  • In this video we made a pallet puller or other people call it a pallet buster. we used 5.5 feet of inch square tubing. At $3.89 per foot the total was around 20 bucks. thanks for watching and if you have any questions drop them in the comments i'll be happy to answer.

Not to sound harsh but being good at grinding doesn't make up for not being good at welding as grinding down a bad weld just makes a weak weld even weaker
To try and get better before welding on your project take a couple scraps of similar metal and dial in your settings before you start welding on your project also when welding with thicker material put a bevel on the edge that helps with getting things to penetrate properly and it gives a place for the weld to lay in so that you're not having to grind off the bulk of your weld along with the bulk of your strength
A little bit of prep work can make welding much easier keep things clean prep your edges can you be able to get good welds out of flux core grab a wire brush and brush off the weld before you start welding again that'll help keep contaminants out that can cause porosity
But all in all nice project keep practicing keep building

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. I have never really learned how to weld so I’m teaching myself. What does it matter if I get a contaminated weld? Will it just weaken it?

@TateMurphyYT getting contaminants in the weld can cause several things
Inclusions where you have junk trapped inside the weld instead of nice solid metal
Porosity where there are gases trapped that caused the molten metal to get a lot of little bubbles think Swiss cheese weakening the weld and increasing chance of corrosion and rust
Also, it is much easier to get solid controllable electrical Arc from clean metal, dirty and contaminated metal can make the electrical Arc unpredictable, making it harder to lay down a consistent weld
When you get into gas shielded welding running standard wire with shielding gas straight CO2 or 75/25 CO2 Argon mix contaminants can cause a lot more welding splatter clean metal with shielding gas and the right settings should produce little to no welding spatter

@@TateMurphyYT I should also clarify for most applications some level of contamination is not going to hurt it's not going to weaken the the weld to the point where it will be problematic but proper cleaning and weld preparation is definitely best practice however if you get to the point where you are welding something that is safety equipment wear your life or health is dependent on it best practice is requirement if you get contaminated welds or a lot of porosity grind it out clean it off acetone is your friend when cleaning metal and try again

What did you pay for the iron, metallskrot and material?.. proberbly more than 60 dollar..

Hey Martin Ericsson. The metal only cost me $20 and for the saw I didn't include any tools in the build price. Because after all it is the build price not the all in price.

I think you better spend some money on your welding torch first, before you weld in front of the camera and make a fool of yourself with such outrageous welding

Ehh I could but out little welder works just fine and I am a very new welder. But I have several projects coming up. So maybe once I do those I’ll upgrade depending on how good I get. I said it in the video you don’t have to be a good welder if your a good grinder.
