hi, this is the reflector i bought. It comes with the aluminum reflector and the tempered glass. I slid off the glass cover and removed the lightbulb socket. The glass is used as a removable barrier seal. The rest of the solar oven will need to be made from cardboard or wood. My cardboard prototype seems sufficient for long term use just as it is. But i plan to make a more permanent model out of wood.

I love this! Down here in GA, we can bake food in our vehicles during the summer lol. I have always wanted a solar oven/dehydrator. I cannot wait to see your finished project.

Do you have a video that shows how you built this oven? What a money-saver it is!

I have saved the tempered glass from a dinning table (its HEAVY) in hopes of making a big solar oven that will cook multiple items at once. I still haven't gotten around to getting serious about starting the project. So I can't wait to see how you make the final design. I'm hoping to learn a few things - what worked & perhaps what didn't. Looking forward to it!

I just found him today as well-it was top on my recommended list, and I'd never seen him prior. I too am looking for the updated version of the solar oven-glad to see I'm not the only one wondering. 🤷‍♀️

I got here from his permanent build. It's a nice design... all you need is the space to store the oven and reflector, or build a folding reflector.

thanks. i'm interested to see how hot it gets with a thick wood box and air tight sealing. Im going to try to make it easily transportable too.

Any issues with flies or bugs getting on the food, or does the heat in the box keep them away?
