He has the Miracle of Istanbul to his name. And no one can ever take it away from him 👏
Nice
So great..
Adrian stooped us from potentially having another one.
We may win it again and again, but nothing will come close to the Miracle of Istanbul.
Hear Hear
Big respect to Rafa for giving me some of the best times of my childhood watching football. It wasnt always silky, but the memories his teams fave me will last forever!
Special thanks for Rafa
My childhood as a Liverpool supporter couldn’t have been any better! Considering that Houllier and Benítez were both Liverpool’s managers at the time 🔥💯
He couldnt win the premier league, but he made liverpool feared in Europe. Sometimes i think they where even better than Klopps team when it comes to the Champion League. He won against teams that where way way better than Liverpool.

commentator: i'm sorry to say that may well be goodnight for Liverpool...
Jerzy Dudek: hold my spaghetti legs...
Hahaha
Hhahaha
😂😂😂
He jinxed it 😂😂😂
the lad had an absolute blinder
The sound of the goals being scored at Anfield is incredible 👌
I love the way Rafa sits like a Buddha for the penalties.
Haha, good memories there
He said after that he didn't want to block anyone's view
So cool
Happy birthday, Rafa. Thanks for the wonderful memories.
That Gerrard goal against Olympiacos is absolutely for me the greatest goal I have ever seen and the commentator made it more and more special
Gerrard mate 👌
@@mohammadrasoulfard-habibi3066 sorry my bad
“What a hit son,what a hit!”
I was at that match and had such a good view, you knew it was hitting the back of the net as soon as he hit it!!
@@drewbranch7700 it's a music to my ears
I love how against West Ham Gerrard is just like
“Oh no,you’re not winning the cup”
At the end😂😂
And Dudek after the double save
West Ham nearly got lucky with 3 fluke goals.
Nearly.
@@davidhenderson9707 if stevie didn’t spank in that stunner of a shot they would’ve won
@@Sigmamale1289 I’m more a believer that Stevie carried that team than Rafa, Rafa was a decent coach but he inherited Houllier’s squad with a captain fantastic. Rafa picked the wrong side in the Athens final and it showed. He even binned out Alonso, our most reliable and consistently creative player after SG for Barry.
@@davidhenderson9707 I completely agree if stevie was at any other club in his peak he’d be hailed as one of the best of all time in his position.
We never really replaced Sami Hyypia until we signed VvD. Hugely underrated outside of our club. One of Rafa’s most reliable players during his time as boss.
@Elegance yep and I think he's the only non-British player in Liverpool history to captain the team.
100% Agree, even as he got older and a bit slower, his reading of the game was exceptional.
Agreed.
I honestly wanted us to get Nigel De Jong when he left
Outstanding manager who inspire me to support Liverpool since young. I will never forget how he brought Liverpool to win our 5th CL. Thank you for making my childhood memorable through supporting Liverpool!!
Me to , big respect to rafa
Same.
Some of the teams we beat under Rafa were incredible. Just shows how much of a manager Rafa is.
And that includes AC Milan, who was stacked.
united, chelsea, arsenal, juve, milan, inter, barca, real. And guess what ?! we’ve humiliated almost every team mentioned here!!
@@brehbreh1067 Liverpool are awesome
Gerrard's era revived the 80s Liverpool glory,
Liverpool the english embassador to the European competition.
Gerard is a legend.
YWNA.
The 90s was a bad time for Liverpool. Fowler and Mcmanaman carried us. Spice boys etc..
This highlight alone shows why Gerrard was the best midfield player in the premier league
Best Attacking Midfielder England ever produce.
Sadly he didnt produce that world class form for england
mohdimam buchori77 lampard was far better at attacking, but gerrard was a better all rounder
Best player ever, some have had better seasons but no one was that consistent season after season
RBs Pinter they were asked to play two different roles, however when raffa played Torres with Gerrard just behind if you compare them that season I’d say Gerrard was the better attacker.
The commentary for the Istanbul one should be the one with "Hellooo, helloo" version. Besides that, 10/10 content.
I agree. This version of the Istanbul commentary didn't sound spontaneous. It sounds as if it was scripted and added in post-production...
Never liked it.
I agree. By the way, who's the commentator against olympiacos, Hammers, Chelsea (CL) and Istanbul? Can't be m.taylor!!
