Hey folks, I figured out what went wrong with the resolution for chapters 12 and13. Apparently all of my defaults got reset with the last update to our editing software. I have re-rendered the last two episodes and will release them after the final chapter airs this coming week. Thanks for your understanding.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't quite understand or accept how the genie worked this situation with Penny.

    • @Cywren
      @Cywren Před 3 lety

Ambro cant destroy meaning if he preformed the creation it would kill the real penny as the soul would have a husk to exist in. So he is forced to fill in the missing parts to keep from destroying penny and breaking the rules. Since their wish didnt call for him to do so its not erased upon the next wish otherwise he would destroy penny and break the rules. Then with the portals Weiss said one way to Vacuo. He gives them exactly what they ask for and Weiss asked for them to come out the other side with a one way ticket. Making the exit portal only an exit.

@@DocMicrowave part of it is they had to leave it ambiguous to put Ambrosius in that position where in which he was forced to act in order to avoid breaking the rules. But that makes it very difficult for the audience to understand what it meant or why it happened

@@Cywren Either way, thanks for the assist in trying to make some sense of it.
I just didn't want to feel like they pulled some kind of technobabble (or is it fantastibabble) explanation out of the air to make that scene sound like common sense.

    Hey guys,
Calxiyn over on her CZcams Channel did a video recently explaining what happened with the whole Penny's new body thing and why it exploited a loophole in the rules. You might want to check it out for more details. But the TL;DR version is that the creation of Penny's human body was not part of Ruby's "wish" and therefore it was not subject to the 1 thing at a time rule. Ambrosius did that on his own to comply with the "can't destroy" rule he is bound by because if he had left Penny's soul without a body, she would be destroyed (i.e. die). To meet the demand of the wish AND the rule not to destroy, he had to make her a new body. And because that new body was not officially part of the wish, it won't be destroyed when the next wish is granted. Hope that helps.

Great reaction. You had me laughing at a couple of your quips guys.
Concerning Ruby's Silver eyes. (Or the lack there of.)
Seems like she forgot to use them again when Cinder popped in.
That scene just had me think of a scene from The Princess Bride. If I may paraphrase:
    RUBY
I'm going to fight Cinder without Silver Eyes.
    YANG
You know this a life and death situation right!? No time to waste.
    RUBY
Well, it's the only way I can be
satisfied. If I use my Silver Eyes --
    pffft -- over too quickly.

Kidding aside, I think what the show is establishing is that Ruby can use her silver eyes but only when she can truly focus and kind of center her mind. We saw back in Volume 7 when she tried to use the silver eyes against the Grimm that invaded Mantle but was not able to do it because she was too unfocused. We saw it again when she confronted Salem in V7 Ch 11 and was taunted by her. She tried to use her eyes but it kind of glitched out before she collapsed. She was able to use them in V7 Ch 13 against Cinder and in V8 against the Hound because she was actually focused (I would say hyper focused) by the direct danger they represent. Here there was just too much going on with all the chaos. At least that's how I interpret it. I could be wrong.

    • @DocMicrowave
      @DocMicrowave Před 3 lety

@@jonjohns8145 You make some points, about her needing to focus.
However, she as never needed to do that before with Cinder.
3x12 - Even though it was her first time, she was able to flash Cinder ~28 seconds after she first saw her. Seeing Pyrrah being harmed probably helped.
5x11 - She flashed Cinder in like 6 seconds (the slow mo streteched that out) as soon as she saw Jaune in mortal danger.
Both of those times she didn't even know why her eyes did that or how to control them.
Of course it was Maria that told her later that it was the desire to protect life that powered her eyes.
7x13 - she had No problem flashing Cinder on sight. No time for monologue, no posturing, or trying to find a happy thought.
Her friends where in mortal danger. She flashed Cinder in ~5 seconds from first seeing her.
8x13 - No silver eyes!? 30+ seconds of monologue from Cinder? Not to mention the whole thing with Blake which was more than another minute.
      Cinder is here.
      She is hurting/killing people.
She is threatening you and your friends with death.
She is a nice stationary target this time.
Last time she cut and run because she knew what was coming.
      This time.....??
I see her talking one thing, but I hear her saying in my head "So, lets see those famous Silver eyes of yours! Come on, Whip em out? I dare you. I double dare you.."
The only explanation I can think of is Plot.
As for the SE glitch in 7x11, I am not even sure why they even started to come up. They Only work in the presence of Grimm. (Or so we were told in exposition.) There was No Grimm there. Just a dead seer and a Skype from Salem.
I figure it was done for dramatic affect.

There is no way Robin could have known that Vine was there convincing Harriet not go through with it, or even that he hadn't gone along to help.
On another topic, though, I appreciate that you'll comment on the things that maybe don't make sense, or might consider odd writing, but won't dwell on them or let it stop you from discussing or enjoying the rest of the show.

The portals were on the tracks and no one was hiding, but never mind continuity, time for a funny! At least they didn't screw it up in the early days, like the pratfall during initiation. We never know if it was Watts or not; maybe the death of Jacques would hit harder if Ironwood hadn't murdered a councilman in the first chapter. Cinder monologues yet again, but this time it's for an actual purpose! Yang could've started shooting, but she needed momentum to fall, so in she charges. How does Neo oneshot her? It's not like she had to be anything less than fully conscious to be unable to reach Gambol Shroud; trying and failing instead of using her gauntlets to reach another platform or bridge would've been all the more tragic. We'll never know if Clover would've gone through with it, but I don't understand why Harriet is so commited to the 'principle' of mass murder. Weiss' words bite them in the ass...
Does anyone else hear the (Aang/Korra) Avatar theme at 19:56?

Let's be honest, they cant commit themselves to kill a character. Sure they did it once but since then they have teased it but never went through with it. I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like the girls stay behind and jump after her. There's no way that its just a void.

If it wasn't for the need to emphasize a Bumblebee moment, Either Weiss or Ruby could have easily saved her.

Ruby: I'm so shocked, like I'm also shocked with phyrra's death so I can't do anything.
Weiss: There's no way I'm going to waste my platforms and my insect summon just to save you. It's too much work
Blake: I'm just going to throw you a rope to grab it... I forgot that I can jump, grab you and throw my grapple hook to the nearest flatform...heck..I did that when Nora accidentally pushed me on the broken bridge in volume 1.....

Sorry, Jacques did not deserve that death in my view.
All he is guilty of is being a horrible father, husband.
    And a ruthless businessman.
Just when you think there might be a moment of reflection for him with the realization that the world is ending and even his daughter wanted him saved. He gets taken out in the worse way.
He was mostly absent from view for most of the volume. It's like the writers just remembered, 'oh yeah, forgot about him. Need to rap this up quick. Volume is ending.
I would have liked to have seen him confront his family.
But he did slap Weiss though. So I guess his fate was sealed.
Scratch another male character on the show.
Also, that was quite the plot convenience, Ironwood's weapons right outside his cell waiting for him. The logic escapes me.
    imho
