Klay Thompson had an awful start to the season until he broke out against the Knicks and Rockets. People like Charles Barkley were ripping the Warriors guard but he broke out of his slump with 41 points and 10 three pointers. Despite that there are still some huge red flags for Klay and the defending champs.

I almost typed the same exact comment, there's nothing wrong with what Charles said. Also Klay can prove them wrong, there's probably a healthier way of dealing with it mentally. But my mans is using the criticism to fuel him in a positive way so it can't be all bad!!
I was watching the rockets game with my friend and we were very excited about Klay not forcing the shots. That’s the best version of Klay and his defense will come without wasting his energy on those ultra contested shots.
The only concern is the bench… it has been horrendous

I lost a teeny bit of respect of Klay for his response to Chuck's comments since they were a bit soft, but that respect was restored when I saw how he eventually handled it. There's no other way to deal with such a problem than to take accountability and reset, and he did exactly that.

One game at a time. We are going to have bumps but no big trade is going to fix this. The issues are on the court and Klay is getting past that. He was one of the reason the Dubs won the Finals with his defense on Brown (Or Tatum, one of the 2) after game 3. They are all winners, the dynasty is over only in the head of internet trolls. We will back in a video in 2 months when they dominate the league, book it.

I'm not saying everything is perfect in the team but why would I trade anyone bow if I was the Warriors knowing this group won a chip. You have to figure out Klay inefficiency on offense and Poole's slump which he's trying to get out of. But overall we are 3rd in net rating the last 7 games when we play with tighter lineups. Count us out at your peril.

As a GSW fan, I gotta say you nailed it! I don't think is going to go to the vet's minimum for his next contract, but I do think he'll accept less money to stay with GSW.
He thinks it's going to be a "problem". Klay already said he's paid very well to play for these fans and he loves the Bay. Unless his body is failing he will sign back to finish his career with the Warriors AND he will take a big paycut in the process. I'd say at around 26m a year.

This was a good take. If they trade the young guys they will flourish on other teams but what can you do? A sacrifice must be made
TBH they should send Kuminga and Moody to G league as well. They are young kids and need playing time to develop they just aren't getting the needed minutes to get better and for the game to slow down for them. All of Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody and and Baldwin should be in G League playing all game tearing it up building confidence.
Poole needs to learn how to play off the bench without Steph on the floor.

great point that this is not a Klay Thompson issue. he is a sharpshooter at this stage of his career. the whole team is in the beginnings of a transition phase. the team is no way the same mentally as it was last season. they dont have the same bench defenders and guys flat out arent as motivated to steamroll the competition. this is going to be one of those seasons where they coast into the playoffs and see if they can flip the switch when they get there. I actually dont think they are going to trade anyone unless its to somehow cut salary. their young players trade value is low and wont bring back any difference makers imo.
Klay Thompson often starts the season out slowly. Klay didn't play much before the season started so this ramp up period could be expected. Elite shooting is an NBA skill that ages like fine wine. Klay Thompson and Steph Curry will play until they're almost 40.

I watched this game live and it was crazy seeing vintage Klay again, next to Steph playing at a unanimous MVP level, but honestly outside of when Klay and Curry were on the court, the game was awful, the warriors bench and Jordan Poole were terrible that game, I felt like I was watching shaqtin a fool, the warriors went 20-38? In the 2nd quarter after being up so much in the first, and there was a long stretch where nobody scored, amazing starting lineup but the bench is struggling, maybe try and sign a guy like Otto Porter Jr who can shoot really well off the bench?

Moody, Kuminga might not be in the rotation a whole lot right now but I feel like they are more promising short and long term fits over Poole. IMO these guys are keepers.
Which career u rather have between steve Kerr and steve Nash, terms of playing and coaching days, sure 2x mvp is nice but the amount of rings Kerr has is insane, idk exact # but he’s gotta be top 5 in total rings won by anyone, player or coach
Nash has no coaching career. Kerry has been a GM and now one of the most successful coaches of all time.
Nash had a much better career though. I guess it depends if you want more personal glory than team success. If the later then Kerr both as a player and coach has been more successful

Klay admitting he was forcing it is critical. He can adjust and comeback into some semblance of the old klay. I don't think he will have a problem taking less money to stay knowing the dubs had his back when he got hurt. I think drey should stay but it's on him. He won't get max money anywhere else and he wants to stay relevant. I hope they both take 25 million yearly for a few more years and win more chips like wiggs did. I do savor all the hate because at the end of the season they are still likely to be holding up some trophies.

I get where the criticism for Klay is coming in and why people are saying it but I would love for anyone to tear their ACL not once but twice then come back and run around on the court and dunk and put all that pressure on it. After you get done dealing with a bad injury to your body it gets in your head and then that just kind of breaks down everything else. To be clear, all the key Warriors players are contracted for this season and next. Draymond Green has a player option of $27.5 mil for next season, so he could opt out but it's unlikely. Thompson still has this season and next. The only concern is that they Warriors will have a huge luxury tax bill next season if they keep all their contracted players, so they might trade away players to reduce payroll if their season goes poorly.

klay is definitely forcing it, he needs to take a step back and remember that he needs to make the extra pass and let the game come to him. he needs to keep in mind that making sure that he feeds the open man also makes his shots easier because defenses won’t key in on him cause they know he wants to shoot.

The Warriors are fine with Klay scoring 15 points but he needs to be more efficient on less shots.
When you have a great player who just came off of two horrific leg injuries, hasn't had a training camp in 3 years, yet helps his team to a chip, then doesn't play a lick of basketball in the offseason, or play a preseason game to prepare for the upcoming season, its natural to struggle early. I fully expect Klay to be Klay this season, and these last two games are just the start. If Klay was just the player from last year, this team would have a winning record already. I'm not worried, they'll be just fine.
GSW was horrible during the previous season until Klay came back, stole the slot against Mavs, then grabbing another Championship... Because Klay came back.
