A 'Steam Dreams' railtour from London Paddington to Kingswear, Devon on June 15th 2024.
The service was booked to be hauled from Paddington to Taunton top and tailed with two Class 47 diesels. However, one of the Class 47s was declared a failure at Southall depot so the service started from Slough, hauled by D1924 (47810) 'Crewe Diesel Depot' as far as Taunton.
LNER Thompson Class B1 61306 'Mayflower' took over from Taunton, taking the railtour down through Somerset, then along the south Devon coast to Kingswear for Dartmouth.
