Absolutely beautiful coastal drive through est coast of North Honshu, incredible how much snow it was there. Also the weather changed a lot during the drive, from snow to sunny, enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for sharing such beautiful drives, greetings from a fellow roadtripper and creator from Germany!

So Japan also has a National Highway numbered 101 too? & like the one on the West Coast, its also on Japan's West Coastline?
Nonetheless, it's great to see yuki (snow) still presence. Even in Aomori, it'll a matter of time before this winter wonderland disappears.
Unlike US 101, Japanese R101 stretches only between Noshiro and Aomori. Route 7,8,9 run along the rest of Japanese west coastline.

能代市は五能線！奥羽本線は東能代！奥羽本線を引くために能代に話しがありましたが、当時馬引き組合が猛反対！已む無く新しい駅を作る、それが東能代駅！奥羽本線は大きく迂回して東能代駅に入ります、そして大館駅に向かいます！能代駅は支線となり、今では夜は無人駅です、この馬引き組合こそ、当時隆盛を極めていた勝長車両です、その後その勝長車両はバイク屋。部品屋、などを営み、今は引っ越しして何処かに消えました！能代に奥羽本線が来ていたら、今のような衰退は無く、繁栄は、今暫く続いていたと。思われます！当時の馬引き組合の会長だった人の判断が見誤った結果だと思います！今では能代は人口減少！産業も無し、どんどん衰退しています！
目立った産業も今は有りません！当時は木都能代と言われ、木材加工業者が軒を連ねて犇めき合っていました、その木材も秋田杉は原料不足でロシアから外材のスプールスが入りなんとか凌いでいる有り様です、でも木材の質が違うので余り良い製品は出来ないみたいです、器が付いた処を書き記しました！

These are Japanese small islands. We can’t see any island in another country from here.
We say "West Coast" this area.
