I was in the nutcracker play when I was younger. As a kid I was the jester haha I remember everything. Now this makes me wanna get into ballet again and stuff and I’m 21 🥰 I’m signing up for classes next week because fall season is coming :))
Please Do !!!!! I'm 66 and planning on signing up for adult lessons, the passion and desire for ballet 🩰 never ceases no matter how old you are..... I should have never quit, but life happens 😵💫; So the best for you, just enjoy and cherish each "Arabesque" 🎉🩰🩰🩰🩰🩰🤩

The Nutcracker is literally my childhood. It was the only thing that I would sit there and watch throughout the entire performance. I even started taking ballet classes when I was 6, and was gonna be in a Wizard Of Oz play, but stupid Covid ruined that. Oh well, lol. I really wanna get back into ballet, hopefully I can. And another time, my ballet teacher was in a Nutcracker performance. She was the King rat! Me and my mom got to watch it, and it was great. I’m definitely getting into ballet again. Great performance!!

@@BessieStitz OMG NOOOOO Did you have time to fix it somehow? 🥲 one time my party girl straps were falling off my shoulder so my party mom had to stand behind me and fix them without anyone noticing but luckily this was Clara’s solo so nobody was watching
This is a wonderful brief view of the massive undertaking to prepare for a presentation of that magnitude. Thank you for sharing this glimpse into a part of the “ballet life”.
This makes me miss my nutcracker so much. It’s the part of the year that my studio looks forward to the most. It was my last year in support cast and I was casted as Clara. It was a huge opportunity that I loved and made the most out of it. Being apart of something as big as The Nutcracker is amazing. I miss those moments backstage and onstage so much. There’s always a magical feeling when you’re on stage that can never be replaced. The lights on you and only you, the amazing dancers around you that you get to share the stage with. There was this little girl at the end of one of my performances that came up to me, she told me that I did amazing and that I lit up the stage. I was very proud and after I took some photos with family, she came up to me again and asked me how old I was. I told her that I’m 13 and her face is what finished me off. The shock in her face. Maybe I look older than I am or maybe I sparked an inspiration inside of her to start dancing herself. It’s a moment I will never forget. Now I’m waiting, training, and getting ready for company auditions. If I make it, it will amazing.
This gives me soooo much nostalgia to when we did the nutcracker as a Christmas performance when I was little! (I was a mouse) Everything felt so magical then. I grew up doing Ballet until I was 17 then I had to chose between ballet, swimming and my singing group because my parents needed the money to move as it was coming to the end of our lease with my grandparents who owned the house I spent most of my childhood in and had planned to start extension work once I’d finished school. I really wish I’d chosen ballet now, this makes me miss it so much!!
I don't know if they still do the same schedule. But in the '90s, I went to see The Nutcracker on New Year's Eve in San Francisco, and the last show of the night was a special event ticket that included an after-party with the cast and crew to bring in the new year. It was their last show, and they were having a blast. I cherish that memory especially, since I had attended with my BFF who passed in a weird vehicle accident not too many years later.

I was merely answering the question about how late The Nutcracker is performed in some areas. That particular performance and party was her Christmas present surprise for me. I had never attended anything like it before. And many images come to mind from that entire evening.
This reminds me of the time when I used to do Dance and the Houston ballet people came to my school to show us how to do some nutcracker dance movements and I had gotten the role of a angel and we preformed at the actual Houston ballet place it was so much fun😊

I’m part of the choir that sings during the snow flake part before intermission. All of the ballerinas look so beautiful and we just stand there like: 👁️👄👁️
This is awesome! My nutcracker season started in early November and i am so excited because i am a party girl and i am in the same family as my besties!! Nutcracker performance starts December 25th (Christmas) and im SOO excited. I also got toy soldier and im hoping to get Clara next year i was just not ready this year. Good luck to those either starting nutcracker season or is on comp team!! ❤❤
Starting to think the ballet horseback rider crossover is just because we REALLY want to wear as many elegant and fun outfits as possible, and we will destroy our knees, ankles, and feet to do so. 😂

My last show was today and I cried because the seniors are leaving me, but I got a 5/6 year generation photo of my solo role which was really cool
