This was no suicide. This was a Terrible Murder.
but who couldve killed her, they could be dead as the case was so long ago and if the police would've done something about this earlier I think that less Trans lives would be at risk .If a trans person dies the police just brush it off, like nothing happened but when a person who is not trans dies, they might get more recognition, and Marsha helped the LGBT community so much. I really don't get why People think Marsha committed suicide, she was such a happy person and would help everyone no matter what. I genuinely think it was a homicide, I think that people chased her who were on drugs or wanted to kill her because they thought that Trans people shouldn't have rights to live which I think is bs, I don't see why people think being Homosexual is bad everyone has different ways of seeing things of course but why kill people because they are who they want to be like it isn't anyone else's business to tell you what to do, you are what you are and you do what you do for a reason. i think I wrote a bit too much oops
@@huana1419 honestly the way she killed herself is SO weird. Your telling me someone killed themself with a gunshot in the BACK of her head? Bs, she was shot in the back of the head! It’s so angering. She was shot because she was trans. It’s horrible honestly.
i don’t think Marsha was shot? Her/his body was found in a river and people say her/his body started to decompose of being in the water for so long! but idk there are lots of theories. it honestly makes me so upset that Trans people are still being harassed and killed for being themselves!

She was murdered. She didn't commit suicide.
This is conclusive proof, that Marsha considered herself trans in the early 1970s, not just a gay male drag queen. Here she is in her own words:
"[Interviewer:] What about the term 'drag queen.' People in STAR prefer to use the term 'transvestite.' Can you explain the difference?
[Marsha:] A drag queen is one that usually goes to a ball, and that's the only time she gets dressed up. Transvestites live in drag. A transsexual spends most of her life in drag. I never come out of drag to go anywhere. Everywhere I go, I get all dressed up. A transvestite is still like a boy, very manly looking, a feminine boy. You wear drag here and there. When you're a transsexual, you have hormone treatments and you're on your way to a sex change, and you never come out of female clothes.
[Interviewer:] You'd be considered a pre-operative transsexual then? You don't know when you'd be able to go through the sex change?
[Marsha:] Oh, most likely this year. I'm planning to go to Sweden. I'm working very hard to go.
[Interviewer:] It's cheaper there than it is at Johns Hopkins?
[Marsha:] It's $300 for a change, but you've got to stay there a year."

The people who killed were the people who part of the mafia and I think is a police officer who's part of the Italian mob!
As part of the LGBTQ community, I never knew of her. Largely because the Lesbian Rights movement of the 80s (sadly) boycotted the Trans/sexual/vestite and Bi part of Gay/Lesbian Liberation. She's Magnificent. Minute 4:45 is spot on regarding the discrimination of Trans women. We in the LGBTQ movement must own up for our failures to bring all forward for equality/respect, and take personal responsibility to make it right!

Ive watched the doc a couple of times and something stands out to me..the guy who says he was there " when they pulled her out of the river". Kind of suspicious to me..sometimes the guilty party will insert themselves into an investigation or otherwise involve themselves. Not that the cops cared too much about the case, but just wondering who was interviewed...if anybody
i am quite intrigued about Marsha's case and it is a shame that it was 28 years ago because most people she was close with have died, but I really would love to find out how she died as it is not fair for someone to kill or even attack a person because their Transgender, I do not know if it was a Homicide or a Suicide, i think it was a Homicide as back in the 90s I don't think that many people (not everyone because I know there were people who accepted and were Heterosexual) were accepting of someone being homosexual to now. if anyone has any other information I would love to know.
Personally I doubt it was suicide, she was attacked on multiple occasions, I think she was shot once and had survived being thrown in the river before.
@@corenisveryconfused yes, i totally agree. I don't get how she/he (don't know Marsha's pronouns) could of committed suicide Marsha was a happy person I believe that she must have been attacked. Another case like Marsha's is Christine, Christine was a drag queen but she died in may 1989 unexpectingly authorities ruled her death as a suicide as most authorities do. Its very interesting yet very sad you should research it and if u do Nelson Sullivan (who is also dead of a heart attack) was One of christine's only friends. if you wanna check out more there is a channel on youtube called the '5ninthavenueproject' which has loads of clips of rupaul, Christine and all them. Nelson Sullivan filmed all of the clips but he unfortunately died but he wanted to start a show because they didn't know about youtube at the time it was between the 1980's if I'm correct? Another thing which was very interesting again sad was Michael Alig, Michael Alig started something called the club kids in the 1980's and they did drugs and all sorts and partied stuff like that and Christine was also involved In the club kids occasionally i think not sure. Michael Alig also killed someone there is a movie called 'Party Monster' made in 2003 which was dedicated to Michael Alig and the Club kids, Michael Alig directed it of course, it is quite a gruesome and talks about drugs and things like that so just be aware. Michael Alig is dead now he passed away on 25 December 2020 which is unfortunate. Another thing, last thing because i know you don't want me to chatter all day about this lol yeah so another thing is Michael Alig made a show with someone i have forgotten their name made a show called peeew! and they have over 500 episodes and on episode 19 he talks about party monster (his film). One more thing he also talked about Christine in something I'm not sure i remembered now it was again on the peeew! show it was episode 251 at 8:24 minutes Michael Alig talks about Christine's death and how he felt and i was genuinely sad about what he said that he did expect it because she was at the edge of death. Christine got in a fight with someone when she was performing because i know Michael mentioned it in the video basically she got in a fight and she was going to court the next day for trial and she was apparently scared and worried according to Michael. Nelson Sullivan her friend as i mentioned found her dead at the Chelsea Hotel. There are 2 parts of Nelson visiting Christina called 'visiting Christina part 1' and the other video of course is 'visting Christina part 2'. There is also a video on the 5ninthavenueproject of Nelson talking about Christina and her death to his friends and his friends were very nice and one of them was Michael Musto i believe and he was also involved in the club kids with Michael Alig i will try and find what it is called i cant find it unfortuanetly but i did find a video called 'Nelson Sullivan discusses the reality of video in the Chelsea Hotel' which was filmed april 1989 which was one month before christina's death and you can tell Christina was messed up, poor Christina. Christina was diagnosed with schizophrenia if you dont know what it is, it is a long-term mental health condition that their thoughts dont always distinguish their own thoughts and idea's from reality according to Christina's girlfriend I'm not sure i have mentioned this but Christina was a drag queen and his real name was Chris and I'm not sure what his/her sexuality was. That's very, very sad story of Marsha and many others. Who might have gone through many humiliation and torture... why was she killed ? Marsha fought and struggled to get rights , for the gay community.. give respect and treat them equally.. Marsha should get justice 😢
I just find the whole "People of Colour" no different to saying coloured folk. I'm sure that most races come in all sorts of colours.

She was known as Marsha and she wanted to be known as Marsha.
