  • This is the first field test of the ACEBEAM P18 Defender Flashlight. I want to thank ACEBEAM for sending me products and making these reviews possible.
The review was filmed at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano, Texas. The Daily mode and Low, Medium, High, and Turbo output levels were tested under realistic conditions. While no moon was out, there was light pollution from the surrounding city.
For those in law enforcement, a photonic barrier test in the parking lot is part of the review.
I know that many viewers are interested in how the P18 compares to the P17. That comparison video is coming soon.

My favorite EDC is Nitcore New P30...It's a spot/flood...I use 70 lumens/7,600cd/23hrs/175m...I walk bike paths and it's overkill...also punches street lights easily...This is the farthest throw EDC and the brightest!

Nice big light! I shifted my EDC from PD35 V3 (1 inch tube light) to TK22 Tac (40mm head). It doesn't actually bother me much aside from the head prints more in the pocket. I also carry it during the day

@NK I were 5.11 Striker pants and you can't even tell I have it on me

Great video. What is the throw light on your left shoulder if you don't mind

ACEBEAM L19 V2. In extreme circumstances, I might switch in an LEP light. Just depends on what I know about the terrain in advance of an op. Not sure? L19 V2. Thanks!

@@L5-SAR just ordered one because of your occupation. Someone I can trust. I really was looking at a Lep but the l19 looks a little more usable for hunting. Lep look very tight very tight

LEP's are great for long-range spot identification. I typically use them as part of a thermal-first strategy. Thermal for the detection; LEP along with a magnified optic for identification. Thank you.

Are there a lot of snakes out when you do Search and Rescue?

Depends on the location and time of the year. The warmer, the more likely. I always wear thick, composite-toe boots, Snake Guardz gaitors, and knee pads. Thank you.

What is all the stuff in the air? Those look like extremely large particles. Doesn't seem like your everyday dust.

Sometimes, depending on the time of year, the wind can whip up some pretty heavy particulates. But, I like testing under challenging conditions. Thank you.

@L5-SAR It's crazy what we breathe in on a daily basis. Very good review, btw.

Indeed ... and I breath it all the time :). Thank you.
