    It's a bit curious with colour I like: I never have loved pink shades, even as a little girl! Now going through a hard time working on trauma, find a new balance etc. I seem to change from a very strong, focussed, straight person to a more softer, calmer, weaker person ( I like it it feels better!) - and started to love soft pink shades!!! I added a couple of items and they suite me soooo well! I also haven't liked flowery patterns and now I love some of them and added some dresses with flowers 🏵️Isn't that funny, that with the change of parts of the personality there is a chance of style coming slowly with that 🤩 best wishes from Germany 😊💕

    One tip I would have is to not necessarily 'look' for colours to add, but rather pick up a new colour if you run into something that makes your heart skip a beat.
    Most of my wardrobe is black, white (various shades), blues, and lately I've added some greens and greys. But I do have some 'pops' of items that I just absolutely love, but I only have one piece of and that I wear all the time (but I also could not see myself wear it as an alternate type of item or want more of that color); so I have a lone burgundy structured jacket, a bright green dress, an orange linen dress (never thought I could wear orange!), a purple tshirt, and a beige shirt that works (but somehow beige tshirts dont work. pants do again).

    Such an important question "Do I have something I'd rather wear". I always make sure to ask this when I add duplicates. Sometimes I wear both options equally, but other times I just know I'll wear one option more, and in that case the duplicate isn't worth it.

    I don’t have any mules myself, but I’ve heard a possible trick is to spray the inside sole with hairspray before every wear - it makes the surface a bit sticky so they don’t slip off as easily. Still, best not to wear them if you’re hopping on and off public transportation!
    I think the yellow shirt is great! I’d wear it untucked, unlike your other colours, for instance over your denim shorts or white linen trousers. Lovely for a sunny casual summer activity. That white shirt dress you showed also looks very nice.

    Because we’re in the eighth year of an extreme drought where I live, I’ve learned to launder clothes a lot less. They are perfectly fine for rewear unless I actually get dirt or spots on them. After all, we all shower every day, it’s unlikely that they get very dirty from our clean bodies.

    Same - having your nails done pulls your overall look together sooo much. I'm very impatient and and just don't have the level of skill my nail tech does. I started getting my nails done professionally again after 2 years of wearing no polish. My technician keeps them short and I opt for natural gel colours. These fine details just make you so much more polished in your day-to-day even in loungewear.

    Love this update. About what you were saying re the other colours that you don’t feel like injecting day-to-day (the oranges and yellow), perhaps you can add this to your going out/occasionwear where it might make you feel different or add variety when you need it for events to make the clothes feel ‘special’ on you? Just a thought, looking forward to your next video about the new additions!

    Really loved this update ! I actually wear a lot of colors throughout the year but except that I think I have quite a similar style to you. Just a little bit more creative (I do not say that as a bad thing). Summer is actually my favorite season to dress for.
    Just a little advice : you should’nt wear clothes that haven’t been washed. Because of the treatment that they put on clothes it’s quite bad to keep that on your skin all day long. I understand you want to wash your clothing less and you are very right but you shouldn’t skip the first wash before you start wearing it.
    Have a good day !

    I have been struggling the past few years in summer because I couldn't find shorts that I felt comfortable in and I didn't like the way dresses looked on me. I also have the issue of sweating tons (tmi ? 😬) so most of the time I have to wash my clothes everytime I wear them so I do need to have enough stock to take me from one laundry day to the next. This year has been way easier because I have finally found a pair of shorts that suits me and several dresses too (I'm considering asking for a couple duplicates of one of them that I love particularly 👀)
    I have also bought a tan handbag because I found out I didn't want to reach for my black ones and I'm sooooooo in love with it 🥰
    Anyway, the right equation between finding appropriate clothing, the right amount, all of it in your style is definitely not easy, but this summer is off to a great start for me 😁

    • @KleineMausii17
      @KleineMausii17 Před 2 lety +1

      Have the same issue. Have you seen a doctor yet? There ist Medicin If it is too much. Linen, silk, tencel and viskose are your best friends in summer and a good Deo, but with Aluminium. Its the only working Thing

    I love & Other Stories! I have only bought a couple of items from then years ago but they were very nice. Also, I know what you mean about that yellow shirt....I make that mistake a lot with myself in not asking 1. Do I already have something like it and 2. Is there something else I would rather wear. I just did a huge declutter in my wardrobe and got rid of 6 bins + 2 clothes racks of clothes....I clearly don't need anything new, lol! Have a wonderful weekend!

    I enjoyed your thoughts and experiences!! I think that how easy mules are, also depends on the particular mule. The Gucci Princeton's are really easy to walk in and require no breaking in; I have two pairs. They're just pretty delicate, but that doesn't stop me from. wearing them in the summer. I've had the black pair for 3-4 years now and just got the white, after uhming and ahing for several seasons.

    Naja, I agree with you about adding various different colors. I went through this as well; however, I felt very uncomfortable wearing colors outside of my creams, baby blues, whites, navy, sage green and black.I get very nervous about adding colors outside of these colors.

    As another cool toned scandinavian I love the color of the yellow shirt! I have a short sleeved oz one in the same color. I think the reason why you don’t like it as much as white is because, to me, the yellow is more casual than white (which is probably why I wear it more than white shirts, my style is way more casual than yours).
    Maybe you’d like it more if you dress it down, or maybe not if it’s not your style. I’ve mostly worn mine with flowy/relaxed beige linen pants and sneakers or sandals with my hair a low bun

    Note: I think a mule with a few inch heel can be easier to walk in than a flat one, because, gravity. The foot doesn’t move around as much.

  • @kimberlyperrotis8962
    @kimberlyperrotis8962 Před 2 lety +5

    I love mules and slides, but for going from the car to a restaurant, or someone’s house, etc. They’re not for significant walking, I need a backstrap on the shoe for that, or better, a sneaker. I do like backless shoes because they’re easier to put on and to get a good fit, but they are limiting.

    But yellow looks so beautiful on you, you can wear it when your white shirt needs a wash. Loving your videos btw, you are stylish and timeless yet sensible with regards to environmental considerations. My pieces for Summer this year are wide linen pants in unbleached white linen, black and dusty pink, singlets to match in various colours, button down Liberty shirts, jeans flat, Grecian sandals and my birkenstocks.

    I LOVE mules and mine are all comfy and easy to walk in! It took me a while to realise but what makes them comfortable and useable for me is how high the actual mule part comes up on the foot. All of mine come up very high. Anything too low and I can't keep it on!

    Adding a little bit of vinegar to your wash when you're doing linen acts as a fabric softener just for my people that like the fabric.

    Maybe you should not worry this much about having 1 Thing in yellow and one in orange. Its more of a special piece where you have only 2-3 of in your general wardrobe. As a pop of colour but have in mind that your pops of colours have to match your other Rules/your clothes so you can mix and match them with everything. For me dark blue is such a colour or Petrol ( i am warm toned and very Pale) i have a colour sceam for the rest of my wardrobe.