Seriously, I was waiting for that too
Hello hello, here we gooo
True but it’ll be due to copyright cos they won’t own the right to that copy, it’s better to have them post the entire compilation with commentary they have instead of post the best commentary for Istanbul but then the whole video gets claimed and taken down
The consistent factor in all of those games was just how good Gerrard was.
The chelsea semi final in 2005 is the greatest atmosphere I’ve ever seen in a football game, frighteningly loud
bignate1892 my favourite to lad unforgettable night like a religious experience, I was with my daughter on Oakfield Road and she nearly fainted when we got onto Walton Breck Rd outside The Kop magic night!
Anyone else replayed the "GERRARD!!" Moment about 25 times? Never gets old.
The sound at full time in Anfield against Chelsea is defeaning!!!
Best team in the world ❤️❤️❤️🏆🎖🥇🏅old days never walk alone please like
3 - 0 down
commentator : " im sorry to say, will be good night for Liverpool"
rafael benitez : "hold my pen"
From Bali iam just want to say... So proud to be Liverpool fc fans
13:53 Gerrard's 1st goal in the 2005 UCL final is almost similar to Gini Wijnaldum's second goal against Barcelona
And shaqiris pass to wijnaldum 2 goal almost like rises pass to gerald
Soon in the future, we will have a Jurgen Klopp Version with #1 being “ corner taken quickly... origi!!”
Hopefully that will only be number 10 and we'll have 9 more things still to happen ahead of it
@@benjammin9471 I doubt we'll have games crazier than 4-3 vs Dortmund and 5-4 vs Norwich.. that was insane!
@@bcbitchkkv Alisson… he gets it… he gets it!
@@bcbitchkkv 9-0 to Liverpool VS United 21/22
Who miss Rafa Benitez?
👇 Make this blue
(EDITED) Wow 116 Likes!! This is proof that everyone is still love Rafa Benitez 😍
I miss him but Klopp is doing a great job
We'll have Rafa back after Klopp decides to coach Germany.
As a man, I love him dearly.
As a coach I prefer Jurgen.
We love him, but I still dont forget his greatest mistake, tried to replace alonso with gareth barry
As much as I miss Benitez, I’d have Klopp over him any day.
Even Special One could Not Take Him down.. That's How good Rafa Was. Absoulte Class Manager.❤️❤️❤️
Will never get bored of watching those 2005 CL games
HELLO HELLO HERE WE GO!
Steven Gerrard puts a grain of doubt in the back of Milan minds. Captain's goal
11:09 imagine if this goal never happened, we would live with paul konchesky scores a winning goal in fa cup final
RAFA deserves so much credit for winning the CL especially with apart from Alonso,Gerrard and a few other key players that year we had some limited player's in our squad and team that year and others but he got everything out of the group he had especially winning LIVERPOOL'S 5the European cup RESPECT.
It's mad that people under 20 won't have memories of Istanbul. Makes you feel very old
Ha, I was a 3 year old in America. I wish I could’ve watched it. I’m sure people were going crazy
I was 2, my dad broke the sofa.
I was 2, it annoys me that I have missed so much of Liverpool's history like
@@usernotfound1185 same, I was a born a liverpool fan because my dad supports them. And I've had to to go through the Hodgson era and the gerrard slip to see the success we witnessed last season.
That day was the day my mum found out she was pregnant with me (I'm from Liverpool)
still get goosebumps from the 3-0 comeback against AC 😢
Bellamy’s golf stick, Gerrard you beauty, Old trafford rampage, Garcia ghost goal, Istanbul magic... these are some of the best moments that lives in my mind forever! Ps. That Gudjohnson shot still gives me heart attack everytime i watch it though 😅
Mellor should've gotten a CL medal in 2005. He played a massive part on the road to glory, especially against olympiakos.
Collide WithTheSlope why he didn't
@@muhdpeep Got injured afterwards. Didn't play in any of the knockout stages. And i guess they ran out of CL medals to give out.
Fun fact. He got a medal. It was a runners up medal an Italian player dropped.
@@Longchain69 probably Pirlo 🤣
He was so bitter about 2005 in his book
2009: Real Madrid gets hammered 4-0 by Reds.
