could get damage over long abuse.
    2. Applying a silicone grease on the button shaft or the hole in which it goes in could helps providing better water resistant even on brand new G-Shock.
    3. Over time, mud/dirt could get stuck in between the button and case thus causing the button to be stuck or malfunction.
    4. Even if there aren't any dirt, sweats or just water could rust the button metal shaft thus causing it to stuck and clean-up or replacement is required.
    5. Sometimes the metal panel on the movement could caught in between the E-Clip and case inside surface and damage the clip.
    6. Certain casio, protrek, baby-g, edifice would require you to remove the button for bezel/case swap.
    7. Basic G-Shock movement swap or conversion in between different series
    8. Over time, white fog could be developed on the display between the solar panel and watch crystal. Removing the button is the only way to clean and fix them.
    9. If a single side/front resin button is broken or badly scratch/damage from abuse, replacement is needed.
    10. Every basic or master of G all the way up to MRG from year 1983 to modern G-Shock today uses the same E-clip construction on every button including their metal cylinder guard. Knowing this basic knowledge is helpful in the long run don't you think?

    You make it look soooo easy. Although I didn’t expect you can just pop it off by pushing it.

    • @gshockhighfashion
      @gshockhighfashion  Před 4 lety

      You'll need steady hands and experience to push with just right amount of force to take it out. You put the tool right at the tiny gap.
      Notice that I push it downwards and not other directions. It is easier that way.

    That's tough, I only did it once in early 90s with a dw-5700 and never had the will to do it ever again.

    I figured out how to not loose these when taking off: when pushing these off, simultaneously use q-tip which has a lot of silicone greace to push the e-clip from side, that way the clip just gets stuck on the greace and don't fly off

      @gshockhighfashion  Před 4 lety +2

      That works too, I just push it downwards so when it came out it'll still be trapped somewhere inside.

    I have g shock DW 6900 bba 1 dr, I bought it just 2 month ago. I have never opened it but it has some sort of dust inside the watch on the screen. I am really disappointed by this. Plzz suggest me what should I do🙇🙇

    This is a really nicely done video. I didn't realize how tiny these were till I started doing this. I used the smallest size jeweler's flat head screw driver I had. It keeps sticking to your tool - how? 🤔. Magnetized tool?

    • @gshockhighfashion
      @gshockhighfashion  Před 4 lety +1

      The tool I used originally aren't magnetise, I did it myself. In this case I used a magnetised one. Made the job a lot easier.

    is it these circ clips which actually make contact with the module for changing the functions or do they just stop the pin from going to far back when the button is depressed?

    • @gshockhighfashion
      @gshockhighfashion  Před 5 měsíci +1

      It is there just to hold the button in place. Definitely not to interact with the movement.
