    This review was literally everything I needed, thank you so much. The slight difference (massive to my ear but I'm annoyingly picky) between the Openrun and Openrun Pro makes a HUGE difference to me for work! I wasn't going to spend the $40 on the upgrade ESPECIALLY with the drop to IP55 from IP67 but your review has completely changed my mind. Can't thank you enough.

    Thanks bunches for your efforts to convey the mic and playback sound qualities. I believe the Pro and Com are the mic winners in the BC market. Particularly for noise cancelation. My own voice memos from the Pro and com were nicer than yours but it was reassuring to hear your samples follow the same trends. Even my Move sounds better then the Run/pex. My shokz are jealous of other headsets though and usually need to be re-paired after a "night out"

    I can keep them on my head all day and not even notice. I can get in my car, work out, go into a conference & even answer another phone by holding it to my ear and it still works great.

    The mic elements themselves are just one factor. The mic preamps, DSP, housing, placement (as you mention), and A/D stage all play a role. It sounds like the Open Run Pros simply have higher headroom, either from the preamp, A/D or both, and maybe a little better DSP. I honestly think they sound a little better (more lows) than the Open Comm, or at least on par. A better test would be with lots of background noise, I'm guessing the OpenComm would excel there since the mic is dedicated and closer to the mouth.

    Daniel, a few questions to Opencomm: 1) when used with zoom, do they switch off zoom's noise cancelation, like Jabra does? (both noise cancelation systems on can be a problem), 2) can it work with 2 devices simultaneously with easy switching between them when for instance you see an incoming call on your mobile? 3) which one would you recommend for two usecases: - office work with MS Teams calls, - conducting yoga online sessions via zoom? thanks

    • @neverenoughtech
      @neverenoughtech  Před rokem +2

      There is multipoint pairing so if you set that up switching is pretty seamless. I’ve used opencomm with teams for countless hours … never had a complaint on sound … same with zoom but I can’t speak to the double noise cancelling at the moment. The opencomms are a lot more comfortable but looser. I want to say opencomm for your cases assuming you aren’t going upside down

    • @wojciechczupta
      @wojciechczupta Před rokem +1

      @@neverenoughtech this is an important insight - I tried on Openruns in a nearby shop an they felt a bit tight for a few hours confcall scenario. Though for yoga I do so called downward dog, or simple bend forward all the way down, when the head is partially upside down. It is still enough for airpods (the basic model) to stay inside the ears. Also Openrun mic sounds decent when recorded to mobile phone voice recorder but I could hear all background noises.

      @@walesadanto8277 I got the OpenRun Pro for a few days and maybe can share a bit of initial thoughts.
      Pros: It's comfortable, and mic quality is good enough for the relatively quiet environment I use them for calls. The most interesting thing I found is that the mic is very directional. They've designed it so that only sound coming from the direction of your mouth is captured (while you have it on).
      Cons: Can use a bit more loudness for voice calls. Maybe it's just me, but I have to put volume up to 90~100% on my laptop for me to hear OK on Zoom and Skype, as opposed to 50~60% for my normal headsets. Music is louder for some reason.