2019: Barcelona gets hammered 4-0 by Reds
@dante inferno if you have enough time search "Barcelona vs Liverpool Head to Head"
@@ryanharumal2958 what do you mean? Liverpool also lost badly a few times
Liverpool are confirmed best team in Spain.
@@harrytoffoloenjoyer3441 this aged well
@@DBDYAKU seems Atletico are then.
That Stevie G goal against Olympiakos still gives me the shivers.. What a player - and what a hit, son!
The best Spanish coach in human history. What he did at VALENCIA, we fans will never forget.
RAFA BENITEZ was champion wherever he went without having billions like other technicians out there
Imagine Gerrard at his best in Klopp's team. :)
15 years on and I've seen it a million times and I still expect Gudjohnsen to equalise
Everybody know 1st place without watching😅
Stil lives in our memories# RAFA THE LEGEND
And if you don’t know you should feel very bad about yourself.
2004-2010 (Gerrard and Benitez era) legendary games and moments and tons of class players
Thank you Benitez, yr era is when I was most attached to Liverpool F.C.!
*Happy Birthday Rafael Benítez!*
Wow, 60 today! Legend 👏🏽🎂🎉🏆👑⚽🥇⭐
That Dudek double save still gives me flashbacks of my 12 year old self with my heart in my mouth! Will never forget that moment ❤
That Torres vs Vidic always make me chuckle. 😂😂😂
Rafa always give us amazing nights in Europe!
Thank you for the memories Rafa!!!
Gerrard best captain weve ever had, rafa is a god, dudek legend because of that double save in the final, dossenna >goat and torres was on another level.
Agree with all except..Dossenna.
Thanks Rafa for these fantastic matches 👏👏👏
Enjoyed that! Cheers Rafa, great times
Easy to forget how good that AC Milan team were in the 1st half. The likes of Kaka and Pirlo were playing a different game. That Liverpool team in 2005 was average but became European champions because of Rafa's genius and the brilliance of Gerrard
Team spirit aswell
When one is feeling down, always watch these clips. Glad to be a Red since 1984!
❤❤Im not crying, you are.... ❤
😭😭😭😭
4:38 What you came to see..😍😍😍
No
Beautiful, beautiful goal
what a manager!
Rafa error was dope man. Going to school and discussing the previous night's matches with the guys. Good times.
My god the 2005 semi v Chelsea just highlights how good the UCL was on ITV, goosebumps with Clive Tyldesley’s commentary
Watching this, I really miss stevie G.
And and did anyone notice the role florent sinama pongo had in the CL win of 2005. Watch the semi against olympiacos. Without him we wouldnt have....miss him too
Rafa the gaffer forever a red❤️ unbelievable memories!
Anfield crowd and noises was soooo crazy!
Gerrarddddddd ohh ta beautyyyyy .. what a hit 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looking back it seems such along time ago but the warm feeling you get never really goes away we are so lucky to have these times has Liverpool fans
The sheer improbability of Liverpool's 2005 run cannot be exaggerated. One giant after another. And the names...Ibrahimovich, Robben, Drogba, Pirlo, Kaka, Seedorf, Shevchenko and of course, Mourinho. All notches in LFC's belt en route to the Miracle of Istanbul.
That Chelsea Vs Liverpool Game Has To Be The Best Atmosphere in The 21st Century For Liverpool.
Fell in love with football and LFC in 2005. Always liked Liverpool but it was 2005 that really changed me. Now I have witnessed us win Premier league, CL and other cups under Klopp. Without a doubt Rafa is total legend and Klopp is total legend. But Gerrard… he is the Knight of Liverpool, the eternal warrior. Through all the highs and lows, he entertained and fought for us. What a hero.
That's a very flattering picture of Raffa!
