“Malignant” is the latest creation from “Conjuring” universe architect James Wan (“Aquaman,” “Furious 7”). The film marks director Wan’s return to his roots with this new original horror thriller.
In the film, Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.
“Malignant” stars Annabelle Wallis (“Annabelle,” “The Mummy”), Maddie Hasson (CZcams’s “Impulse,” TV’s “Mr. Mercedes”), George Young (TV’s “Containment”), Michole Briana White (TV’s “Black Mafia Family,” “Dead to Me”), Jacqueline McKenzie (“Palm Beach,” TV’s “Reckoning”), Jake Abel (TV’s “Supernatural,” the “Percy Jackson” films) and Ingrid Bisu (“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” “The Nun”).
Wan (“Aquaman,” “Furious 7”) directed from a screenplay by Akela Cooper (“M3GAN,” upcoming “The Nun 2”), story by Wan & Ingrid Bisu and Cooper. The film was produced by Wan and Michael Clear, with Eric McLeod, Judson Scott, Bisu, Peter Luo, Cheng Yang, Mandy Yu and Lei Han serving as executive producers.
Behind the scenes, Wan was joined by his frequent collaborators, director of photography Don Burgess and editor Kirk Morri (“Aquaman,” “The Conjuring 2”), production designer Desma Murphy (art director, “Aquaman,” “Furious 7”), as well as costume designer Lisa Norcia (“Insidious: The Last Key”). The music is by Joseph Bishara, who has composed the score for all seven films in “The Conjuring” Universe, among many others.
New Line Cinema Presents, In Association With Starlight Media Inc. and My Entertainment Inc., An Atomic Monster Production, a James Wan Film, “Malignant,” will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on September 10, 2021 in theaters nationwide and on HBO Max via their Ad-Free plan in 4K UHD, HDR10, and Dolby Vision on supported devices; it will be available on HBO Max for 31 days from theatrical release.
“Malignant” has been rated R for strong horror violence and gruesome images, and for language. - Zábava

Preach! Saw it tonight and loved it!
Yeah, but the way gabriel was countered still doesn't work for me. That's not it. Else, the twist was awesome
I thought I had it figured out after about half an hour but it threw me for a loop, this is how you do a twist properly, make the audience feel like they know what's coming and then pull the rug from under them, except do it correctly and make it feel earned, not like M Night shayalalalalalaman does with most of his crappy films and just have a twist for the sake of it that feels cheap and silly.
It really wasn't a bonkers twist at all. It was incredibly obvious 30 minutes in what the 'twist' was.
@@somerled5513 ^ This guy subverts
This was honestly one of the most unique horror movies I've seen in a long time. It doesn't take itself too seriously. The music is amazing (that recurring song they use throughout the movie is SICK); you don't often see that genre of music in modern horror. It makes the movie seem a little more campy as opposed to a traditional score. But the movie does contain a more traditional movie "score" too which is also really good. I like how the jump scares are kept to a minimum
Doesn't take itself too seriously..?
For such a hilariously bad film, it is entirely absent of humor, joy, or levity.

Just watched it. What a genius of a film. James Wan is certainly becoming the steven spielberg of horror movies
James Wan has always been a horror director, horror is where he shines the most and in my personal opinion he's only outdone himself with his last couple of horror entries. Saw is obviously a classic that kickstarted his career, Dead Silence was the only major step-down I could think of in his horror filmography and that movie is still decent enough regardless, then came along Insidious which still remains one of my favorite horror films ever and chapter 2 although not quite as good as the first still provided some interesting world building for that franchise, then he made what I think is arguably going to go down as the biggest horror classic of this generation The Conjuring, yes the universe might be a little overdone at this point but the first Conjuring is simply a time capsule of a film I still rewatch it to this day and it feels as fresh as ever and just when you thought he had peaked he somehow managed to outdo himself again with The Conjuring 2 which I would've never imagined in a million years so as mentioned he's been on an upward trajectory as far as his horror films are concerned so I'm holding my breath for this to continue that, can't wait for september!!
Dead Silence is so underrated. Such a good mystery and a very M.Night Shyamalan style twist
Conjuring 1 > 2 imo
Dead Silence isn’t great but has some good scares and is a guilty pleasure for me
Aquaman

