@@AshtonHennessy7 what do you mean how so? we have won more trophies than any other town team and are the only town team to be in the top 10 most successful clubs in England therefore making us the most successful town team
What about Ipswich? First division champions in 1962, F.A Cup winners in 1978 AND UEFA cup winners in 1981. We have achieved more than blackburn ever had, and we beat them TWICE in 1991/92. Bobby Robson may I add???
Look up our honours then that'll answer your question. You won 2 euro trophies so fair play to that but domestically Blackburn are far superior than Ipswich for trophies won

As a life long Rovers fan, I was lucky enough to witness this success. I was 21 at the time. I also remember the Full members cup win too, back in the mid eighties.

I preferred going pre the "glory days" tbh, at least you knew the bloke stood/sat next to you was a true fan and not some plastic, grumbling,clueless glory seeking knob that attached itself to the club when the success came...... and quickly disappeared when it went. No blame on J Walker though, good man and missed.

7.40 it was Sutton who dropped in, Shearer led the line, sometimes he would drift wide but he was always the focal point of the attack, Sutton was the link man if we were protecting a lead or away from home particually in the second half of the season Sutton would often almost become an extra mifielder
We lived the dream, along with our very own, Uncle jack, god bless you ! what a fan this guy was, a fan like no other !

Why do you think they have been so ineffective?
In all fairness. It wasn't 100% there fault. When they took over, yes they didn't know what they were doing but they got scammed into buying players for millions who were utter crap. After that they didnt trust anyone for many years until bowyer stepped in where they finally gained trust.

Jack took full control of the club at the start of ‘91, it’s not unfair to say they bounced back and forth in the 70s and 80s.
@@callum5392 no, they spent the whole 80’s in the 2nd tier. They went down to the third in the mid to late 70’s.
86-90 they got into the playoffs until they sacked Don Mackay and got Kenny then won the playoffs in 91 after blowing a huge lead with 6 defeats and needed a last day win to make playoffs…Plymouth I think, but not sure…
Playoff was first time in the newly opened, but unfinished Darwen End to watch Derby away on a big screen.

And was terrible before Dalglish came in, passed to an opposition player more, literally. Winning 1-0 v Liverpool in their prime late 80’s, injury time cross he tried to control it and it bounced off him into the net.
But he was a workhorse shows how good a manager Dalglish was plus Rovers didn’t buy a whole team, Wilcox too was at bottom of 2nd division and every player, including Shearer, never played better anywhere else (Maybe Berg at Utd).
Season ticket from 83 at 6 til 13 when I knew I was being ripped off ( with a 3 season gap including the title winning season sold programs as I turned 16, left school so had to buy my own tickets, which weren’t £3 kid £5 Adult anymore! Got to sit in any empty seat & Kenny parked his car outside our “office”, walked through to get in & always talked. Great guy…although struggled to understand him. Got to know my ( & others) names. Arrogant bastard though.
Once said “I got a present for yous” we thought wicked, cos that’s how we talked then, a piece of expensive memorabilia? No…Kenny’s 101 Greatest Goals.
Knew Commercial managers & ex player, Ken Beamish son from school so one day he left me & another mate in his massive house, next door to Ripley’s so we looked around. Bagged myself a Rovets shirt with ‘Champions’ for name 95 number. Also signed by most players, Dalglish and Shearer are clear. Plus old player who’d played for Rovers & England…one or two in the England 66 squad. One of a kind.

They upset the rich cartel media darlings who'd had it their own way too long. They pissed everybody off except their own limited fanbase and plenty are still bitter towards little old Rovers to this day. Wonderful stuff.

@@gregclayton7525 The big difference being , Jack was a boyhood Rovers supporter, he loved his club,Sheik Mansoor, like Abramovich were just rich business men, not fans of the club whatsoever. Now that to me, makes all the difference.And if you can't understand the difference, I wont waste my time explaining !