Check the tickets in my wallet
Then swig a cup of tea
7.30 in the morning
One game from Wembley
Out the door and on the street
Off to meet the boys
To sing the songs we love to sing
And fill the ground with noise
The coach pulls up and we all pile on
Belly full of butterflies
Then off to sheffield we all go
The FA cup our prize
9.00am and the songs have started
I talk about the game
To a young lad thats sat next to me
I didn't catch his name
The journeys taking hours
And we cross the pennine hills
But my mind drifts off to hillsborough
As i dream of beardsleys skills
"My favourite players Aldo"
Says the boy sat next to me
His eyes full of excitement
And his words are filled with glee
"I'm meeting me mate when i get to the ground"
"He's travelling up by train"
"I'll see you back here on the coach"
"When we've beaten forest again"
The coach pulled up and off he went
Going to meet his friend
I check my ticket once again
THE LEPPINGS LANE END
Its getting near to kick off
And i'm getting close to the ground
But nobody seems to be moving
I'm stuck tight in this crowd
I'm just starting to panic
And a bizzie opens the gate
A red tide moves down the tunnel
Moving closer to thier fate
I remember clearly that tunnel
And the light shone at the end
And as i think back to that fatefull day
I still cant comprehend
That the coppers called us vandals
And drunken loutish liars
And the media fed us spite and hate
When compassion was required
But back to that day and the things i saw
Unfold before my eyes
The sight of grown men screaming
And the air was full of cries
But i was one of the lucky ones
Because i came home alive
I watched heroes in scarves on the pitch
Trying helplessly to revive-
Their friends their family and strangers
Who'd all come to watch a game
But their lives were crushed that fatefull day
On a terrace called Leppings Lane
The memories still haunt me
Every time i go to sleep
But theres one memory that gets me
And always makes me weep
Back on the coach with my head on the glass
I remember my heart it skipped a beat
When i turned to the young lad next to me
And noticed his empty seat
There were 96 empty seats that day
96 friends that we lost
And while Kelvin counted the pennies
The families counted the loss
So next time you're at Anfield
Visit the eternal flame
Feel the stone cold marble
And touch a persons name
And while you say a silent prayer
And your dreams are tossed and blown
Remember those 96 empty seats
That must never walk alone

Liverpool and those special European nights...magic.
That Agger's goal against Chelsea is one of the cheekiest goals ever.
Brought a huge smile with tears. This club will always be about passion. YNWA!
We were bad that season we won good games 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Such great memories
I used to think that the CL final in Istanbul is probably Liverpool’s greatest European night ever, but now I think the trashing of Barcelona in 2019 has surpassed its greatness. Thank you Rafa.
Nah 2005 will always be the one because of that great AC Milan team who where full of star players and maybe the best team in the world at that moment, we where an average team in 2005 the one in 2019 was way better even without Firmino and Salah
Liverpool had an entire 90 mins to comeback against Barca.
In 2005 they only had the 2nd half to comeback against one of the greatest sides of all time.
So much nostalgia. It's one of the few things in life I don't feel the need to compare with Klopp. I knew I chose the right club decades ago despite Man Utd being in the ascendancy.
Rafa will never be forgotten
Legend and world class manager
Happy Birthday Benitez! A true legend!
I missed thw Rafa era, was special and unique, he had aura and presence
On the phone to me dad, both of us screaming and crying after the final in 2005, Precious moments.
What a hit son!
That Garcia goal against Juve is my most favourite goals of him. It caught me off guard. And that ghost goal always make me laugh.
I was at a lot of these games including the fa cup final, both chelsea semi legs and Istanbul. Amazing memories
Such a great memories. And Rafa almost won the league with his Spanish armada. Always a legend
📣Ohh Gerard 😍😍
Gerald screamer against west ham one of the best goals I have ever watched
will always remember how lucky i was to be a liverpool fan bcoz my grandma gave me a shirt with Gerrard name's on it. ups and downs, i'll never regret on my journey to supporting this club. ❤
Istanbul... still makes me cry!
Thanks Rafa Benitez for the great memories
Just wow!
Great manager.
All the victories are so sweet. Especially the CL final against AC Milan 2005. Unfortunaly Liverpool miss out the EPL title for that 2 season.
13:56 I am dissapointed, he didn´t said hello, hello, here we go
Houllier and Rafa gave us 2 euro triumphs with amazing finals. 5-4 v CD Alves and Istanbul.
What an era
What A Hit Son! What A Hit..
No true Liverpool fan can watch the Istanbul miracle without either a sprakling smile or a sparkle in their eyes ❤️ amd for the new generation, Klopp has written many legends to tell ❤️ let’s go get that EPL title once this lockdown is over
So many nice memories. What a video. I fell in love with Liverpool during the Rafa days.
Just shows how much of a manager Rafa is.
Of course coach rafa benitez top on the world liverpool fc..spirit world
We love Rafa , thanks for everything
That heat run through me heart! Love this club to bits! YNWA Everyone
