@FunkyMonk6 Rocco was, is and always will be a frickin' legend... He had a soft heart with a pretend grumpy exterior... He was always so kind to my mom, all the way to the end. They both left this world within months of each other. At one point his eyes got so bad that he couldn't drive. I would pick him up to see my mom... Then he would offer to buy lunch. But he had to put up with my silly antics of making funny videos. Somewhere I've got a video of us in the car and I panned to him and my phone put a mouse filter on his face! Ha ha! He endured the torture because he knew I did it out of pure love. Now they are together, probably enjoying music in heaven... 🎶
Great stories. Thanks for that. My Mom and Rocco were real close...she was his daughter. Different Rocco. This one was a Fedele from Italy. What a bass player yours was. Mine had an Oakland dairy farm during the depression and my aunt helped deliver hks milk as a kid. Farms...in Oakland? yep..near the Estuary. Im sure this one was with T.O.P. during East Bay Grease days? What a great band. I had all rheir records.

So great to hear some TOP hits in a "jazz combo" setting. It really makes @davidgaribaldi and @francisroccoprestia parts really shine. Rocco seems like such a cool dude.
Granpa Rocco from Calsbria played guitar. So do I... since 64 after hatching in Oakland on Pill Hill 52. Grew up one East Bay Greade nd still gettn funky! What a tight group o funktsas!
So great, thanks for sharing! Love that Rocco and Dave are nailing the forms of everything, and Lenny is clearly not reading his charts and messing the form up on a lot of em haha! Love this era of Dave's playing and getting to hear both of them front and center.
Totally agree. I'm a lifelong funkateer, and when I'm occasionally asked why ToP isn't among my favorite funk bands, I simply say it's because of the songs. They were/are absolutely world-class musicians, but most of the songs aren't very memorable.
Rocco was one of my closest and best friends in life .
охренеть можно!
Your friend was an outstanding and influential bass player. I’m sorry for the loss of your friend. His music will live forever.
Top of their games in '98. The great chops but also the maturity in their approach to the music. Masters.
Rocco = unexpected and brilliant. Garabaldi = unusual and beautiful rythms, always right on time.
Rocco is a living bass legend for ever !!!! although the tragedy he is a walking soul among the good part of this world
My all time favorite bassplayer! RIP Rocco. ✌🏼👊🏼💯
He was one of my mom's best friends... Love you Rocco! Miss you... ❤

They are using the banks instead
Very good musicians and top bass player. The main problem is they didn't have good songs, I mean "real songs" with strong melody ( cf : EWF ...)
