I have an idea, why dont you try going to garage sales and buying people old pokemon cards and showcasing them in the lair
I’m on it ty
Omg only 6 mins ago!?
@@PokeRevI actually think that would be genius, there is another channel I watch who do that for old games and it’s a blast it would feel like we are going on that adventure with you
You can get vintage for like 13 dollers
how likely are you to find old pokemon cards in a garage sale ? seems unlikely
This is my new favorite content, awesome idea and series, Rev! My personal feelings about indents side more with CGC than the PSA standards. I don't mind a minor indent and think scratching and whitening is much more egregious to lessening the visual appeal of a card. It's crazy how strict PSA treats those, usually an auto-6.
My guesses, just to have on record for the next vid:
Blastoise GX - 10
Gold Zekrom - 8
Gengar Mimikyu - 10
Articuno - 8
Skarmory - 6
Lugia EX - 9
Charizard EX - 6 (If CGC, that'd be an 8)
Latios-Latias - 7
Jirachi - 9
Dragonite Delta - 8
Lillie - 10
Skyla - 8
Snorlax - 10 (I think they miss the dent)
Ninetales V - 10
Kabutops 1E - 9
Palkia EX - 7
Rev I got a card with a tiny wrinkle on it what grade do you think it will get with psa?
Why do you say 8 if CGC? Just curious, never heard that before.
@ln9475 There's kind of a card grader joke that with CGC, "if there's a dent or it's bent, it's getting sent".
Each grading company has it's own opinions and standards regarding what qualifies as damaged. PSA is in my opinion, a little ridiculous about the tiniest of dents and will auto-6 a card that looks like a 10 with anything like that. CGC doesn't consider that kind of imperfection as critically, so they'd probably give a tiny dent a less harsh grade.
The Kabutop's seller was determined that the card arrived safely xD
You’re right I recently bought a reverse charizard g card in near mint, there was a bunch of scratches on the holo. Hate that there is no pictures most of the time
TCG Player’s customer service is amazing. I ordered a base set Gyrados and it came bent because the seller didn’t even ship it in a sleeve, let alone a top loader. They gave me my money back and let me keep it
Wow!?! did not know that about near mint conditions...
Crazy right
Neither did I makes me more Wana buy from tcgplayer/online less
funny enough i just started collecting again and am taking some time to check out near mint single cards. timings too perfect here.. great vid yo
Absolutely loving this series so far! Hope the returns r great!
Has nobody ever heard of painters tape? Or a buddy tab? That razor blade getting close to the card has me gasping.
Yo I peeped the same 👀
And here we are again, mannn i gotta go out the house again 😂
I feel yah
you’re actually so chill i’ve been watching you every day
Have been loving these video concepts!
Great idea for a video 👍 Grading can be tough.
The Rev battle cry every time you see the Umbreon needs to be a sound drop.
Fr
The indenting on the Lillie is a common factory error with some Pokémon print runs where the texture pattern gets indented on the back of the card from the factory. I’ve seen psa disregard it before but sometimes they don’t, 50/50
These past couple videos buying best/worst conditioned cards have been cool!! That’s as always for the content
It’s pretty neat learning about the quality evaluation.
as a TCG seller there are quite a few buyers that do not know about the TCG condition guide. I will often show it to them if there is ever an issue and they are pretty floored. I try to be in favor of the customer and give a bit of a refund if there's ever an issue but its helpful to familiarize yourself what is what when it comes to NM/LP/MP/HP/DMG. Recently, I have started to post pictures on any cards that are questionable or of a certain value, so there is less of a mystery about what will be received and no difference of opinions as to what is what. If it is close I will typically learn towards the lower grade, again, to favor the buyer... It's nice that you bring this to light though, so people's expectations can be a bit more clear.
to put a little bit more perspective on things, all the way down to PSA 7 is "NM" -- so there's that too.
@@user-fh2cf6eb5t no, there are clearly LP and arguably even MP cards there. I did not state that those were all NM at ALL (way to jump to conclusions there bud) -- just stating that there are people out there that do not know of the guide that he was referencing's existence.
How can I find the info?
It sucks to say but the people that dont know about condition card guide lines are the people that just hear that their is money to be made selling pokemon cards but they dont know about grading card and condition they just see money but dont see value in the card itself. I finally got my lugia from neo genesis and i love just having it, i never thought i would ever own one and now i do
I’ve been collection Pokemon cards since 2020/2021, and the channel has gotten me to take more interest in older sets! Especially Deoxys, Holon Phantoms, and Hidden Fates. Just bought a PokeRev Pack today I can’t wait to get it and open it up!
