I fell in love with sock yarn when I started crocheting and I made 40 pairs fingerless lace mitts. A Red Heart pattern. Never one to shy away from trying something a little more difficult. Red Heart also has a Matching hat pattern and a booklet for patterns (not socks) using sock yarn.

Hi I’m from the UK and have used a similar weight yarn from Paintbox. I was also surprised how small the skein is but they actually do further than you might think.
I haven’t ever used paintbox but I know people love it! I think it’s just easy to get accustomed to the jumbo shrine we have here and think that’s normal lol! 😂 I have to say, I totally love all the drops yarn I’ve ordered!

Pretty much all yarn comes in 50g balls here in europe except half the sockwool and almost all chunky yarn comes as 100 or.150g. Its.good because dont have to have 40g leftovers on every sweater and tshirt. Its bad because you have more knots/ ends to sew in. Its even better if youre using 3-6 colours in your garment.
Drops safran is great to work with so is belle fine merino also drops yarns overall I’ve been pleased with. I know some find it controversial due to patterns being very similar to certain designers love working with drops yarn especially as I’m on a budget.
I’ve really enjoyed what I worked with all ready! I wish I would have bought more of some of them…..I’m definitely going to need another order lol! Thanks for watching & commenting 😃
I finally have a day off where I can get caught up on your videos! Well, I personally was kinda disappointed that it wasn't Muskrat yarn lol We do have muskrats in SE Iowa; they've done some damage to our pond at the hospital. Those are beautiful yarns, and you always look so cute!

I’ve totally gotten into sock yarn/fingering weight yarns now! I’m surprised how much I’ve come to love them! 40 pairs is a big deal, that’s awesome!
