Even though it was such a strong hand, I think folding kings in that spot was the right play. While not at the table with you (maybe someday), it really seemed like the two hands that made the most sense were QxJc or QxAc, that latter of which seemed more likely. Nice score and better luck for a deeper run next time.

Wondering on that KK - if you knew you'd be so conflicted on an Ah/d/s river, shouldn't you bet pot or jam turn?
You seem like you're getting back into the swing of it after a few bad runs. Good post-game thoughts and not letting the negative mindset take over. Fair call with T9 on the flop but I'd run from aggression with the paired board on the turn. KK looked like good play to me with a possible Ac giving you nut flush - unlucky river but good fold IMO. Agreed A3 in SB was possibly a bit light but reasonable - I'd personally fold with enough seats in play and next round of blinds not posing an immediate threat to the stack. Definitely no "wrong" plays here - keep it up and gratz on bounties and the FT cash.
Bounties are always fun. Way more aggro play.
Don't give the KK fold a 2nd thought. Maybe shove turn w/SPR of 1, but then you may have gotten called anyway. A3d was a punt with the action in front of you. 12BB is time to wait for either a better hand or a chance to bet first.
To be fair it was 6.5BB and you could argue 3 BB with the ante but I still agree with you that it was a fold in that specific spot. There was even a chance that chip leader knocks Foxen out and you ladder up a spot, so for that reason alone it's a fold.
Gotta love watching in my blanket sweatshirt at home while Ethan is wearing his lol. I might have called the kings hand if I knew how much Foxen had, just because it's a flip for next out. Either way such a horrible river card, jam before he calls with AQ, just don't feel the Ace hitting him calling all that way, unless it gave him 2 pair.
If only ALL tournaments had a start like that? They usually DO... it's just that the player who has the AA is usually someone else...

I had AcQx on the Q84ccc hand. Good river fold
So he knows a red ace is bad. But let's say a club had hit. Now he's not sure if that was a good card or a bad card. That's why I'd rather get more in on the turn so I'm not in a bad river spot. This whole idea that he "only had to fade 2 aces" isn't so clear-cut as I see it.

He is literally only afraid of two non club aces. He didn’t want a fold, he wanted a call. He played the hand perfectly.
Only afraid of 2 non club aces??? So there's zero chance his opponent was holding the Ac when he led out on the river??? ...I highly doubt that!!! The Ac is THE perfect candidate to check call, check call, lead river. Every street was a very small bet to pot ratio. We'll never know what his opponent had and if he COULD of gotten him off of it...but he'll, I play small buy-in tournaments...what do I know

Question from my last tournament I played. I have 9 BB in the small Blind and the chip leader opens to 2.5 bigs on the button. I jammed with A5 HH . Is that a mistake ? She had A10 DD. I don’t want to be results oriented so just wanted to check

I thought you played masterfully, but I wish you called the shove with kings when the river was an ace. It's no easy call and either play can be argued as good or bad, but given the stack sizes, I'm always calling and falling on my sword. Anyway, congratulations and thanks for sharing.

I hate when I forget my suits and have to recheck after the flop on a suited board. I see that as the biggest tell that best case you only have one card that matches the three out there. Which makes a bluff or shove on the river easier when the fourth club doesn't come out
U can use that move as a bluff too
i check everytime every hand suited or offsuited for that same reason. #BALANCE

On the Kings hand; he coulda been slow play'n a flush w/o ace. Wait to see if the board makes a four flush in case the opponent is play'n the Ace, no four flush then jam. Something like J/T clubs where if there's one more club his hand ain't good but only 3 clubs and his flush wins. What do you think?

How do they keep track of the progressive bounties in a live tournament? I've only seen this tournament format online.
Doesn't the ultimate winner end up with all the bounties? Or am I not understanding how it works?

@@savage9436 Thanks, that makes more sense. I was confused because it seemed like Ethan was talking about some players as if they counted more for a bounty if you knocked them out--but that's probably because the people shooting for them already had some bounties and would get the bonus.
