This video blows me away. Ken Lee out here in an apartment parking lot or somewhere or 'nuther dismounting and mounting a tire, bead seated, proper pressure, ready to go in his jammies and bedroom slippers with one brief look at the camera, not a curse word or any excitement at all. Nobody else! I would have died of blood loss from my injuries from trying to do just that with my hard hat, steel toed boots, and face shield in place. White guy somewhere on youtube trying to do the same sweatin' and carryin' on got it done but bead not seated, no proper tire pressure and havin' a time! Where you live Ken Lee? I need to buy you a beer or somethin' for this great vid!

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or if you really do like the video.
If the video helped you or gave you some good ideas or even if you just found it amusing, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
If you're being sarcastic or mean or something, that's OK too. You probably get some kind of satisfaction out of leaving negative comments, haha.

+Ken Lee I am not being sarcastic. When the video first started I was ready to really make a lot of sarcastic comments because of the way you were dressed and the temporary nature of the tire changer mounting on a pallet. But as it went on I became a big fan of yours. So it's all good. So your video really pumped me up. I was cheering for you at the end. I may have been exaggerating my own lack of ability but certainly not yours. I was praising your ability to do in your lounging clothes what I could not even do in my steeltoed boots. Your silence and low key attitude are to be praised. To me you are saying, "This is no big deal." And that is encouraging to the rest of us. Thank you again, Ken Lee.

I have since mounted it to my garage floor. It's nice and sturdy now. I just did 12 mount and balances in the past month. It gets easier every time. I pick up wheel weights whenever I see them in parking lots, especially outside the tire places at Walmart or Sears. Glad you liked the video.

You still need to balance afterwards. I've had good success with the harbor freight bubble balancer and their stick on weights.
You may want to buy some new valve stems and also. I got mine in a 100 pack shipped from overseas. They were extremely cheap. Oh you'll also need a valve stem tool. They'll be cheapest from eBay again. Your Walmart may be the best proceed locally for the stems and tool.

Buy the changer, balancer, tool, and weights separately with coupons and you'll have a bunch of free screwdrivers and work lights too!

Other than that, your vid could've only been made better if you'd have had your breakfast off on the side, maybe a nice stack of pancakes and a cup of coffee to enjoy while you were muscling that tire off. I mean, as long as you were still in your pajamas . . .

Did you eventually get it done? The purpose of this video wasn't to mislead people. Sorry if my video led you to waste money.
It's really not all that difficult. You gotta remember that the smallest part of the rim is in the middle somewhere between the two beads. You always want to push the opposite side of the tire down off the bead to give you the most play. If you force it, you could damage the bead.
Please let me know if I can be of any assistance at all.

My compressor will glo up to 150psi, but it only took about 40psi to set the bead on these tires. I did have to remove the core to get air in quick enough to seal the bead on these - the sidewalls were every thin and flimsy on these tires.

    • @Ken99287
      @Ken99287  Před 8 lety +1

It's worked very well. I find that mounting low profile or older harder tires are more difficult.
I've been balancing with the harbor freight bubble balancer (the older model I bought about 10 years ago) with great success. I use the harbor freight stick on weights. no shakes even 90+mph. The trick is to get the wheel centered properly on the cone.

Its diameter is smallest there and will give you the most room to work. you can see in this video where I was struggling until I pushed the opposite side of the tire into that "well" in the center of the wheel.

i just got one of these because i am "tired" of paying for this service. I used the 4th of July sale! also got the motorcycle attachment and I have a bubble balancer on the way, i got it for dirty ass cheap on eBay, 13 dollars! so everything for under 75.00 bucks!
, i was looking for a way to make a base that i can detach and store away the machine till I need it again though because my wife is freaking out about the looks of it LOL> the pallet idea is awesome and FREE! but I have to find a place to put the contraption. Funny, i have that same organizer box as well.
i was thinking of marketing a frame out of old 2x6 decking and filling in the middle with a CROSS to bolt into the center, that way it would be the same diameter as the pallet but skinnier to store. maybe i could make it fold up with some heavy hinges. Still planning. LOL I need to change my trailer tires fast though so I might just go grab a pallet for now like you have here. Thanks Awesome Video

Larry Leisuresuit I ended up placing anchors into the concrete floor of my garage so I can bolt it down and unbolt it quickly. You just drill into the concrete, and the anchors are out into the holes and you wack it with a hammer. It wedges into the hole and leaves you with a threaded hole you can run a bolt into.

    • @larryleisuresuit9584
      @larryleisuresuit9584 Před 6 lety

I thought of that also, then just keep the bolts handy, But I don't have space inside my garage and the concrete outside I think will just fill in my anchor holes with dirt and stuff, definitely wont be able to find them in the winter ( Snow) . it really would be cool to just grab it and bolt it to the ground though like you say, i might do it anyway and hope that nothing gets in there that i cant blow out with the air nozzle.
oh! maybe i can find some caps that can come out easy and snap in that makes the holes covered.

