    Join me for a short hundred mile hop between the uncontrolled airports Griffith and Cowra in central New South Wales, Australia. Departing Griffith we weave our way between layers of clouds heading east to Cowra, as the cloud thickens we upgrade to IFR and conduct an RNAV approach into runway 15 at Cowra. In certain parts of Australia we can fly up to 23,500 ft (FL235) VFR without need for a clearance or even filing a flight plan. I also go into some detail with the preflight inspection and some of the quirks of the TBM.

      @@Aerodite Absolutely. Well researched, demonstrated, and the V/O script had a cooler than cool delivery.

    Nice to meet you Joe. Have just watched a few of your videos, very entertaining. One question if that's ok. Did you go flaps 20 before getting into the white ark ?? Look forward to more videos, thanks

    • @Aerodite
      @Aerodite  Před 4 lety

      Hi Spiro, indeed I did select flaps 20 before the white arc. Flaps 20 speed on the TBM is 178 knots. The white arc on most aircraft indicates the speed at which you can select full flap. Flap 20 on the TBM is only half flap. Hope this helps. Cheers. Joe.

    Great video mate, thank you. One question, when did you change freq to the CTAF from Mel Centre ? I assume you cancelled IFR on the ground ?

    • @Aerodite
      @Aerodite  Před rokem

      I normally run the CTAF on one comm and area on the other. I cancel on the ground where possible. J

    Nice flight. Thanks for sharing.
    Is the squiggly blue line on fore flight your max glide?

    • @Aerodite
      @Aerodite  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks Bryn, the squiggly blue line is indeed glide advisor. It takes into account winds aloft as well as terrain in its calculations. Pretty nifty!

    Enjoy the channel, but the repetitive music is annoying
