    Very helpful for me thank you! Since I don't do this for a living and just as a home owner, I'll probably just use the gear clamp method.

    Try keeping the hand with the recip saw stationary while rotating the pipe with your left hand .

    Easy way it to use a wide rubber band. Mark hot many inches from the end you need to cut in four places. Put the rubbed band around the pipe and pinch the extra so it’s tight, and move it to where your marks just show. Using a permanent marker mark all the way around the rubber band. Take the band off and make your cut.

    The hose clamp method works EXCEPT you need to rotate the clamp at least once because the screw cage protrudes beyond the line of the clamp and will push your blade out of alignment. Also, for safety reasons it's better to be cutting with the pipe suspended over a bench or board and not your knee.

    What would you recommend to cut old, very brittle cpvc pipe? I have a leak in the wall that I need to cut out and replace, but I’ve heard that if you put much pressure on old cpvc that it will splinter and crack. Thank you!

    Tip: mark BOTH sides of the measuring tape - you get 2 marks for the price of 1 measurement and double the guide value.

    @3:20 “Place your thumb next to the blade before it speeds up” ??? Not sure this will work for many DYI folks. I did like the pipe clamp idea but not pacing your thumb or the blade idea

    Do you bevel edges with a tool before inserting into joint or coupler ?

      Always clean the joint of the rough edges or it can build up debris over time.

    No question on your experience, but it does cause signs of concern having the blade so close to your hand and leg without any safety measures.

      Not really sure how you guys cut your pipes in crawlspaces and attics that you can't even spin your body. Sawzall easiest tool to cut all sizes in worst conditions.
