Its great to see Alton Towers really coming out of their old shell and start to look like one of the BIG NAME resorts. Park looks so much fresher, love the new theming and entertainments added!

Great opening day vlog. The park looked beautiful in the sun. Looking forward to the merch update - love a good merch overview. Really hoping to get a good few visits this season ourselves. Especially keen to get back on Nemesis and Wicker Man.
The new baggage check on Th13teen and Smiler took me by surprise!

It was a great day for the punters and a tougher day for the staff but boy did they perform! Everywhere we went they were so great to talk to and cheery even at 7.40 on Wicker Man. Had a blast. (Baz was also very excited to spot himself in the background of this vlog's intro heading to film his own 🤣)
And folks do say hi to TPWW, just as they always say, if you see them. We did and they were lovely.

Would love to see some more magnets pin badges and resins of old rides like The Log Flume before it became the flume. Also the Corkscrew.

Last time I went to Alton Towers Galactica was called Air!
It was also great to see brand new barista machines in Coffee Lounge, too - meaning a wider range of coffees and other drinks available. Didn't see if Corner Coffee had the same, but either way!

Been so excited for this Vlog the whole of Saturday!!! So hyped
0:12 it was opening day, we were starting vloggin and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky (no clouds allowed in the sky)
I'm going here in April for my birthday with my 2 best friends and my mom and I'm so exited I haven't been since I was 7 so it will be my first time going on the bigger rides

Honestly the street theatre is super cool, and you need to have really experienced Actors/Actresses to be able to handle the split change improv lines, certainly something I couldn't do as I can just about learn a few lines and choreography to a few dances and I'm done 😂

Love the "Trees" at the Alton Towers estate...many outstanding and been there over 100 years. Not always easy to remove trees anywhere....partly due to the roots and many also have "T'P'O's" on them (Tree Preservation Order).
I remember when me and my dad went on the Congo River Rapids and we actually got quite wet!
when i went in line for the smiler someone broke there arm i think but air ambulance came so people were really scared i thought air ambulance was cool well, i hope there okay now so you have a good day and i will too

im finally going to be going to alton towers for my 19th birthday in june after 8 years!! ive been following you for years now and im obsessed with rollercoasters but have only had the chance to go to alton once 8 years ago lol but im vv excited!!!!

Wow towers is looking fresh. I was at TP for MAP day on Saturday and we had a great day with the longest queue being for stealth which was about 25 minutes. Everything else was 15 mins and under. For a soft opening which is basically what map day is, operations were spot on.
What isn't spot on however is TP just looks tired, I think they need to get out with the paint brushes and also sort some of the q line plants out, nemesis inferno q line looks awful in places.

Smiler at the end of the day was insanely good, riding so well! Although the last inversion seems slightly rough in my opinion.

Yes I can agree I was doing my Facebook live videos as I don't have a go pro yet for my CZcams videos and the smiler was going quite quick yesterday I have never felt it so quick but the back row was quite rough
@Alton Towers Theme Park Fanatic Yeah i was at the front of the line before ride open and it looked so slow, but my last ride was so different and so much better, it was a backroom ride to so fully agree but the speed just made it so much better espically for the airtime.

Returning to the UK parks vlogs after a US trip with nice on ride POV's really makes you wish Merlin would allow filming on rides. It would make the UK vlogs better being able to take us on the rides at the local parks. It's a shame we're so strict on the rules here in the UK.
It would be great if they allowed on ride filming!

Went last year first time since 2005 and Nemesis was shut all day, so gutted. Im going on Friday and living in fear of this being repeated but great to see it running so fingers crossed for Friday. Also great its being retracked, so many memories from riding in 1994 through to 2005. My daughter id 1.3m so when she hits the 1.4 after thw retrack we'll be there the next day!!!
Hey Shaun we have Merlín passes but have not been to Alton for at least 5 years because it is super far away , do you have any recommendations of a good place to stay / way to experience the park or advice for when I do eventually go ?
There’s a Premier Inn in Uttoxeter that’s only 15 minutes away and usually a good price!

Awesome vlog as usual! Me and my boyfriend are going tomorrow until Wednesday staying at the Alton Towers Hotel so it's made me really excited for that! I enjoy your videos so much you two are such a lovely couple would love to bump into you one day! Blackpool Pleasure Beach is our home park. I'm a bit of a wimp on the big rides but am hoping to possibly go on Galactica as my first upside down ride at Alton Towers. I do love Wicker Man though I can handle that one! The park do well with keeping thins fresh, however in my opinion they should closs off the whole spinball area and give it all a good repaint and either more or new theming and look at the possability of a small flat ride as it just looks realy worn down and lacks a little.
My wife and I have just brought annual passes for the year. I think we're from the same city by your accent (stoke) so we will be going towers a lot this year. My little lads almost 3 so the cbebbies content was much appreciated, although I would rather give it a miss and ride nemesis all day long 😁
It's great that Merlin Entertainments are spending some money on looking after the theme park.
