Good Vid. For Me - been in the trade since 1981.
1) if I can’t stand up inside it’s a No Go for Me ! Quality of life is Super important ! To Me Now that I’m older & Wiser.
2) check out - Nor cal Dave’s Van. It’s the Best Set up Grab & Go Van for small van like this.
3) Full size van - Best set up van is - Quality Hvacr. & hes all packout setup like u like. I’d Recommend u go with his set up van.
4) Our job is tough enough as it is !
Get the right van , set it up right, which will make your Quality of life Every day !
Just my 2 cents ! I’ve only been doing this for 40 years !
I went from a 2006 Chevy express to a 2023 transit and I love it so much. Definitely makes being in the van a lot more fun
I really like the set up you can actually fit a condenser or coil in the back or side. I would definitely move the back shelf either how you said or on the opposite side.
If you take out the console you can fit a 30 can size cooler between the seat sideways
Adrian, Another solid video my guy. I absolutely despise my Transit 250. Its got the good 3.5L Ecoboost but it just feels like it has a lot of wasted space compared to the Chevrolet Express I came out of. Audio in these are decent and you can get a nice piece for the dash to replace the factory radio.
Both school district maintenance departments I've worked for started going with the high roof version of the transit vans, and they're decent if you get the chance to design the layout yourself.
Unique lay out. I’d either take out the middle shelf all together or take it up against the wall, if leaving that raised portion I would put some rubber flooring like a gym if your keeping it. I like one side all shelves and the other open for activities and stuff 🤣
I'm working on that Krauss 😅 it's all coming together 👍🏽
Congrats good luck with this I see it has to be something diffrent from what you had a bit smaller cargo area I had a Few thoughts
I like the storage racks but I’d have them in different places if it were me .
I would definitely gut that thing.
I've been away for a while, but I'm glad you're still blowing up my guy!!!
Welcome back and much appreciated 🙌🏽
Those steps will be huge. I have the Chevy and wish I had some steps I’m getting older too 😢
I gotta get used to them, almost wiped out a few times forgetting they were there 😅
I aspire to keep my van as clean as yours
When everything has a place it's easier to maintain
Our fleet is mostly fords, I have one of the last chevys. I don't wanna change it out lol. I do like the layout in the back of your new van tho. I want the taller van with the raised platform to fit the 6 and 8ft ladders under. Told our fleet manager to look into benz's for the next round of new vans 😂
Tell em it's Benz or nothing 😎
I'm digging the layout actually, it's coming together
That’s more of a roadside telecom shelving setup imho.
I ended up finding some sort of communicating wire in there as well so maybe
You’re gonna miss the Chevy! Especially the power. Transit has a good radio!
Should be fun to see the transition. Not sure how I feel about a raised floor, since you have the ladder rack on top.
If you decide to keep the shelves with the tanks in it, you can flip those shelves so your not fighting with that 2” lip. I have several Dewalt boxes with fuses/ fittings etc with a bunjee keeping them from sliding off. 👍 Can’t wait to see the finished product here man!
Yessir, did that in my last van 🫡
I have been a HVAC service tech for 25 years and I have never saw a layout like that it’s sure something different I could come up with something and like u said if not take it out and start over good luck brother
It's coming together, I always end up taking shelves out tho
Should not have got windows. But I have one and like it.
As long as they have the cages I'm ok with windows but yeah probably better off without
Congrats man🫡
Thanks!
👍👍
Are your trucks v8 or v6 ? Do you look for power for payload or gas mileage?
As a transit owner please check that your rain gutters in the engine bay and wiper grommets are working.
Yes they have problems with clogging and allowing water to pool on top of the engine and shorting out the coil packs.
Can't say im a fan of the raised floor in the back. I do like the slider section layout. I don't do install, so i don't need long sections of open floor. I really like driving a truck, but im stuffed to the gills with my tools and more room would be cool...but i don't want a van again. I have an F250 extended cab with a utility bed and a job box in the bed. Congratulations on adding to the Reliable fleet.
Been on the fence of trying a truck, I don't need as much as guys that do install and things like that. But this one is turning out pretty sweet 🤘🏽
@@ReliableHVACR can't wait to see how it turns out.
That’s definitely a strange layout for a work van….. it has potential and I agree trying it out that way first is the way to go for now. But honestly I think the shelving and compartment placement is kinda awkward. Whatever you decide, good luck with it! The transits run well and are very comfortable.
It's looking good, it rides good and I'm digging it so far 🤘🏽
Ya that’s an odd layout for sure. If you keep the layout you’d be the guy to make it work
So many ideas and I'm really digging the way it's coming together. Thanks!
I have a Transits van 150 what's your email I will send you photos on How I did my van I think you may see stuff in it that you may want to use for your tank issue
It's in the description. I don't think I can write it out here
oh ok
