Her vocals and pitch are unique. The raspiness of her voice is beautiful. She sounds like no one else, alot of ppl cant say that. You recognize her voice where ever.

her and Katy Perry are very similar, they have amazing voices with unique tones but when it came to singing live they weren’t giving their best during their peak era which cause people to say they couldn’t sing (when they clearly could) they were both having fun performing instead of giving serious performances and when they did give serious vocal performances, people didn’t talk about it or never saw the performances. however now they both improved tremendously so most people are aware of their talent. They do deserve more praise

I love Rihanna. I love her style, her sense of humour, her songs, her attitude, her fashion, everything. But honestly, she's as average a singer as anyone... a 7/10 on a good day. I feel like her "good" moments don't come without effort. Great singers like, Whitney, Mariah, Ariana and Jessie J (none of which I am a fan) can and will, most of the time, sing flawlessly... which I can't say for Rihanna. Still love her though!

All those girls you named. Do you know what they all have in common? They're all trained singers from a very young age or they grew up singing. Rihanna didn't get proper vocal training until she was around 19! Let that sink in. Neither did she grow up in a choir. So for her to have come this far, you've got to give her props.

I love Rihanna! Nobody's perfect. I've seen amazing musicians flub up live. It would be incredibly difficult to perform each and every song perfectly. Especially under the gruelling conditions of being on tour. And it's super difficult if you can't hear youself due to loud music and the crowd. She sings way better than most vocalists out there.

There's something refreshing about an imperfect POP stars voice. I'm so tired of the perfected still voices of Beyoncé, Taylor, and Justin, etc. Don't get me wrong their vocal abilities are astonishing (Taylor not so much) but I much rather hear the rasp and rawness that artist like Rihanna, Adele, and SIA bring! Their voices give songs sooooooo much more feel and emotion.

She kills California King Bed and Diamonds every time and California King Bed I think is one of her most demanding songs. That being said, she does slide in and out of flat notes and three or four notes later she resolves the phrase back in tune, it is odd but unique. She's seemed to embrace it.

I used to think Rihanna was a bad singer but I've learned bad is a very unfair word to call her she's not bad at all she's lazy a lazy singer and performer there's times where she absolutely kills it but sadly more often we get weak vocals and little to no dancing

Not the strongest vocal out there but she can sing. She's lazy though. Only performs at 60% of her abilities most of the time. Like avoiding the high notes or letting the audience sing most of the songs.
