First off you never send your complaint to HR! skip the whole authority game and go all the way to the top...corporate headquarters! you send the complainant via US mail.

Hi! I’m going to follow up. I received a wrong 1099 and was furious as I was never paid. I called corporate and unbelievable that I spoke to a woman who listened. She forwarded my story to the SIU department and a corporate dept… I’m curious if I’ll hear, she said SIU absolutely will contact me…..

Only time to sue your employer is if you are being on of the three categories
1.) Wrongful termination. (When you are being laid off or fired but they want to suddenly frame it on performance after years of good feedback.)
2.) Discrimination (In pay, race, age, or gender.)
3.) Scapegoating (When a person in the organization is wrongfully blaming you for their mistake. This isn’t common but it happens.)
Other than that there’s not much a lawyer could do if the case is very small. If something feels off document everything in writing. Verbal doesn’t mean much in court at the end of the day.
Work hard and stay safe everyone.

I'm starting a claim now because in nyc they have manual labor law which dishwashers are supposed to pay me weekly. Before I told them it was law I asked them is it possible to get paid weekly and they refused with a iron fist .then when I showed them it's law my boss pulled me outside and tried to give me advances and told me not to tell any of my coworkers.and the kitchen manager said it's because the boss partner don't have all his paperwork to actually be here so they tried to shut me up ..but got me pissed because they want to enforce there rules everyday.but won't follow the law

I am doing the same. I heard the phrase “emotional vindication” used about people who file lawsuits against their former employer, and that is exactly what I want! A settlement for the stress, lost wages, damage to my reputation etc is great, but I want to be emotionally vindicated! Wish you luck with your case! Go for it! People sue for way less then that!

I have 26 years at my company I just turned eligible to retire.. we had a new boss that started was only there about 4 months and I had to write them up to my union for verbally abusing me on a job for no reason at all.. basically he didn't like that we have procedures... We went to the meeting and he apologized said he wouldn't do it again, I should thank you that's all I wanted, and I shook his hand. Not even 2 months later he wrote me up on a bogus live trying to say I was insubordinate trying to give me three weeks off.. I even have a witness saying I was right and for some reason the company's corporate lawyer , who is also knew like the rest of management they're trying to give me three weeks without even let me grieve it and I have a union. The union tells me they don't have an attorney on the books.. I said then I can get one and you can pay for it.. but they're telling me no...

I just got stiffed and I don’t know what to do. The owner said that he’s broke and that he doesn’t have the money to pay me. I worked for 12 weeks on salary at $1,500/week. He only paid me for 6 weeks. They also have an escrow account that they take 100/week from me for the first 15 weeks to total $1,500. This money is to be returned to the driver after 365 days unless the driver leaves the company early. I haven’t been paid in 22 days, and they are already late on paychecks. I paid $400 towards the escrow account and owe $1,100 towards it. So, they owe me $9,000-$1,100=$7,900 What do I do now? He says he is broke and cannot pay me.

I live in Florida and i don’t always take my lunch cause my job is very busy (Amazon driver ) and my lunch will sometimes put me way behind thus making me late for deliveries which hurts my scorecard which affects if I get bonuses or not. So the days I don’t take my lunch my employer wants me to request that I took a lunch. Is this legal? Wouldn’t take me taking away my wages that I worked. I didn’t take a lunch I worked all day other than stopping to piss. This is a big issue for a lot of people at my station not just me.

Thank you for this video. Quick question. About 3-4 years ago i had an employer that didnt pay me any of my hourly pay the only thing i would recieve while I was there was tips that we would get throughtout the night, I had a talk with the boss multiple times which lead to him cursing me out over the phone and telling me that if i ever come back to the workplace I would be arrested for trepassing. My question is would I still be able to bring this to court or is it too late to bring that into court? honestly I was young and didnt want to get arrested so I left the company alone.

Mine started at my job when a guy lied and said that we were having sex. I reported him and rumors begin spreading about me. The office staff started treating me different trying to change all the rules only when it came to me. Rumors were spread to new workers. I reported this to eeoc and they didnt seem to see a problem but gave me a right to sue. I was laughed at and comments would be made whenever i walked throughout the halls. This was at a daycare which is located at a church in Birmingham, AL. When I complain the last time, I was fired that day.

@iamrightyourwrong5198 The reason for me being fired was because I had too many tardiness, at least that's the excuse they used, since other workers would come in later than me and more times. They needed a reason to fire me because they were tired of my complaining about my treatment.

@@iloveoldschool888 Every state is different but I don't believe the church has to offer unemployment to you. If you were getting a W-2 and you were terminated, then you would have qualified for unemployment. If they were paying you under the table, you could report that to make sure that they're paying taxes on your employment (make sure your taxes are straight as well if you do this).

Idk but I was terminated because of a coworker that called me the N word, before my first break. I confronted the coworker and told management about the incident. After my break, the manager literally shoved me out of the workplace and put me under investigation, then they terminated me... They never took my written statement at the time, and banned me from entering the workplace while I was under investigation and I'm still banned to this day.
(all while this coworker and her witness were in the same room writing statements together, because they are friends)
A lawyer said that he's taking my case, but I haven't heard anything back from him, after submitting my evidence. It's been about 2 months since they took the case, my question: is that normal to wait in silence as the lawyer does his work?
I've never felt this low from a job loss, and I feel kinda lost and let down by everything because I feel like they'll walk away from this scot-free.
