- in the return of the jedi making of book, George Lucas explains that everyone in Star Wars can use the force. EVERYONE. It is only the ones who train for it, that develop it. How do you think Watto would do as a force user? Would he have a high potential, or would he be mediocre?
If Anakin never trained, how do you think he would be?
Obi-Wan had to train very hard in order to be as good as he was, while Mace Windu didn't need as much training to achieve his results.
I believe theres a difference with potential and just anyone being able to use the force.

What do you guys think about this? Do you think Watto could have used the force if he really trained and was "into that sort of thing"?
The Force is such a complex yet simplistic idea that many don’t realize is such a unique concept to think of. George Lucas is such a genius!
“The Force is in all of us.” - Bastila Shan
I thought it's energy that surrounds all living things and binds them altogether. Any living thing can just tap into it if they use and spread their feelings.
The force is within all of us.
I love learning about George Lucas’ thoughts on any aspect of Star Wars
am i the only one who tried to use the force as a kid?
I used the force to like this video
I never understood why this was so confusing and upsetting for some. The midichlorians thing is just a scientific way of explaining someones natural connection to the force. It doesn't mean they are more powerful, only that they have a natural affinity for it, meaning they will have to train less to achieve the same success as others.
I feel like this lends more credence to the theory that my man Han Solo was force sensitive. He’s WAY to lucky to not be tapping into something
Having more midichlorians makes it easier to learn and master the force. The Jedi also only seek out children with high midichlorians.
“It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.”
George Lucas: every one can use the force.
“The Force Doesn’t belong to any one person. It is something inside all of us. We just find it in different ways”
"Someone can raise a ship"
I really like this interpretation. I actually never got the impression from the OT that only the Jedi could use the Force. Obi-Wan’s described it as something that “connects and penetrates all living beings”, and Yoda’s teaching suggested that using it was akin to Faith: trusting and believing that the Force could do things seemingly impossible to you without it. Some people had a greater natural affinity for the Force than others, but there’s no implied exclusivity. The same is true for faith in real life. Some people have no trouble having faith in something, and to others the idea is absurd, but faith itself is a thing everyone can embrace. That’s how I always saw the Force and the Jedi, as an expression of faith. That’s why the Jedi are monks.
Yeah like that monk Chirrut from Rogue One. Few midichlorians but a strong focus on force. "I'm one with the Force, the Force is with me."
George Lucas: "Everyone can use the Force"
I liked the idea that the only thing separating an ordinary person and a jedi was the resolve and will to tap into the Force and understand it, as opposed to the "you won the genetic lottery" explanation in canon. Even OB1, who is considered lower tier in terms of force sensitivity is still probably one in a million in terms of midi count.
"Thats not how the force works"