I’ve been out of the loop of buying packs for years, but I have been enjoying both your new and viral videos. I sold a few yugioh recently from around 2005, but would love to find my old Pokemon cards.
That Blastoise will always be a killer card ❤
Looking forward to the grading on these. The vid for the beat up cards was great!
Glad to see I’m not the only one who gets inconsistent “near mint” conditioned cards from TCGplayer. Lookin forward to seeing their grades.
My buddy won’t order from them anymore because of listed condition and what you receive is almost always different.
@@RolandKoller90 I’d say about 30% of the cards I order come in good shape what I’d consider near mint. I try to order only from sellers who I know send out quality cards
These are super awesome videos, especially the follow up videos
That charizard on the thumbnail is sick
Its a promo from generations if you were curios :)
@@Sfdmd Thanks :D I actually have that card at the moment, so I did know that. But thanks!
You’re welcome i also felt dumb commenting what card it was cause later on in the video it popped up and he said what it was lol
Woah I was just looking at that Charizard !
I really like your channel. I used to collect when I was younger and just recently got back into it with my kids and we'll sit and watch your videos like a TV show and look through our cards and compare them but I have way older stuff and have to downplay it for them but they enjoy it and it makes me smile seeing them open stuff and get excited about it.
It's pretty cool that you show us what you'd get in the near mint category. Looking forward to the graded cards!
When @PokeRev said the front looks good on that Skyla card, we knew what he meant 😏
That character pose was 🔥.
Dawg shut up
My experience with NM on TCG Player has been mostly positive. Probably worst I've gotten is similar to a PSA 8.
I think my results will be different lol solid though
@PokeRev welp. This made my day lol.
@@user-fh2cf6eb5t well my experience has been 100% positive. you think there's a card marketplace out there where every single buyer is going to have a 100% positive experience every single time? people always recommend ebay as if scammers don't sell on ebay all the time. tcgplayer isn't perfect but i'd love to see your public marketplace alternative where every shipment goes perfectly every time.
Look up how they clean paintings. I am not sure but I wanna say they use purell and a qtip. You could possibly get the grime off.
Love this content for multiple reasons, 1 I could never afford to do this 🤣 so it’s cool to see someone I like do it. 2 I always have an issues spotting stuff or know if it worth grading and what caused it to get what ever grade…so I’m looking forward to them coming back to see what they get. I would love to see more of this! Keep up the good work my guy!
That zecrum was cool
The blastoise is just 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Excited to see the follow up vid on this one when they're graded!
this channel is actually stress relieving lmao
Pokémon Cards 🃏
I like peanut butter
I like turtles.
Same
I like your mom
Chunky or smooth?
This was fun and interesting to see how some of these get shipped
Really got into your videos recently, trying to gether a collection mixed between investment and my own favourite cards. Would be cool if you gave some collection advice as the Pokemon sets feels like they are moving really fast in terms of new content.
Who likes Pokerev!
what like????😂😂😂😂😂😂
That palkia raw in the magnet case sent me, good lord. I've got cheap, nothing cards double sleeved lol
Always wondered what the actual condition of some of these cards would be since there are no pictures. Appreciate!
I really enjoyed the previos video when u purchased amazing cards at their cheapest.. cant wait to see what these come back as !
Thanks for sharing your experience
Love this series rev keep it coming!
I loved seeing all the different artworks across the geneations
This was fun, looking forward to the PSA return 🙂
These types of videos are kinda nice, helps me learn about grading and older sets. 🙏
Don't usually post comments but had to for this video! Definitely one of my new favorite type of contents from your channel. It's very fun to see what cards you got and try and guess the condition of them. Something I haven't seen much on CZcams!
The ending was cut a bit short 😂 I like the magnetic case a lot, but only have like 2 of it
I am really enjoying these types of videos. Always eager to see what grade they return as. I also have never seen some of these cards before!
Cant wait for the follow up video, gonna be crazy if the dragonite come up as a 10
Do you have a guide for looking at cards before grading them?
Stoked to see what they come back as, good luck Rev!!
