Now he just needs to hit a home run next year! I remember listening to his 2014 debut and he was impressive, but I didn't think he was going to be this good this fast.
Fabulous season. He commands his circle-change better than most pitchers this generation. NL version of Dallas Keuchel. Love that he can hit, field, and isn't fazed by a grand stage of the postseason. Next year will tell if he is meant to last for a while or if he was a 1 hit wonder. Only problem I have is the 190 IP. I need more from a potential Cy Young winner.
As a longsuffering Indians fan who was heartbroken I must say this is what separates Hendricks from Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin. Tomlin pounds the strike zone but doesn't have the lethal changeup that Hendricks has that would really increase his strikeouts and lower pitch counts. Other than that they're both similar in style that they rely on precision and location more than power.
Think about it he debuted in 2014, and he's already out dueled some of the best in the post season ( he beat bumgarner, Kershaw twice, and kluber, tomlin, and scherzer) when I watched him debut I never thought he would be this good
Diehard Cubs fan here. If Hendricks pitches all of WS Game 7, the Indians score 3-4 runs max. Could've saved us from all the apprehension, aggravation, and hypertension. Stupid of Maddon to pull him when he did. Hendricks had the mojo and could've brought the Cubs into the Promised Land that night singlehandedly. Absolutely no need for Maddon to have gotten all "Mad Scientist" in Game 7. Maddon made a lot of stupid decisions in the 2016 World Series, when you look back at it. Maddon choked and his players had to bail him out. Go Cubs.
Simple man was my walk up song my senior night. Everyone else had rap and shit and when mine came on my dad said parents were like "wow. Kids got taste in music"
Want to let you know, in his first two years, Maddux struggled MAJORLY. Gave up a lot of runs and walked a fuck ton of batters. If you saw him pitch those years, would you have still thought that he would be one of the greatest pitchers of all time? And you think Hendricks is a fucking fluke, with a 2.13 era, leading the league in weak contact, and nasty a changeup?
he always lands his right foot as soon as he expects the ball into the catchers glove he even times it himself he said this in a interview during the WS i think it was the game right before his start 2 i think
Kid should've pitched all of WS Game 7. Like if you agree.
Probably should’ve, but we pulled it out in the end. Wouldn’t change a thing

Old heads complaining about todays music? What a surprise. Some of them need to stfu sometimes
He's the Greg Maddux of baseball right now
except maddux struck people out and didn't let many people on base, in addition to his 13 gold gloves
Coolbobawesome Men Take it easy, the guy only have 26 years old.
Robert Jorge Polanco it's stupid to compare one of the greatest pitchers of all time to a # 3 starter with a fluke year
