Silver dye would’ve never shown up on the colour you started with no matter which brand you use. You need to get it to the lightest blonde and then tone it to remove any remaining yellow pigment and then apply silver. I’m sure the dye isn’t bad
I recently used this hair color in Smokey grey. My hair was about 4 inches of natural silver grown out and the rest light blonde. I applied it to the blonde hair and just brushed a few strokes into my grey. Everyone tells me it looks fabulous. I agree her hair was too dark to start with.

The reason why they didn't take on your hair is because it was still too orange and brassy. You need to get your hair to a level 9 or 10 to do silver and pastel colors. The blue toned a bit of the orange which makes it go to a brown color. The silver is mainly purple and blue based which again the orange was toned by the blue so there would be no blue showing. The purple toned out the yellow, which is why you didn't see that color. Which is why you ended up with a reddish brown hair color. What you did was basically tone your hair.
Something told me to skip ahead glad I did , result was shown for like 3 seconds out of this unnecessarily long video .
They say on the front of the box: “for LIGHT BLONDES” These products were not meant for hair as dark as yours

You have to lighten much lighter and then tone out the yellow to get this to work. It will work but you'll need to lift to almost white or at least ice blonde first.
You needed to be much lighter to achieve gray or silver and you should not have mixed them because all the lighter one did was add more blue overtaking the violet and producing a greenish brown. This is chemistry and people need to understand the basics.
It's really not a fail.😊 Your hair was not light enough; must be a light blonde. However, the results were fantastic for anyone just wanting to tone down the orange. I'm going to try this. It was a very helpful video. Thank you. 😊
To get what you wanted you had to use a 10 volume developer instead of the 25 volume Feria comes with. So you get no lift because then you would just have to tone and deposit color only but as a shade lighter, brassier and drier. I learned from experience, lol. You can thank the quarantine. Try again after a month with deposit only color. No lift. You can buy a 5 or 10 volume developer from any beauty supply store.

Wella color charm 050 cooling violet - 4 cap size amount
with 2 parts Salon Care 10 volume creme developer
Get rid of the brassy.
Both of those box dyes are really pretty used separately, but your hair needed to be lighter. But by mixing them together I think you ruined the color of both.
I'm sure it's already been explained but bleaching alone doesn't make the hair the nice blonde that it needs to be for dying these types of colors, if you toned your hair first with a wella toner to rid the orange tones, your color would've shown up. Orange hair was an easy mistake back in the day but we have the internet to learn how to do anything, don't be afraid to look something up even if you think you know how it's done.

Ouch… 😓 What did you NOT do? Follow the instructions for desired results. Starting with orange hair was where this sadly went wrong. Better luck next time.

when I would switch my hair color to different shades of red, I wouldn't do it with my hair this orange. it won't take right. I was really disappointed, hoped to see it work. And I could see using a different grey on different sections but mixing destroys the color.
I use that very gray it was the most beautiful color in the world I absolutely love it but I don't have any of the second I did pick up Revlon color silk Platinum for three bucks a box which is where I seen your video just wanted to let you know that that ferry color is on fire I love it

Both of these have worked well on my hair. Do you have to have a letter color base. Either white, bleach blonde, or platinum.

I just used One 'n Only Color Fix from Sally's and it worked great.
Don't listen to this girl, she dyed it before toning her hair, it was ORANGE! Of course it didn't come out like the box, it needs to be close to the shades on the box. But anyway, color oops is okay, but google is a girl's best friend to find the best option.
Go learn it yourself instead of asking people who don't know much more than you. And I'm not trying to say that rudely at all, I'm just saying this is how bad advice happens. This lady isn't that experienced compared to the actual hair dressers that post helpful hair dying videos all the time. Check out Guy Tang, he's hilarious and gives tips the entire time. He probably has every colorful style you could imagine between all his videos.

yea hate to say you ummm did it wrong 1. you need your hair at the finest blonde as much as you can
(experience for 7 years) when i first started the colors seemed really dark or so mucky well that was bc it was not blonde enough 2. i would thoroughly read the instructions (yes i even make mistakes when i don´t read it) :´)

FYI next time put Vaseline on coconut oil around ur neck, ears , and forehead . I learned the hard way😜 hardway. I bought the smokey silver and am a dark brown half gray . I'm not taking it back so was curious if anyone else has done this? And how'd it look??
