Dock Repair - Replace Corroded Cross Braces With New, DIY Galvanized Braces

Summertime has come to the lake, but my wooden dock is about 20 years old and the galvanized steel items are corroding badly. I think I can get one more season out of the platforms, but the cross braces are so rusted they crumble in my hands. Premade cross braces from a dock supplier are about twice the cost of the equivalent sized galvanized pipe from the big box store, so I decided to DIY myself some cross braces to get me through the season. Not only did the braces turn out great, the process of beating the ends flat turned out to be very therapeutic!