Lillie is like that because that's how the cards were cut in that set also its got a dirty smudge make sure you wipe these with a very damp rag Rev
Have to brilliant stars non-pc ETB’s wondering if I should hold as investment or just crack them open 🤷♂️
Love the vid, I’ve never been able to pull the trigger buying without seeing in person, gives me an idea what to expect.
This “mini series” of buying off of TCG and grading is becoming one of my instant favorites.
Ahhhh looking forward to seeing the future video of the official grades for these cards.😮
Cant wait for the following video. Love these grading videos
I agree. There should be a mint tier cuz alot of people can say their cards are NM when it really isn't
Minor to moderate scratch, as I would leave the highest category for worst case examples, and without seeing it in person to truly gauge the severity. Another question is whether you tally each scratch, which is what I lean towards with "near mint." Each scratch should be evaluated. Personally, I would also consider the location of the scratch to be relevant in addition to scratch length, width, and depth.
Cant wait to see the follow up vid where they all graded 🤭
I have been considering buying NM singles... this video has helped me understand the risks, thank you!
this concept is so fun, keep it up
On cardmarket the EU version we have Mint condition to search from and not just only near-mint, as Mr Rev said, its a massive gamble to just order near-mint cause that can mean so many different things from person to person
I totally agree on the really loose standards of "near mint". I recently got a NM card on eBay and it arrived with a whole chunk of blue border missing 🤦♀️🤷♀️
Love watching watching you and your excitement opening cards made me and my son start hunting
Recently got back into collecting and your channel has made it so much fun
Can't wait to see the follow up video
I like the new content, it shows me a idea of grading through psa and its very entertaining like the last vids.
Keep up the quality content Rev! Some of these cards are controversial in the Near Mint category but it is what it is.
This is a very cool concept! I learn a lot watching this kind of videos. It will definetly help me when I want to grade my cards in the future
Lot of fun watching these kind of videos!! Just as fun as the pack openings !!
cant wait for the follow up video, it will rain 9s and 10s for sure
You can't use centering to determine if something is mint or near mint, because "mint" condition is about the printing, or minting, of a card (or coin). Since the centering is done in factory, the centering can be horribly off, but the card can still be mint.
So interesting too to see the different shipping methods. We need a company to produce a standard “mail sleeve” to be the gold standard so you know what your gonna get and that it’ll make it to you intact.
Can we all agree sending it in that magnetic case probably added to the damage, always a small amount of movement in them they are for display not shipping
Rev always uploads videos after I buy items or shop from the place he is reviewing wish I waited 😂
Rev you should make a video of you doing the PSA sub and show us how to do a submission!
Mann both of the gold cards from Legendary Treasures are insane! Id love to add them to the collection someday
The vintage holo Kabutops is insanely beautiful!
Love the kabutops! One of the greats for me as well. I think its because i feel the artwork was ahead of its time
Hi Pokerev, could you do a video where you show us your process for sending your cards on a PSA submission? online process, preparing and packaging? thanks so much, Liam 😊
Love this type of video. Yes you could do more. The Lille card was colored in on the whole front edge, Felt tip or biro as it was a different color. Grading reject?
Looking forward to the follow up :D
Wow, I learned so much about grading this video!
I like videos like this for sure. The videos where you find damaged cards aren't really my favorite.
I remember pulling that gold zekrom back in middle school with the boys. Awesome times
Interesting video, excited for the follow up.
I’m guessing that Palkia got most of that edge wear from being shipped in that one touch case with no sleeve moving around during shipping. But who knows. Great video Rev!
always nice to see cards that you dont often see
I've had pretty good luck with the tcg website. But to be fair the cards I tend to purchase are far less expensive and I've never chosen to get any of them graded. I have had 2 orders that got lost in the mail and both sellers refunded the orders.
Love these videos because it showcases cards from so many different sets!
I really like the delta species dragonite. Think it goes for like $130 in a 9 so probably only breaking even. $500+ in a 10 tho
Depends on the seller, but I have received some absolute 🔥from reputable sellers buying at LP. In fact, for cards I don’t plan to grade I only buy LP and sometimes get gems.
I wish you could have looked up some prices for the 10's but great vid I love your idea
Are you planning on grading nearly all of the cards from the 1st edition booster box opening?
I have a bunch of cards in those hard magnetic cases, mine have a display stand with them. I like them a lot because they don’t allow dust inside them and I can display my cards nicely.