I really need to ask you a personal question. I was looking at tire changing videos when I caught yours; and I really need your advice badly. My wife is Chinese; and she has the exact same character you seem to have. She does not talk or communicate at all. We are having serious marital problems because she gets upset with me; and I don't even know why because she never complains outwardly. She lets pressure build inside; and then she reacts very harshly (talking divorce), when I never even knew she had a problem to begin with. And on top of that she can't even seem to express what her problem really is. Note, she speaks very good English, so that's not the problem. Do you have any advice for a Caucasian man who is trying to understand an Asian woman? I know this is a strange request; but I am very desperate at this point. Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

+Bob Simmons Wait a minute, are you saying your wife doesn't nag? I find that both refreshing and disappointing. Had I known Chinese women make such good wives, I assure you, my life today would certainly be brighter and quieter. You say she becomes angry and by the time you figure it out, it comes out at you like an avalanche. Is it anything you do or is it something you are that makes her internalized her emotions? Is she introverted around you and others or just you when having your fifth meal of the day? BTW, how much do you weigh and are you able to see both your feet while standing up? I'm not trying to be funny, but merely attempting to figure out the psychological and emotional state of your wife. Chinese women are extremely intelligent and they tend to have unrealistic expectations of their husbands.

I assure you, I am not joking. I am seeking any advice you may have regarding Chinese women. It is very hard to know what she is thinking because she never talks. She just keeps things bottled up inside. One thing I have learned is to be very careful when she's chopping meat with a butcher knife. Don't ever upset a Chinese woman when she's holding a sharp knife. That much I know...

Being married to a quiet Chinese woman may sound good; but believe me it is very difficult, because you never know what she's thinking. They're like cats...very smart and cunning. When they first come to America, they may be somewhat naive; but believe me it doesn't take long for them to wise up.
To answer your question "Did I do anything to upset her?" Of course I did; she has her reasons. That I do not deny. However, I wish that she would tell me up front, when something is bothering her, instead of waiting until the breaking point.
It seems to me that Chinese people are very peaceful; and they do not wish to make trouble. And that may explain why they wait so long to verbalize their emotions. Outwardly, she is very peaceful. That is, until the shit hits the fan. I take that back, even when she leaves it's peaceful. She gives you a kiss; and has some excuse for going out; but she leaves a note behind and never returns.
The only time you really have to be careful with a Chinese woman is when she is carving meat. If she is wielding a sharp knife, it is best not to start an argument. This much I have learned; and, believe me, they keep their knives very sharp. They can cut through bone.
To answer your questions about food...She cooks all day long when she is off work. She loves to cook; but she does not eat very much. The refrigerator can barely close; and I don't like to waist food, so I try to eat it all. I am not that fat; but when I met her I was 135 lbs; and recently I was up to 180 lbs (I am 5'9"). When she left this last time (2 months ago), I dropped 20 lbs. in two weeks. I feel great, and the refrigerator is empty. Believe me, I hate food now.
Yes, I agree they are very smart and cunning, like a cat. White men usually under estimate their intelligence. And yes, they demand a lot from their husbands. Basically, when it comes down to it, they expect us to earn LOTS of money. They can never get enough money; and they do not really seem to enjoy life, as they do not have an interesting hobbies. They just eat and shop.
Do you still think you would like a Chinese woman? I am curious what you think, based on my experience.

Hi Bob Simmons, I read your comment and I realize you share the same problem as most people do. I am Asian and I married to to an Asian woman. I see a lot more divorce in the USA then where I am from. After 26 years of marriage, I realize everything happen for a reason, so I have a reason for everything I do.
Really understanding yourself as to why you do what you do, you believe what you believe, and you are who you are, is the key to understand others; but don't expect others to understand you. Every person maybe at a different level of understanding and reasoning. So what I found is; it is easier to change myself then it is to change someone else. These are some of the things I have changed or realized in my life, which make who I am.
Be fair, be reasonable, be honest, know truth for myths, have a purpose for everything I do, be logical, tell it like it is, be open, do the right thing for all, don't make someone your everything because once they are gone you have nothing, know that the one person you can change is yourself, nothing last forever, death or unconsciousness is true peace, don't expect anything from anyone and you will never be disappointed, give thanks, everyone have their own free well.
Trying to keep everything short, so these are some of the things that I have realized, know, changed, or practice in my own life. Good luck.

My wife left and took my teenaged kids. She is leaving the country. I found out what her problem is...She has a personality disorder called "covert narcissism." I didn't realize it; but she has been emotionally abusing me for the past 20 years. I had two nervous breakdowns; and I was beginning to turn to alcohol in order to cope. In the last months she was with me, I was beginning to have serious health problems.
Since she left, I haven't felt better. I am back to the man I was 20 years ago, before I met her. I have lost 35 pounds; and my health has been restored. Who would have thought that a woman could have such a negative effect on them, like that? When she first left, I was suicidal; but my spirit bounced back quickly, especially once I realized that I was, in fact, a victim of abuse.
Now my son, who is living with her, is beginning to face the ill effects that I had, because now she is putting all her negative energy on him. He has gained 35 pounds; and he sounds pretty down. I told him that he needs to break free from that bitch, otherwise she's going to do to him what she did to me. Honestly, the woman is demon possessed. I'm not joking. Beware of Narcissists...I am not kidding.
By the way, I think Narcissist demons run rampant in Chinese women. From what I have seen, they run their husbands into the ground. Chinese women are mindless drones. They are terminator machines. Goodbye and good riddance to that bitch.
