    Victorinox RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!
You get everything that the Camper, Climber, and Huntsman have but you also get a file/metal saw, chisel and 3rd screwdriver.
The Huntsman Lite is also a great choice because you get an LED light and an inline Phillip's driver along with the standard Huntsman toolset.

I think the Ranger is the Victorinox to go. Only 2mm more than the Huntsman. The tool density is the most in a SAK. Put on the Plus Scale and the Fire Ant, you will have everything you needed. But for heavy duty or traveling, I need to take the Wave with me too.

Great continuation of the SAK series 👍🏻
Pocket carried a Huntsman for many years, great combination of of tools. Don’t carry it as much these days but top choice for outdoor use if you are looking at non locking models👍🏻

Great video and great top (5) I personally like as my go to and #1 is the FieldMaster. It has the Saw,Scissors, and the screwdriver 🪛. For EDC for me a 4 Layer is perfect. But the Huntsman or Explorer for outdoors would be a good one for sure. Thanks for the great 👍 video ❤️👍

The Climber is a great all around EDC. For camping or hiking I would go with the Camper though. In the woods I'll probably be more likely to use the saw than the scissors. I guess I could get a huntsman and have both but 4 layers is a lot to have in the pocket.

  • @davidkurle5418

Great top 5! For this category, out of my own collection, I've got some favorites too. 111mm Outrider or Trekker if I want a larger knife. 91mm Huntsman or Camper, and if I want to carry a 93mm alox it's either the Farmer or the Farmer X. But out of those six if I had to pick only one, it would be the Huntsman. Tons of outdoor capability in a size that's easy to carry. Have a great Sunday, my friend!

Great video thanks. Not bad for EDC or camping and adventure trips or at work.
I personally like these SAK'S tools I listed for camping and adventure trips plus EDC & work.
Having some of SAK'S tools including the knife / knives, saw, metal saw, awl, can opener, cap lifter, parcel hook, FireFly ferro rod with curly waxed fire tinder and Fire Ant ferro rod with waxed tinder curled on corkscrew, magnifying glass, plyers, fish scaler, chisel and screw drivers flat and Phillips, pen are great for EDC, work, camping and adventure. Plus add a marlin spike for knots, serrated hunting gut blade, scissors, electricians and hook blades for whittling if needed and or depends on if hunting or bush crafting & tying paracord knots.
By combining together these SAK'S I would get the tools to bring camping, adventure trips EDC and work.
    1st I would choose a good fixed
blade knife like the SAK Venture Pro knife with it's belt sheath that comes with a sharpener & wood drilling bit plus a ferro rod. And also bring a
Ranger grip 79 with its large locking blade and big saw or a Ranger grip hunter then paired them with the Swisso Champ or Swiss Champ XLT.
And may also take my Handyman & or Skipper SAK too.
You can never be to prepared unles you are planning on backpacking long distance and you want to keep the weight down.
To be prepared it is good to have more then one tool. A good rule of thumb is the motto ("3 is 2 & 2 is 1 & 1 is none") in survival & preparedness.

All good choices Slipjoint, after 50+ years of outdoor work and play and owning about every camping type SAK I have decided on my own three top Saks I would choose as the best for the outdoors. My #1 is the 91mm Ranger with scissors, wood saw, and metal saw making up the 5 layers, #2 is the 111mm Locksmith with both saws making it a 4 layers, and #3 the 130mm Wenger RangerGrip 90 Handyman with both saws, full sized pliers and multi-bits/driver for repairing gear. The RangerGrip is strictly a winter mountaineering carry as gear (skis, snowshoes, pulks, climbing gear, can break down needing stronger leverages to fix.

Good Video and conversation starter, Keep up the SAK videos 👍
With the advent of onboard ferro tools the 91mm are still very competitive
with the beefier 93mm alox knives. Do I want the emergency fire starting
with the Huntsman or do I want the stronger tools that the Farmer X provides ?

for me the fieldmaster is the best choice for outdoor activities. it is one of my first knives and i've been using since then, 8-9 years, maybe even more. i've made some tiny modifications so the main blade doesn't hit the backspring when it's closing, so i've grinded a bit of metal with a dremel tool

The climber and explorer would be out of the lineup for me as it has no saw and I would replace it with the Ranger and Swiss Champ which have a saw and a file. File is nice for touching up your belt knife and hatchet as well as sharpening fish hooks. My five, and I have them all are: from least amount of tools to most - Farmer (X with scissors), Camper, Huntsman, Ranger and Swiss Champ. The Swiss Champ has the Magnifying Glass that went out with the Explorer. Lastly all plastic (non Alox) scale models must have a corkscrew for loosening knots and for storing a FireAnt fire kit. My thoughts anyway.

Honestly, the Huntsman is a great EDC choice regardless of environment. For one thing, the saw works on more than just wood - thick cardboard, hard rubber, PVC pipes (and other plastics), etc. The saw is also pretty good at popping larger zip ties if you can wiggle the tip under the plastic band. The Huntsman is also pretty lightweight as 4+ layer SAKs go. It's only about 15 grams heavier than the Climber. For the utility you gain from the wood saw layer, that's nothing!
The only downside is just the thickness of the SAK itself. There are times when a thinner SAK is just what you need. For example, a 2 layer SAK is thin enough that you can use the tip of the can opener on the screws of an interior door knob - and the 2 layer SAK is thin enough to get you past/around the knob well enough to turn the screw in a pinch! But good luck doing that with a 4 layer SAK... Pros and cons, I suppose!

Happy Sunday Slippy, these are my personal choices for Outdoor & Countryside EDC taking into account that you in the UK are forbidden large lock blade knives. I have ranked them for what I consider the having the best tool range for Outdoor use: 1) the 91mm Ranger 2) the 93mm Farmer X Alox 3) the 91mm Huntsman or the Huntsman Lite 4) the 85mm EvoGrip 17 (the Wenger origin equivalent of the Huntsman) 5) the 93mm Swiss Army 7 Alox. The 2 Alox 93mm models are sturdy, have great spring tension, are more grip able even in wet conditions and have slightly better wood saws & wider blades than the 85mm & 91mm ranges. I have discounted the Camper as it is IMO less all round useful than the Huntsman & I have discounted the Explorer and Climber as I consider them Urban EDC & in particular office or workshop carries and my preferred Urban EDC SAK's are the 91mm Compact, the 93mm Pioneer X and the EvoGrip 14 over the Climber