Just finished it. Wtf did I just watch? This felt like some lost 80's horror movie I found on an old VHS tape in my attic. So bizarre and fascinating at the same time. Throw in some Scooby Doo elements in there and it's a pretty entertaining movie. Although I wish I could unsee some stuff that flashed before my eyes, especially in the final 40 minutes. At first I did think Gabriel was separated from Madison not still inside of her. At first, I thought she could see people getting killed by someone, and when they all thought Gabriel was an imaginary friend I thought that was the killer at first, then I thought of the twin scenario I was right about that but as I said did not expect him to still be attached to her alone inside the back of her head. Lol, So, Ive passed on this movie many many times, didnt even get 20 seconds through trailer, thought it looked run of the mill and lame, BUT, heard someone today say it was like an old giallo film on crack, and i thought "hmmmm, well thats interesting", so i just finished watching it and just gotta say i was an IDIOT for passing on this gem. It was bonkers. Definitely a must watch.
Stranger Things font on the title threw me for a loop.
its just an 80s style font
It’s a really popular font called “benguiat”...been around longer than stranger things.
Bruh it’s literally been around since Stephen King wrote The Talisman
@@LastStarfighter00 longer than that...
Professor CZ!
Gabriel definitely has seen The matrix way too many times 😂😂😂
True😂😂..."you don't deserve this body, you don't use it well"
SPOILER: The reason why this movie is called Malignant is because tumours that grow and feed on people as cancers are classified as malignant. Reference to Gabriel
This was such a good movie. And a great master piece. The plot and cinematography and the sound track was amazing. I have no idea why it had so many bad reviews.
The trailers for horror movies always contain so many spoilers lol. Sometimes watching a trailer for a horror movie is like reading the summary on Wikipedia
trust me theres no spoilers in this trailer
@@ReneMalai well I know about 20 jump scares already
@@calebjones960 Bit of a hyperbole, but seriously the trailers don’t do the movie justice. This film is insanely inspiring and unique for the horror genre.
sss man there is no spoilers in this trailer... go n watch
@@calebjones960 shouldn't be watching trailers then, man. I dunno what else to tell ya.
When I first watched Aquaman, I was telling to myself "This movie's camera work is so much fun to watch!". Everything made sense when I found out it was James Wan. Definitely will watch this movie just because of him!
I belive he also directed the first 2 Insidious movies.
@@jesseoliver6457 and had a hand in or directed the 1st 2 conjuring movies and the 1st few saw movies
I'm mindblown by James Wan. This movie had a bit of everything: creepiness, visuals, action, a great twist which taught me something new. It's amazing to think James Wan is the reason we have the Saw and Conjuring universes, Insidious, and now this in the horror genre. Not to mention he directed Furious 7 and Aquaman. Man's a true gem.
This movie is so good. The plot twist is something you are not expecting.
Maybe that's why The Conjuring 3 wasn't as good a movie as we'd expected because they focused more on the new Malignant movie.
james wan had virtually nothing to do with part 3 outside of a producers credit
Conjuring 3 was kinda mid
Conjuring 3 was ok, not as great as the previous two but not too bad either
it reminds me of when insidious chapter 2 wasn't quite as good as the first one because James Wan was focused on making the 2013 the conjuring
The last one was more like a story which I liked so idk people are complaining? It’s based on a true story so u can’t change that 🤔
James wan is a true directors horror movies legend
james wan always have some interesting horror concept throughout his movies. so unique and you'll be questioning at first then you'll realize it at the end why is it happening. great work!
I gave it 10 out of 10 in the ✝💩 category !
Gabriel would make a great addition to Dead By Daylight. Just imagine him running backwards doing the insane parkour moves. It would be awesome.
how quick before it becomes 'daddy gabe' like Michael Myers XD
@@katherinegoulden6667 what do you mean?
Sounds like Legion...as if we need another one lol... xD
This doesn’t give away every jump or the whole story line-excited to see!
I've just watched this at the cinema. Honestly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Fking chronic....
Don’t listen to paul. I just got done watching it too and it was NOTHING I was expecting based off the trailer. Insane twist.
@@LeeoGoneWild I loved it until the end. The end was so gruesome I was literally laughing it ruined the great storyline they had put together to up to that point
@@esavage8855 I liked the ending.
@@LeeoGoneWild I guess it wasn’t that I disliked the ending it just was so comical and ruined what otherwise was a super good movie
James wan is a simply a genius and a master of making horror movies.
He stays comes up with something different daaam . This movie was good.
This man is a legend killer.
Your joking arnt you? It's a rip off of basket case and the ghost movies he does are just the same thing 12a children's horror. Now a master of horror would be kubrick, Takashi Miike, Carpenter. Go and learn your horror movies.
It’s a rip off of Steven King’s The Dark Half
I don't think we watched the same movie.
Movie was terrible..what are you smoking
@@kevinhartman8390 what u expect conjuring all the time .
When James Wan is direcing horror is all I literally needed to hear.

Watched the trailer and thought it’d be a cheesy movie but since i saw james wan directed it I figured I’d check it out. This movie was so crazy, the angles, the lighting… it was CRAZY. Loved it
Wow nice

I really liked this film. it deserves more recognition. It was like an 80s horror dialled up to max. the OTT elements work. I think the critics simply didn't get it.
It's currently 11:30 pm and I was thinking to watch this movie but after seeing the trailer I postponed it to sometime during the daylight..😅😅
